They did a good job with my root canal, but today I received a call from them that the insurance overpaid by $2 something, and that I would have to come PICK UP the check! It would cost me much more in gas! I asked if they could mail it, but they said they couldn't do that! And why didn't they just give it back to the insurance company? Everything people have been writing- like how he walks you through the process, was 100% accurate. He was methodical, explained everything, and there was NO pain. I came in for a root canal with Dr. Kafi for a 10:15 am appointment. At first glance, the office was very easy to find. There are parking spots right in front of the building. The clinic is the first office to the left when you enter the building. The interior was calming, aesthetic, and clean. The seating area was quickly flooded with patients who went in after me and was attended to right away. I was the last one to be called in at 10:50 am and was greeted by the dentist assistant. She talked to me about the whole procedure, took x-rays, etc. Everything was very smooth and easy. The assistant asked me if I needed anything before the procedure began to ensure I was as comfortable and informed as possible. Dr. Kafi was very sweet and comforting. She is such a compassionate and kind clinician. She explained everything every step of the way, ensured I was super comfortable, and gave positive assurances whenever possible. It was painless, smooth, easy, and stress-free. It was quicker than I thought it was going to be. The whole procedure including the anesthesia went for an hour, and I left with no pain or soreness, just the numbness from the anesthesia which is expected and normal. After the procedure, the assistant showed me where the bathroom was. The receptionist ensured I picked up a little free lip balm for my ride too. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Dr. Kafi and her clinic staff. I highly recommend this clinic for an easy, pain-free, and comfortable visit. If there's any other procedure I need done, I would come back here with no hesitation. read more

I had anxiety about this appointment for weeks, but it turned out to be the most wonderful root canal experience I've ever had (I actually had two at once). Everything was explained before and during, which made the process so much easier. Dr. Kraut also uses the gate control theory (applying vibration to the cheek) while doing the numbing injections, which made them completely unable to be felt. The numbing injections are usually the most painful part of any dental procedure for me, so I was shocked to feel absolutely nothing. I wish more dental offices would understand and apply gate control theory methods when administering injections, because it makes them painless. I felt no pain during or even after the root canals were finished. Nobody likes a root canal, but Dr. Kraut makes the experience extremely pleasant. The office is also very clean and contemporary and the front desk people are very nice. Can't recommend this place enough! read more

I recently went to East Side Endodontics to have my 1st Root Canal. My Anxiety level was beyond escalated. From the minute I arrived the receptionist was very Attentive and Knowledgeable as well as the technician. I met with Dr. Kafi. She examined me and reassured me. Dr. Kafi even filled my Religious needs by taking the time to Pray with me. Now who does that? Only someone as Caring and Compassionate as Dr. Kari. She took the time to explain everything Before she did anything, which was very Helpful. One of the things she did was to apply gel to my gums before using the numbing injections, which helped it to not be painful. I felt no pain the entire procedure. Dr. Kafi, herself even called me the next morning to see how I was doing. Need a root canal? This is the place to go. Here's my fun story. I developed bad tooth pain on a Friday evening and had to wait until Monday (2/27) to be seen by my dentist. By then it was severe, radiating pain and I was boarder line tears. I was told grinding my teeth wore down the fillings, let an ugly infection start and I will be needing a root canal. Unfortunately, I couldn't be assessed by their endodontist until the 18th of March! The antibiotics gave me relief and I used the next day (2/28) searching for somewhere to take me and at least get an assessment on how to proceed. I called 5 places and the closest appt I could get was March 9th. Insane. Then I found East Side Endodontics. They were so understanding of my pain and squeezed me in THE NEXT DAY, (3/1). I saw Dr. Tanjit Taggar for assessment and was able to come in, again, THE NEXT DAY for the procedure! Dr. Taggar is fantastic! He could tell I'm not great with dentists, when I walked in with my therapy teddy bear, blanket and shaking like a leaf. He was patient, professional, kind and gentle. He let me wear sunglasses and my ear buds to relax. He went through the whole procedure before hand and just sat with me a little so I could calm down. Very thorough, explained everything he was doing step by step and no pain. It's now 3/6 and all pain is gone. Thank you East Side Endodontics! If you have any issues at all with dental work, don't hesitate. Come here. Dr. Taggar did a fabulous job and every staff member I interacted with was attentive, respectful and empathetic. Wow, this place is beautiful, plenary of parking, and wonderful staff. So clean, what I found to be state of the art equipment, and careful during the pandemic. I had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Kraut, who is amazing. Kind, compassionate, and thorough through the whole visit. Always making sure I was ok, letting me know "exactly" what he was going to do and "why", and made easy conversations to make me as comfortable as I can be. Every staff member is really nice and seems to care and want you as comfortable as possible. I have had bad experiences getting root canals done so if you have too you should go to East Side Endodontics! OK, Folks here is the low down, I am scared of dentists, it's one thing to have a filling, however a root canal shook me to the core (Told you I'm scared). My experience with East Side Endodontics could not have gone better. Dr. Tangit Taggar and his dental assistant Ade were great, Dr. Taggar explained the process, both he and Ade made me feel very comfortable. To me the injection of Novocain was always uncomfortable, Dr. Taggar administered the Novocain in a manner that was absolutely painless did not feel a thing. The root-canal was completed, with very little if any discomfort, I was amazed and felt silly for being so nervous in the first place. If you need a root canal and are apprehensive (Scared) like me. When I rate as 5 Star, it should be 5 Star PLUS! As soon as I walked through the doors and headed to the reception desk and Maria greeted me, I knew I was in good hands! She was so pleasant, understanding of my fear and let me know I would be just fine. Maria was spot on! Dr Kafi and her assistant were amazing! Dr. Laila Kafi is the epitome of phenomenal. I have the WORST anxiety when it comes to any type of medical procedure(sweating, shaking, crying, my heart beats out of my chest, uncontrollable talking lol), so you can imagine how nervous I was knowing i'd be conscious during my root canal- this was the most informative, PAINLESS dental work i've ever experienced in my life! The entire staff is extremely knowledgeable and patient, I told them how anxious I was and they were able to give me some medicine to relax my nerves. Within a half hour after taking it I was calm as can be, they brought me to the back, did some xrays, explained what to expect, and got right to work. Dr. Kafi was so comfortable and at ease during the treatment, it gave me the peace of mind I needed. She let me listen to my headphones and wear sunglasses so what she was doing wasn't as intimidating because I couldn't see. The ENTIRE procedure was PAINLESS; they numbed the area with topical gel before they injected the actual numbing solution into my gums so I didn't even feel a pinch!!! It took less than an hour to complete and I feel like a million bucks! IF YOU NEED A ROOT CANAL VISIT DR. KAFI!!!!! I need some more dental work done and I can ASSURE you i'm coming right back just for her! Dr. Laina is amazing!! I've had 2 root canals done by her and let me say- the reputation of root canals are far exaggerated. At least in her case!! She makes the procedure fast (done in 45 min in both cases) and painless. Just minor soreness the day after. I asked for extra Novocaine as well as a pill to calm me beforehand. You just arrive 15 min early and they'll do that for you. You just need someone to pick you up. There is a parking lot on the side of the building. It's small FYI. The waiting area is cozy, lots of magazine choices and you don't feel like you're on top of everyone else waiting. But it all boils down to Laina and her team. They put on your choice of music based off Pandora. They ask you several times if you're comfortable and they make small talk during the procedure to keep your mind occupied. I'd go nowhere else for a root canal!! No way!! read more

It was recommended for me to come her by my primary dentist. I was having mouth pain that was not related to a cavity or anything in my gums. The whole process to get in was very easy. They were able to get me in the following week of me talking to them after seeing my dentist. Everyone was very nice from the person I talked to for my appointment to the person who helped me when I checked in. I saw Dr. Kraut who very nice also. He explained everything that he was going to do and what I should feel or expect to happen. I have extreme anxiety with dental procedures and can be very difficult to work with. I went to doctor Tanzi for my first root canal ever and was extremely upset and on edge. Dr. Tanzi and her assistant were beyond patient and accommodating and took the time to ensure that I would not feel any pain. They did not make me feel rushed at any point or indicate that taking it slow would be a problem for them. It definitely made the entire process easier for me. They were great at managing my pain and anxiety and I made it through the procedure without the slightest discomfort. If you are someone who struggles with this sort of this thing, I would definitely recommend this office as well as Doctor Tanzi. read more

The women at the front desk was rude, uncaring and seemed pre-occupied with herself.. telling me that 'the doctor will look at my xray if she has a chance to'. 1 1/2 days went by with no phone call. After a bad experience with my previous dentist involving a root canal, I was very afraid to have to have another one done. My sister recommended this place and I have to say I was in and out of there in 45 minutes pain free and smiling. They were very attentive and made sure that I would feel no pain before they even got started by administering a couple of simple tests such as cold air to be sure I couldn't feel anything. Such a wonderful staff I wouldn't hesitate if I was told I needed to have five more root canals. It was a breeze and the dentist and her assistant are fabulous as well as the rest of the staff. I was referred to Eat side Endodontics for a root canal. Went the first day late and they took me in. This appt should have never happened. I got half of a root canal. I went back for a second appt and not knowing there area getting there was a nightmare between traffic and waterman st being closed off. Talked to someone and they told me to still come in. When I got there they would not take me. I was never informed that a broken appt would be 250. This is more than my root canal co-pay. Called them back twice to see what my options were for completion and never received a call back. I've had half a root canal now for a month. Called today and I'm just learning about owing 250 for a broken appt. I understand many Drs have fees for a no show but this is ridiculous amount and I did show. I was just informed that 1 hour was not enough to finish half of a root canal. The first appt should have never happened. Very unprofessional as well to leave a patient with half a root canal and never call back after I called twice. Hopefully the temporary fully does not come out and get infected before I can get in somewhere else. read more

Dr Kafi and her entire staff were so incredibly kind, understanding, and gentle with this big wimp! From the first phone call, to the office environment, to the front desk personnel, to the dental assistant, to Dr Kafi herself, the entire experience put me at ease with the root canal procedure. While its never comfortable to have your mouth propped open like that, there wasn't a bit of pain.
