First red flag. This dentist pumps radon into her water lol. Terrible intake. Had to send xrays twice. I had to send while on the phone to make sure they received & even though they were recent (within 3 years) she still made me get a new xray I didn't need to make more money. They make it out to seem like they can reimburse through insurance but they don't and make you do all the work to reach out to insurance to get reimbursed which I never did because they never confirmed they were out of network. I had a very uncomfortable and concerning experience with this dental office and would strongly caution others before going here. I scheduled a new patient appointment approximately two months in advance. Prior to being seen, I was encouraged to enroll in the office's dental membership program months before my actual visit, which was unusual and, in hindsight, appears financially motivated rather than patient-focused. The appointment lasted close to two hours, yet I only spent approximately 20 minutes with the dentist. During that time, the dentist made unsolicited and unsubstantiated claims about my overall health, stating she could identify "gut issues" based on my appearance. She then strongly pressured me to see a specific outside provider charging approximately $1,600 per visit, and implied that any dental treatment would fail if I did not follow her recommendation. This was inappropriate, outside the standard scope of dental care, and presented in an alarmist and coercive manner. The interaction was distressing enough that I left the office in tears. After my appointment, I attempted multiple times to obtain information about my X-rays, recommended treatment, and an estimate of costs. I called the office approximately 10 times, and each time I was told that staff were unsure and would follow up, but I never received a clear response. I was eventually told that this information could not be provided over the phone, which had not been communicated to me previously. The lack of clear communication and inability to provide basic information about my treatment plan added to the overall confusion and frustration. Following this experience, I attempted to cancel the membership. My written cancellation request was ignored, and my card continued to be charged. I was only able to stop the charges by contacting the third-party provider (Clerri) directly. Only then did the office acknowledge the cancellation. I was not provided with any information indicating that cancellation had to be completed through a third-party provider, and this requirement was not clearly communicated to me. Even after cancellation, the office continued to send repeated messages attempting to schedule appointments, despite no indication that I wished to return. Subsequently, I was told I was responsible for paying the full cost of services (cleaning and X-rays) that had already been covered under the membership plan. When I requested written documentation or a policy supporting this retroactive billing, none was provided despite multiple requests. Attempting to charge patients for previously covered services without a clearly disclosed policy raises serious concerns regarding billing transparency and fairness. I did not receive or sign any documentation clearly stating that this was a yearly membership or that I would be financially responsible for the full cost of services if I chose to cancel early. The office also indicated that they would send the disputed balance to collections, despite not providing documentation supporting the charge. Additionally, the office failed to provide my dental records, including X-rays, after I requested them. The office indicated that records would be released once the balance was resolved, suggesting that access to records may be contingent on payment. Overall, this experience raises significant concerns regarding ethical standards, billing practices, and respect for patient rights. I would strongly advise others to exercise caution before seeking care at this office. read more

I've always had a deep fear of needles, to the point of fainting during past medical and dental visits, but Dr. Castillo consistently went out of her way to help me feel calm, safe, and cared for whenever a procedure was necessary. Her gentle approach and genuine empathy made all the difference, and I always felt like more than just a patient in her chair. After 15 years under her care, I can say without a doubt that she is a rare kind of professional who truly cares about the well-being and comfort of those she treats. I was incredibly excited to see this dentist as I am a holistic practitioner, but she left me high and dry. She took forever (several weeks) to even follow up with me after the initial consultation that I paid for with her. By the way, as a new patient, you are required to pay for your consultation appointment over the phone BEFORE your actual appointment date, which is a very strange and awkward policy. Dr. Castillo called me TWO WEEKS after my initial and paid consultation with her to tell me that she doesn't feel confident to do the restorations I needed, which are specifically listed on her website that she does do restorative work (how confusing is that?). She instead referred me to a prosthodontist where I found out I NEVER even needed to waste my time and money to see this specialist, because I do not need or require dental implants at all! To boot, the specialist she sent me to was horrible and had the dirtiest dental office I've ever seen. What I needed, Dr. Castillo, was a competent, confident, compassionate, and knowledgeable dentist that wouldn't gaslight me. A dentist who would come up with a treatment plan with me to restore my enamel (my bone and roots are perfectly healthy and strong) after a decade of being extremely physically ill with autoimmune disease, now healed, and ready to fix the damage it did to my enamel, which I told you all about in trust, Since all of this unnecessary stress, I serendipitously found a highly reputable new dentist, even though not holistic, after being let down by Dr. Castillo and the "specialist" she referred me to. My new dentist is knowledgeable about my condition and why it eroded my enamel; a compassionate, honest, and confident dentist who made up a comprehensive treatment plan as a team with me, that is in the works, instead of leaving me hanging, defeated, and jerking me around-- like this dentist did. read more

I appreciate her holistic approach, including safer imagine and procedures. The office staff are courteous and helpful. Communication is inconsistent. A lot of times no one answers the phone, if you leave a message, they don't get back to you or take over a week to respond, emails aren't always answered. It's hard to have a positive experience when something as basic as good communication is missing and, in a healthcare setting, it's extremely unprofessional to not respond to your patients in a timely manner. The administrative processes of this clinic need to be improved significantly. read more

I feel like I've been looking for Dr. Castillo and her team my whole life! I have a true dental phobia, stemming from an unfortunate childhood experience. The entire staff was so kind and patient with every single encounter--from the front office to the dental staff. During the procedure, Dr. Castillo was extremely gentle and explained everything she was doing. As much as I still hate going I love Dr. Castillo. She totally tries to make this the easiest experience plus she's funny. She actually makes going suck slightly less. I love it here! I am a new patient and just had my second visit today. Everyone is incredibly kind, from the front desk staff to the hygienists and Dr. Castillo! The office is pretty timely - both times I've been, I sat only a few minutes late (better than many offices I've been to!). The front desk is very well organized, friendly and helpful. Comfortable cozy office with very nice staff. My hygienist who I have been seeing for 2 years now is always attentive and listens to any concerns or questions I may have. Very thorough with her cleanings! Dentist is very friendly and informative. I'll admit it - I hate going to the dentist. Very high on the list of things that make me melt with anxiety. Yelp apparently didnt believe my last review was real. But it was as i am leaving another. This team is truly amazing. I, who had not been to a dentist for a few years due my crippling fear had decided to try to go here. And i am so thankful that i did. Previously my fear was so intense that i would make an appt at other dentists offices and would literally run out and go home while waiting to be seen. When i first started to go here, i would have to take something to try and calm my nerves. I have going here for about 3 years now and really havent needed to take anything b4 my appts. They understand and go out of their way to make sure you feel safe and comfortable.
