For example, I had historically been low in vitamin D. My 'traditional' MD/ PCP kept telling me to 'take more vitamin D' like I was forgetting to do so. I was not forgetting, and was taking so much vitamin D on a daily basis, one of my family members mentioned you can actually overdose on vitamin D. This comment gave me pause to think about exactly how well, or unwell, my healthcare really was and began my search for a new health care provider. On my very first consultation with Dr. Frodermann, she knew exactly why I was always low on vitamin D, added a natural supplement to assist with absorption to my daily vitamin routine, and I have never been low on vitamin D since! All those years of 'take more!' was never going to fix the issue. I should have come to Dr. Frodermann sooner. This is just one example of how Dr. Frodermann has changed my health, and therefore my life. It is a health journey and she is an advocate helping to figure out what is needed to stay in good health as we age. I'm definitely not one to 'pop a pill' for what ails me. I'd much rather adjust my diet, add an exercise, take Epsom salt baths, make bone broth or use a caster oil pack for example if that is what it takes to feel good. I had searched the internet for years looking for ways to feel better. It's so much easier to meet with Dr. Frodermann, having the benefit of her wisdom and experience to point you in the right direction. In the state of RI, naturopaths are not covered by insurance although they are licensed by the state and the RI association of Naturopathic physicians is trying to arrange insurance coverage (You can check out https://www.rianp.org/ to find out how that process is going). In the mean time, if you wish to see a naturopath in RI, it is out of pocket. If you are not getting results from your PCP, are tired of always being tired, or just not feeling like anything you have tried is working, maybe it's time you add a naturopath to your health care family. Dr. Behtash was recommended to me by my doctor at Memorial Hospital, Dr. Susanna Magee - who was my doctor for both of my pregnancies. I enjoyed Dr Magee's style, ease of emailing communication, and asked for her to recommend a local provider to be my regular physician. Dr. Behtash runs a micro office, which allows her to spend a ton more time with her patience -- you set up your appointments, and even email her through an app or online. This helps because she is the one who writes back to you - not a nurse! My first visit with her was about an hour. She took the time to truly understand me and my history, and has been incredibly kind at subsequent visits. She is young, knowledgable, warm, and welcoming - and I 100% recommend her to others! My husband just made the switch, and he said the quality of care was unlike anything he had ever experienced. And the best part - barely any waiting for my appointment!

They are a full service healing center that offers quite an impressive menu of holistic treatments that are 100% client focused. Therapists are knowledgeable and incredibly able to contour every treatment to the client's needs or requests. I have been in with Stanley for a 70 minute deep tissue massage. Stanley is incredibly talented and focused on your body and body responses. He is professional and thorough. The deep tissue experience is just wonderful - especially for those that are on their feet for their profession - Nurse, etc.. I have scheduled another massage with Stanley and cannot wait to go back. It really helps to detoxify the body, loosen the muscles and clear the mind. I recently went in for a 70 minute hot stone full body Swedish massage with Kayla. Kayla is a very skilled and masterly in her craft. Her massages literally take you to another place. I was so calm and relaxed when I left I had to sit in my car for a minute before I started driving! The facial starts out well. Cleansing, exfoliating, microderm, all fine. Then she asks if I want extractions for an extra $10. I have literally never gotten a facial costing over $40 where extractions weren't included... But I go for it since I'm on a Groupon. She gets the tip of my nose and that's it. Seriously? I KNOW my skin isn't so perfect that it doesn't need extractions. It had been months since my last facial! Moving on. She puts the mask on. She's mixed in tea tree oil which starts to sting my face, so I let her know. She is very nice and takes it right off and applies some aloe instead. Here's the problem: she was just bragging to me about how cheap aloe is, $1.49 at the store. Then she goes and puts it on my face as my mask, and never puts another one on after the tea tree one. So the $1.49 aloe is my mask. Sorry, but I could have done this at home. Then the facial is over. It lasted 50 minutes. No massage. No head rub. No real mask, hardly any extractions. Total "value": $143 not including tip. I mean... So then I email them my grievances and explain why I didn't like my experience. No one answers. Instead I start getting mass promo emails. I even respond to one of them reminding them that I had messaged them with some feedback. Again no answer. Bye bye Dharma! I drive over an hour each way to see her and it's been so worth it. I originally went to see Marisa for extreme anxiety and ongoing sleep issues, after trying what felt like every modality out there: somatic exercises, journaling, therapy, BIT, meditation, breath-work...you name it. While many of those helped in their own ways, nothing truly moved the needle for me the way hypnoacupuncture with Marisa has. From my very first session, there was an obvious shift. Even the people around me noticed. After that first session, the tension in my shoulders decreased, and the only way I can describe it is that everything (physically & mentally) felt like it had been taken down a notch. Since working with her, my sleep has completely transformed. I went from having an extremely hard time falling asleep and waking up almost every hour, to now pretty much sleeping through the night. If I do wake up, I can fall back asleep easily, and I'm even dreaming a lot which I take as a sign I'm finally getting deep, restful sleep. I've seen such drastic improvements that I genuinely feel like I have a new baseline. Getting appointments with the practice has been notably smooth throughout my time with them; the staff is willing to work with you based on your needs and clinician availability. I've also enjoyed seeing a few of the other practice members (eg Benitez, Berg, Rodriguez), each of whom is thorough, knowledgeable, and helpful. The use of the Healow medical app as a portal, and their fully integrated connectivity to electronic medical record systems, has given me peace of mind that all my instances of care are suitably connected in one place. It's also convenient to be able to head downstairs for a quick and easy blood draw when required - and again, clear results are available in the app shortly thereafter. I've also noticed the patient set is younger than it used to be - not just geriatrics anymore. As important as anything above, Dr Ruggieri is friendly and engaged during visits, as the rest of the staff I've dealt with are also. I definitely have a "medical home" at Wayland Medical.
