This is one of our favorite all you can eat sushi spot! Their sushi is fresh, clean, and so satisfying! They also have other good items in the menu for others who may not be in the mood for sushi... pot stickers, fried rice, soup, fried salmon, fried shrimp, calamari, edamame, ice cream and so much more! The staff are friendly and the restaurant is clean and spacious. I highly recommend this spot to fulfill your sushi cravings!

Decent spot for all you can eat sushi with fresh and thinly cut sashimi. We went during dinner time and it was around $35 per person. Yellowtail and salmon sashimi stood out to me the most. Their hand rolls are also amazing. Service was quick and efficient. Ask for wasabi and ginger if that's your thing! And don't forget to order your ice cream:)

Tokyo sushi has a parking lot that it shares with other businesses. I think the dinner is a good price for ayce sushi. I always get sat right away and a waiter is normally with our table shortly to take our drink order. The food is typically good, I've been here numerous times and only once was it not good. I feel like the nigiri has a little too much rice for how thinly sliced the seafood is- I wish the seafood cuts were a little bigger/thicker. They always play good music and the bathrooms are always clean. I went yesterday and it was really good. I got my food promptly and everything was tasty. I'd recommend this place if you're really hungry and craving sushi.

what i got: miso soup + sweet potato roll & chicken tempura roll most generous size miso soup i've ever had & had a nice mild flavor. idk where they get their scallions but they didn't wilt & had the perfect flavor and crunch. the tempura on both the rolls were crunchy. the sweet potato roll was HUGE i never had such a fat sp roll before. the sp flavor is very mid. i really only taste the eel sauce which has a more sweet and bold flavor than other eel sauces i've had. not my favorite. the chicken tempura roll had lettuce in it, that was a first for me. i wasn't mad at it but when dipped in the soy sauce it tastes very american bbq it was giving 4th of july sushi chicken burgers. not bad but not much flavor. service was quick & staff were nice.

I did the AYCE I ordered multiple nigiri and 2 rolls The nigiri sizes where very small , but I guess it's because it's AYCE , the rolls where decent sized and the cones where surprisingly large . Server was very nice and attentive , I went during lunch time so it wasn't too busy. Dinning area was clean , didn't use the restrooms , so I can't say . I suggest they list three price for the AYCE , I didn't see it at all I didn't mind it , but I'm sure someone will complain about it if they're tight on cash.

I came her with my wife for a special date night sushi splurge not too long ago. We usually love to go to Kyoto for our AYCE sushi experiences but we decided to give this place a try for a change after I drove by it during work one day. We are happy we gave this place a shot. First off, the inside is very sleek, modern, and cozy. Perfect for a date night or celebratory get together with friends and family. The inside was decorated with seafood and they did not disappoint on the seafood front. We like fish sushi but we really are bigger fans of crab and shrimp sushi and their AYCE menu has a good mix of specialty rolls that showcase both. We especially liked that real snow crab was a featured protein in their rolls and not just fake crab (sirimi) like at other joints. This crab is the real deal without much of a price difference. I fell in absolute love with their Tiger Roll. It is basically a jalapeno popper had a baby with crab sushi and it is pure, culinary bliss. I ordered a couple of those rolls for just myself, they were so good. A little on the rich side so they will fill you up faster but well worth it. My wife and I may have found our new go-to AYCE sushi place. Very good and not too far out of the way from the metro. Give it a try the next time you are in West St. Paul.

Tokyo all you can eat sushi is phenomenal! Everything was cooked to perfection and the service was fast! We were in and out within an hour. The restaurant is very nice inside.

Wading into All You Can Eat
Jennifer A.

For me, eating sushi is always some sort of battle with a negotiated peace treaty between my hunger, the deliciousness of sushi, and the expense of satisfying that hunger in the best, most satisfying, least expensive way. But when one enters an All You Can Eat sushi restaurant, the battle is turned on its head. Suddenly, it becomes, for me, anyway, strategy about how best to fit all the delicious things into me before I get too full. Tokyo Sushi offered that chance, and for that, I feel grateful. It was $30 for my husband and me to eat, but only $15 for our son. It is not cheap, but there is also an additionally fun game of trying to eat enough to make it worth it. What it meant for our son was that he was able to try things we would likely not want to spend the money on. He tried spicey salmon and tuna rolls (pass). He tried their fried rice (ok, but too many bean sprouts). He tried their red bean ice cream and their green tea ice cream (big wins). The portions are very small, but there are no limits to ordering. We tried lots of sashimi (rice makes you full!), nigiri, rolls, soup, and even a sushi pizza. It was a fun meal in a clean, quiet atmosphere, made better by an attentive and dry-humored waiter as well as a robot who brought out our food. The sushi itself was not great. The tuna tasted fishy, and the fish in general did not have a lot of flavor. So, if you are looking for really good sushi, this is not the first pick. But if you are looking for a fun way to try a lot,or you are just really hungry, or you want to see a robot bring you sushi, it's a fun place to go.

This location opened recently in the strip mall near Goodwill. The decor is clean, modern and accommodating. My college daughter wanted Sushi and my wife doesn't eat it -- or like buffets, so Tokyo sushi ended up being the perfect fit. It's not a buffet -- you pay one price and order as much as you want from the menu. And, their selection of non-sushi items in both vast and tasty. We tried a wide range of dishes during our visit, including soups (onion was awesome), sushi rolls (spicy rolls were a favorite), sashimi, teriyaki (teriyaki chicken was served cold - meh), crunchy chicken curry, Teppanyaki noodles (awesome), and shrimp and eggplant tempura. With the exception of the Chicken teriyaki, everything was a hit. Priced competitively with nearby buffets, but you get to dine on made-to-order dishes, on real plates. Highly recommended.

Good food and lots of it. Extensive menu items at all you can eat. Great for large and small parties of people with plenty of accommodation. I've been a few times and it has been consistantly good. Friendly service and staff makes this place sit nicely with four stars!

The price was more expensive than the initial buffet, but it was well worth it with the choices that were served. Soft shell crab, frog legs, snow crab, and many more seafood dishes we're served alongside traditional buffet dishes. You can also pick up items from the sushi counter, the hibachi grill, pho station, or dim sum station. You will not be wanting for variety here. Service was very friendly and the staff were very quick to remove plates, trash, and any items to keep the tables nice and clean. Stafford also very friendly and chatty and really brought the experience together. A great way to kick off the year. We will have to make note of this special buffet for years to come. Regardless, this buffet always receives high marks from the locals and has been enjoyed by us when we've come in the past during their non-holiday buffet days.

I did not expect to see the lobby filled with people lined up to pay for their meal or to get seated. The Thanksgiving rush seems to be between 5 and 6 PM. I enjoyed trying things like squid salad and fried sushi. The squid salad was a little tough, but tasty. The fried sushi had melty avocado and cream cheese inside. Thanksgiving featured turkey that seemed to be seasoned with ginger, which was a nice change. I was pleasantly surprised by the fried frog legs, and I wish I knew how to get more meat from the fried tilapia with the tongs they provided. The tiny chunk I got was very good. As I hoped, the Chinese restaurant standards like baby bok choy, beef broccoli, and dry-fried beans were pretty good. Thanksgiving dinner had a Black Friday sale vibe about it, with people walking swiftly back to their tables, plates piled high with oysters or crab legs. My spouse thought the oysters smelled fishy so I'm glad I just got one for each of us. Given the busy-ness, the staff kept the buffet area reasonably clean and pleasant to use, but I still ended up with stray seafood stuck on the bottom of my shoe. The staff I interacted with were pleasant and helpful, but I was disappointed that I got no response from the management after asking about the Thanksgiving buffet through their website form on Monday. I thought three days was a decent response window. Like Tokyo itself, there was not much Japanese food at Tokyo 23, but I knew not to expect it. The bathrooms were decorated with images of women dressed in Japanese kimono, but they looked like knockoff copies of Japanese art. I did like the Chinese decorations in the entryway and the kitschy selfie-ready fountain and fiberglass figures.

Flavor of the fried rice was on the blander side by itself but when you mix it in with the meat it fixes that problem. Also the staff were really nice :)

I have witness more than once when I go there etiquette are not being enforced on people that eat there. During dinner time I went I saw a young boy around the age of 12+ constantly picking food with his hands. At his age he should know better but I feel like the worker working by the food should have said something. He picked a crawfish, crab claw, cookies, and sushi with his bare hands. This same boy also grabbed a bowl, walked around rubbing, fisting the inside of the bowl and proceeded to put back that same bowl back with the clean bowls. Again the worker just watched him and did nothing. A previous time I went I saw a older lady complaining to the old men that works there about how cold the string beans was. When she got done talking to the old men she picked up a wonton with her hand that had gloves on in front of the old men that works there. He said nothing to her. Tongs are there for a reason to pick up food. Another incident a lady dropped a wonton on the ground. Instead of her just leaving it on the ground she thought she was doing good by picking it up and placing on the counter. Little did she know that 5 seconds later a worker picks up that dirty wonton on the counter and puts it back with all of the other wontons. I get the place does not want to be wasteful. However when food is out of the tray and on the counter it should not get placed back with the clean food. They use a all purpose rags to clean the counter. Nasty stuff gets spread from those rags. Now people are eating contaminated food. All of my experiences in this buffet has to be some kind of health violation. It is just beyond nasty. I will not likely go back to this buffet.

Drinks took a bit to get refilled, several orders were wrong (chowder instead of bisque, salad(s) placed in front of the wrong guests), but in his defense we didn't say anything and therefore didn't give them any opportunity to correct the issues. The one thing that was surprising was when I found a ladybug (or Chinese beetle) in my Caesar salad. I don't fault the restaurant for this, the dang things are all over my house sometimes too, however the server didn't even acknowledge it when we showed him the crouton with the critter that was set aside on my app plate, he simply made a confused face and took the plate away. Overall just an awkward interaction, maybe he was surprised I was still eating the salad. All that said, I'd go back and just cross my fingers for a different server.
