Only giving it 2 stars because our cook was friendly and a jokester. I definitely had better teppan elsewhere. First time here and the ambience was pretty dead, seems like only regulars go there. Very outdated looking. I ordered the NY steak and added scallops. This place doesn't have combos like other places, they also didn't have anything we asked for like pepper or anything spicy besides siaracha. Place wasn't packed when we came so I don't understand why service was a little delayed. My scallops weren't cooked the way I liked it, a bit on the tougher side. Sushi was alright nothing special.

The food was great! Great flavor, the staff was on top of it, never had to ask for a drink refill they were just on it. The place was average, not loud at all. This place is very affordable & I'll definitely be coming back!'

Ambiance: There is a lot of indoor seating and we only had to wait ten or so minutes to get seated on a Friday night. The staff were super friendly! They kept asking us if we needed anything and were very attentive. Taste test: This was my first time at a steakhouse and I will say that the food was good! I'm usually not a fan of Miso soup but the one here was tasty There was no powerful flavor that is usually offsetting to me. The rice was flavorful and if you want it to be more spicy you can ask for a sriracha. The noodles and chicken were cooked well and had a nice flavor to them. They give you lot of veggies! Defiantly a place I will come back to.

Ask the Community - Tokyo Steakhouse

What time is the lunch Teppan-Yaki on a weekday?

    Mon-Thurs 11:30am to 3:30pm Fri 11:30am - 2:30pm

Are they accommodating to special diets and allergies?

Yes they do. If you ask them to withhold something for an allergy, they will. Even if there's separate groups at the table. I've seen them make separate fried rice because someone was allergic to bacon.

Great tasting ramen!…read more My family and I made this place a pit-stop for dinner on a Sacramento to Los Angeles trip. Our original target was the Fresno location, but due to a GPS entry error, we ended up at their Clovis location! It was a little longer drive than usual, but still well-worth the drive. And besides, we were on a family long weekend break so who cares about distance... Our orders were quickly taken on the counter and we were off to find our table. A lot of places to choose from inside and outside seating was also available. And the place was nicely decorated and well-lit! Feels comfortable to dine inside! The menu was quite expansive. And you even have the choice of minor changes to the regular menu. I ordered an Oxtail Ramen...a first of this kind for me, so I just had to have it. And it passed with flying colors! Weird ingredient...but absolutely tasty! And at a really affordable price range! You just have to try our this place when you're in the area! You will love it!

Good amount of tables and seats. Simple, minimal decor and it was clean, from what I can remember. He got the Shoyu Ramen (#2) and I got the Spicy Miso Ramen (#4). We both agreed the broth wasn't as hot as we'd like and could use just a touch more flavor. Both were okay, but I preferred my broth more. I wish I paid attention to the fact that mine came with THIN noods though... I feel like I would've enjoyed my dish way more with thick noodles. To be honest, I should have done the build-your-own Ramen and selected everything I wanted myself... now I know. You live and you learn. The Wontons were good but we didn't eat much of it, as it came out the same time as the ramen. Once the ramen was served, our main focus was on that and that filled us up! Packed the rest to go. For this being our first time, it wasn't bad but it didn't wow us. If I'm being honest, so far-- the best Ramen we've ever had was in a small little shop we found while in Thailand back in March (yup, Thailand!). Unfair to this rating maybe? But-- every ramen I try will be compared to that now (sorry, it was THAT good). Until next time, which there will be a next time (just unsure how soon that will be)... they get a middle placement.

I've found it rare to find AYCE (all you can eat) sushi on California. I didn't think Fresno was a sushi hot spot or anything. So, I came here with a couple of others that wanted to try it out. Dinner was the better option as it offers all of the traditional sushi and sashimi. We got seated just fine by the friendly host and I hear this place can get pretty crowded. Looking over then menu I notice it's more mainstream oriented, like for people who just order rolls cause that's what they think sushi is. No super exotic fish or anything or even salmon roe (Ikura). The menu lists the fish on top of rice pieces as "sushi" instead of nigiri. I'm surprised sashimi, (fish and no rice) is offered on the AYCE menu. Inside looks on the upscale side, so this is more of a "nice" place to go like on a date or something. We all went for the AYCE dinner for around $40 per person. That's about the going price for AYCE sushi these days. I started with the expensive stuff, like the sashimi and nigiri fish. I just got one roll. We were all sharing all the stuff we ordered. Sushi is supposed to be like that, a shared experience. The tempura fried shrimp was pretty good as were the rolls the other guys ordered. The fish quality was decent as was the service. We all stuffed ourselves as much as we could. I would recommend this place if you want to experience sushi and just pay one price and eat all you want. For the money, it's a decent deal.

When we first visited, it was also one of the few restaurants open during the holidays, which made getting that reservation feel even more special. Coming from Vegas, the beau is especially particular about sushi, and Oiza successfully exceeded expectations. As for me, having dined at Japanese restaurants from Nobu and Morimoto to Michelin-starred experiences, I was equally impressed by the ambience, service, presentation and overall execution. It also makes sense that the operation feels seasoned: Oiza is part of Lin's Restaurant Group, the same local family behind other Fresno-area favorites including Hino Oishi, J-Pot, Spicy J's, Ramen Hayashi and Lin's Fusion. It's obvious the staff has been properly trained in both front- and back-of-house fine dining operations. We've now dined here three times -- each for a different experience -- and Oiza has delivered. First Holidate: Fabulous evening from start to finish. Everyone from our server to management checked in on us, service felt polished without being intrusive, and we appreciated the elegant attention to detail. Bonus points for being seated side by side. We ended up closing out the restaurant as the last two guests to leave. Hamachi ceviche -- Exactly what an appetizer should do: whet your appetite for more. Salmon spoons -- Tasty little bites. Wagyu gyoza -- Rich and indulgent. Miso seabass -- If miso seabass is on the menu, I'm ordering it. Definitely a reorder. Hi Tuna roll -- Unique enough that we ordered it again on our second visit. Yellowtail & salmon sashimi -- Excellent quality and freshness. Second Celebradate: We returned to celebrate a special industry achievement and arrived just in time for our 5:45 p.m. reservation. Although I had booked directly through Oiza's website via Tock, the reservation didn't appear in their system. Fortunately, I had the email and text confirmations, and the team graciously accommodated us after a short wait. We repeated several favorites and ventured into a few new dishes: Hamachi ceviche -- Worth repeating. Grilled oysters -- A welcome addition to the table. Uni udon pasta -- The one miss for us. I wanted more uni and umami depth; the noodles were slightly overcooked and the sauce could have been smoother. Hi Tuna roll -- Just as good the second time. Amaebi & yellowtail sashimi -- Fresh and beautifully presented. Our server Itzy was wonderful throughout the evening and surprised us with a complimentary dessert. We would have ordered the matcha parfait if we hadn't been so full -- or if Dubai chocolate wasn't already waiting at home. Third time was the charm: We came back for Oiza's impressive luncheon specials and loaded up on several of our favorites while finally trying the temakis. The perfectly crunchy seaweed made every bite, and the lunch offerings were such delicious, incredible value. Even the takeaway bags deserve a mention -- sturdy enough that they've earned a second life as reusable lunch bags. Do: Make a reservation. Try the lunch specials. Buy the gift cards. Don't: Eat the towelettes. ;) From Holidate to Celebradate to lunch date, Oiza has earned its place among our favorite Fresno special-occasion eatsplorations -- with enough value and variety to make an ordinary afternoon feel worthy too.

When it was time to get some food the next day, my daughter wanted to come here. It was a very hot day so my wife stayed home. It was just the kids and I. Walking in, I was curious to know how much the place changed since Tiger Bite Bowls closed. Not a whole lot really. The interior is very simple. Like a pho restaurant. We sat and looked at the menu. I know Teriyaki bowl is in the name, but I didn't see any bowls on the menu....not that I wanted one. Just an observation. Essentially the options are plates and sushi, so we did 2 of each, and later took a dragon roll home. Coming inside, it was initially welcomed because of how hot it was outside. But as our bodies began to cool down, I started to notice that it was a little warm in the restaurant too. It wasn't hot, but clearly they were concerned with their PG&E bill. I think one of the younger workers who arrived later noticed it too, because after they got there, the room temperature went down to a comfortable level again. As for the food, I was telling my daughter that it's too bad we didn't find Miso Hungry that day we were on the hunt for fried rice. Instead we had that horrible restaurant in Clovis. I think the only thing missing was the show you normally get with a tepanyaki restaurant. Was the good at the level of Hino Oisi or Edo-ya? Not quite, but it was still good. I like my fried rice a bit more crispy. The sweet and spicy sauce was an added bonus. Goes great on the fried rice! On everything really. Be sure to ask for some. As is always the case, one sushi roll isn't enough to fill a person up, so my son and daughter were still a little hungry. This is universal so no knock on Miso. I had my fill with my chicken plate and was able to share. I think the surprise was my son getting the salmon plate. So why only 3 stars? It's a hole in the wall, as evidenced by the fact that the restroom is out back in the alley, a few doors down. Nothing against a restaurant being a hole in the wall, but for $100 for 5 plates, no drinks, the food better be great, not just good. I feel like Miso is this areas version of Teriyaki Don, except Teriyaki Don is cheaper, with more options. I'm sure we will be back. Hopefully by then the menu will have expanded to include Teriyaki bowls or something

We ordered the baked mussels, the Miso Hungry Roll, and the New York steak and shrimp combination plate. The baked mussels were very good, and I especially loved the sauce. The sushi roll was well balanced, fresh, and had great flavor; everything combined really well without one ingredient overpowering the others. The combination plate came with a generous portion of rice, and the vegetables were perfectly cooked, still nice and crunchy instead of overly soft. The steak and shrimp were also flavorful and filling. The customer service was great, and the staff was very welcoming throughout our visit. My only criticism would be the pricing. The combination plates are over $20 each, which is similar to other well-known teppanyaki restaurants in town that also include miso soup and salad for the same price. I completely understand inflation is affecting businesses, but I did feel the prices were slightly high for what was included. That being said, the food and service were both enjoyable, and I would definitely stop by again once in a while.
