Only giving it 2 stars because our cook was friendly and a jokester. I definitely had better teppan elsewhere. First time here and the ambience was pretty dead, seems like only regulars go there. Very outdated looking. I ordered the NY steak and added scallops. This place doesn't have combos like other places, they also didn't have anything we asked for like pepper or anything spicy besides siaracha. Place wasn't packed when we came so I don't understand why service was a little delayed. My scallops weren't cooked the way I liked it, a bit on the tougher side. Sushi was alright nothing special.

We were created with a great smile and amazing service. Our chef was so much fun! He interacted with us all! The food was amazing and delicious!

The food was great! Great flavor, the staff was on top of it, never had to ask for a drink refill they were just on it. The place was average, not loud at all. This place is very affordable & I'll definitely be coming back!'

Ambiance: There is a lot of indoor seating and we only had to wait ten or so minutes to get seated on a Friday night. The staff were super friendly! They kept asking us if we needed anything and were very attentive. Taste test: This was my first time at a steakhouse and I will say that the food was good! I'm usually not a fan of Miso soup but the one here was tasty There was no powerful flavor that is usually offsetting to me. The rice was flavorful and if you want it to be more spicy you can ask for a sriracha. The noodles and chicken were cooked well and had a nice flavor to them. They give you lot of veggies! Defiantly a place I will come back to.

Ask the Community - Tokyo Steakhouse

What time is the lunch Teppan-Yaki on a weekday?

    Mon-Thurs 11:30am to 3:30pm Fri 11:30am - 2:30pm

Are they accommodating to special diets and allergies?

Yes they do. If you ask them to withhold something for an allergy, they will. Even if there's separate groups at the table. I've seen them make separate fried rice because someone was allergic to bacon.

The menu presented extensive and adventurous options that as first timers could have been intimidating but with the help of Donavin our delightful server, we selected the perfect seafood salad for the Mrs. and the curated selection of Maki (delicious sushi "tacos") that together made for the perfect share. Add to that a smooth Japanese beer and a surprisingly moderate overcast that made our dinner on the patio the perfect way to celebrate our first meeting 47 years ago. So when my son asked us to meet him, his lovely wife and our 3 granddaughters for dinner on a recent visit I didn't have my hopes up. Namikaze is a nice quiet restaurant that from its decor could easily be an Italian, French or American restaurant. Just change the paintings on the wall. The Menu is pretty expansive. A full menu of Sushi, noodles, gyoza and rolls made it difficult to choose but eventually we narrowed it down. I always try the Unagi (eel) at any sushi restaurant. It is my barometer for how good everything else will probably be. It was good. I also ordered the Kimono Roll while my wife had Shogun roll. We also tried the Chicken Gyoza. Everything was terrific. Excellent taste and fresh. Next time someone asks me about Fresno I'll say "Fresno! They have good sushi there". Definitely Recommended.

Whether you're craving sushi, teriyaki, or ramen, they really have something for everyone. The sushi and sashimi are incredibly fresh -- honestly some of the freshest fish we've had at any sushi restaurant. It tastes like the chef went out and caught it that morning. The 14-piece sashimi platter with a couple of rolls was more than enough for two people, and everything was excellent quality. The ramen is also fantastic, but fair warning: the bowls are HUGE, so definitely come hungry. Their garlic edamame is absolutely addictive, and we really enjoyed the poke in the seaweed poke salad, though the dish does lean very heavily on the seaweed, so just keep that in mind before ordering. The moment we walked in and sat down to our table, we did't feel welcomed. Our server was very short with us and seemed annoyed. Initially, they were pushy on having us order assuming we have been there before. It was our first time and we didn't even get a chance to look at the menu yet as we just sat down. Throughout the service, our server never offered us water or came to check up on us. It was an off vibe like they were having a bad day and it resonated to us. The food was a big letdown. We ordered the agedashi tofu, earthquake roll, big boy, fireball roll, and a sashimi appetizer. Each item we ordered had an issue. The agedashi tofu was super bland and the broth didn't pair well with it. I've had this dish several times at other locations and this wasn't up to par. The rolls were drowning in sauce and ruined their texture. The rice was also overcooked and very soggy. Soggy rice drowning in sauce is not a good combination. Lastly, the sashimi appetizer was served lukewarm. Each piece of fish had a mushy texture instead of being firm, and it didn't taste fresh. Perhaps serving them on top of ice to keep it cold would help. Plus, the miso soup was very salty. Overall, it was a very disappointing first visit, and unfortunately, I don't see myself coming back.
