We have been here several times and really enjoy it. The inside of the restaurant is nicer than most sushi places (different cultures have different ways of doing aesthetics). It is clean and quiet. I am not an expert at sushi but I have always enjoyed their dishes. They've always tasted fresh. What really sold me on this place was the professionalism of the owners. On one occasion we had a kind-of annoying waiter. Nothing crazy but she just was a little weird. Had takeout on college visit tot WSU. Very pleasantly surprised on quality of the sashimi and special rolls. Fresh fish and nice and spicy. I have access to good sushi in DC area and this was on par with typical good quality in my home region. Can't speak to the service since takeout but enjoyed. read more

This is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Pullman! The only one I know that serves, Japanese, this is the place I go to on the rare occasions that I have enough money to eat out. I have never had a problem with the servers - they have always been polite and very friendly. While it would be nice if they had more Japanese food on the menu (Oden and takoyaki, for instance) all of their food is delicious, and I usually just pick something at random off the menu because I know it'll be great. I have been Tokyo Seoul where located on 905 E Main St multiple times last year, because of it pretty near from my place. The restaurant is not spacious, but can be holding a group. It also has dinner and lunch for every taste. I kind of love this restaurant, not only its romantic atmosphere with some lovely waitress of waiters, also the awesome delicacy. The cute rose on each table, and the lighting also makes people feel definitely good. And the other parts, the loveliest dishes I have ever tasted are the special barbeque and the paradise roll sushi; the last chef got brilliant cooking skills. Nevertheless, they changed the chef... After that, you guys just need to consider something before order the spicy soondooboo, because of the new chef may not good at it, rhe makes it too spicy so that I think maybe only Indian and a part of Chinese can accept that. But if you guys are in a group, you can try that barbeque, it has really awesome tasty and you will love it, I promise. Also the service is sweet, every waiter or waitress is kind, just don't be shy to ask. The reason why I give 4 stars for this decent restaurant is everything are perfect but the only thing is that there are missing forks or spoons sometimes ... Sunday night(10/29). Very rude server!!!!! I ordered bibimbap last night and after 30 minutes, they gave me food without sauces for it, then I had to wait another 15' to get the sauces. The food was right in front of me and I could not eat it because I had to wait for the sauce.... One of the sever did not bother to stop when I came to the bar (near the kitchen) and ask for the sauce. She went straight to the kitchen after look at me....I don't know her name, but she is a small American girl. There were 3 servers, and maybe not all of them are bad.... The restaurant has been a good restaurant, and I used to go there a lot, but the service now is really bad ( this is not my first terrible experience that I had at this restaurant) and the quality of food is not improving... Being somebody who previously lived in Pullman during the recession (i.e. the period where it lagged furthest behind Moscow in anything cool or tasty), I was around when Tokyo Seoul first got started and was one of the few shining beacons of society operating in the city. Returning to the area last autumn I was so pleased to discover that this restaurant that I once frequented perhaps even more than my normal sushi appetite would dictate in hopes of keeping them in business has thrived and is helping to lead Pullman upward. I've never had any problems with service here, whether by luck or guile, nor have gone on any nights where the consistency was off. The fish has always been fresh in appearance and flavor, and I can't even say that it's good just for being this far inland. While it's not going to measure up to the best sushi places in Seattle it'd still be an acceptably good one there in my book. The only downside is that the price is a bit high but not enough to lose a star and for special occasions it's at the top my list locally. read more

I like this place a lot. It is the only place to get sushi in Pullman now, and it is the only place to get Korean food. But that alone would not be enough if the food was not also good, which it is. The sushi has always been very fresh, and the Korean dishes have been comparable to those I have had in cities where there is a large Korean population. I have never had rude or inept service, but I will say that it is not like you feel like a pampered customer. That, and the atmosphere (which could be more charming) is the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5. All in all, it is one of my favorites in Pullman by a lot! Perhaps this should be for stars. I didn't have any sushi, and they are really known for their sushi. Quite honestly, the sushi that I saw that went by our table looked really quite impressive. And it was very large portions. But we ended up ordering tempura vegetables, vegetable udon, and a beef stirfry. None of the more "bad" but we all found them very unimpressive. And again, and to do the quality of Japanese food we have had elsewhere, it is probably not a fair comparison or a Japanese restaurant that is out in the middle of nowhere. All the services always one of those things that is difficult to control, we found that no one really knew it was supposed to take care of us. Came up to the table and none of them took our order and that we tried to get people to take a little, they said they could not. Overall, it was just a mediocre experience. If I was to go back, and I would, I would try the sushi. It's just the idea of having raw fish eight hours from the nearest ocean that kind of is a bit under Irving to me. I would say if you're in the area, try it out. read more

My favorite Asian restaurant in town. Better than Red Bento as it's more authentic and the food tastes better too. The staff is usually always kind and attentive but they can sometimes be slow if they're busy which I understand since I work in the dining services business as well. soooooo muuuuch potential! I really want to love this place, as it's probably the only Korean restaurant on the Palouse (please let me know if I'm wrong on this - I'd love to try others!). Unlike the other reviewers, we had excellent service - probably due to the fact that it was empty late Sunday night, but still, our waitress was great! Tried the kimchi pancake, pork bulgogi, japchae, and a couple of different sushi. Huge portions, very fresh ingredients. Bonus points for offering amaebi, and for deep frying the heads, yummmm. My main complaint on this restaurant is that I feel like they are making the food bland, and doing so on purpose. The kimchi pancake, while cooked perfectly, was not spicy at all, just salty. I find it hard to believe that the Korean people running this restaurant are eating the kimchi that they are serving. The side dishes that accompanied entrees were the "safest" side dishes to offer - sadly they did not have the fish cake, fried smelt, pickled radish or dried anchovies that I look forward to at Korean restaurants :( I feel like this place has the potential to be authentic, but is choosing to water-down the spicy level and the "weird" dishes offered to cater to a particular clientele....come on Tokyo Seoul, give us the real stuff!! read more

Although you can get cheaper Asian cuisine in pullman, this by far is the best. The bento boxes are on point. The wait staff aren't very attentive, but the food makes up for it. The sushi is worth trying. Pretty good selection of food options. On the weekends be prepared for a wait as it can get very busy. After searching for a place to eat Dads Weekend our last choice was this place. Dad doesn't like sushi. We were pleasantly surprised!! They have many options that don't include sushi!! 1 star, because the other night me and my friend went to eat bibimbap, we noticed something smelled really bad, like the expired sour smell of meat from the dish. and we found out it was from the beef, we told the owner, the korean lady, but she told us very loudly, everybody were looking at us, she said this is how sesame oil......we trusted her, so we kept eating and that same night me and my friend got food poisoning. Nice and clean environment. The Korean BBQ is so good! the fresh made sushi is delicious, and my kids love their udon noodle.

Love this restaurant. For sushi on the east side of the mountains, it's one of the best. The service is a bit slow at times but they are very friendly and try and take care of you. Portion sizes are good, and the price is right comparatively speaking. It may be on the pricey side, but good fish is. I went to tokyo seoul last night and received the worst service of my life! I went with a group of four and they managed to bring everyone elses food out in a timely fashion but not mine, i just sat there for over an hour while everyone ate. Around the time we had to leave, to go to a show we had been planning on seeing later in the evening, they finally brought out my food. I never even was able to take a bite of it in the restaurant. And they still insisted i pay. This is common for tokyo seoul because they dont wait till everyones food is ready, they just bring them out as their made, so unless your willing to potentially get screwed out of eating your meal with whoever you came with, DONT GO HERE!!!!! read more

This place has no structure when it comes to their service. Their waitresses have to do everything. They have to host, take phone orders, bus and wait on tables all at the same time, which is why they are known for having slow service. They are understaffed as well. Food is excellent, but the owner needs to re-evaluate the structure and hire some hostesses and bussers. The servers do try their best but it is hard since their work environment is so chaotic! Toyko Seoul in Pullman has the best Japanese and Korean food in the area. They opened another location in Moscow, and unfortunately it's not as good, so I still head over to Pullman for a donburi, bi bim Bop, or bulgogi fix. Food is good. However, I've came here numerous times and watched how the people that work here get treated and it's extremely unpleasant to watch. My family and I were eating lunch on Easter Sunday and we watched our server get yelled (not just normal yelling) at. The sushi guy and the lady both yelled at her and she just stood there saying OK as she was getting attacked verbally. It happened infront of everyone and I felt so sorry for the girl that was serving us. It's not only unprofessional but you should not treat your employees in that manner or embarrassed them infront of the whole restaurant. They need to really work on how they treat their employees and how they talk to them. I can tell the servers that work there are unhappy and it just doesn't set a good atmosphere or the mood for my family that's trying to enjoy a good meal. I will order take out next time so I don't have to watch it happen again. read more
