This is a solid family-owned sushi spot located close to MSY airport! The restaurant is cozy and they have a variety of items including sushi, rice dishes, dumplings, and soup. Everything we ordered was promptly served and the waiter stayed attentive for our large group. I don't see mango with sushi often but the combination was very refreshing! Another notable dish was the salmon nigiri with garlic and chili oil - the fried garlic added a really nice crunch at the end of every bite. The fried rice with steak wasn't my favorite because of how chewy the steak was, but all of the sushi/nigiri tasted super fresh and also looked great in presentation!

We were out in Kenner and wanted good sushi. This place did not disappoint. We started with a tuna and jalapeno roll and it was so tasty. We then ordered a spicy tuna roll. It was great and they put a lot of spicy mayonnaise on top which is just how we like it. I then asked for an order of eel sushi which came with 3 pieces of eel. They had toasted it which added to the layers of flavor. We then ordered the LSU roll which was on the fried roll portion of the menu. It was really great and like nothing i had ever tasted. We also ordered a volcano roll and that was great. We don't get out to Kenner that often, but when we do, this restaurant will definitely be one of our stops.

Yes, I know that when in NOLA you must eat Cajun, but I have to tell you that one of the best meals I had during my last visit to NOLA was at Tokyo Grill in Kenner, LA. Our server - exceptional, the Sushi -delicious and fresh, the price - cannot be beat! Three of us ordered the Any 3 Roll, which comes with the choice of Miso soup or salad with ginger dressing ($12.95 each). We ordered the Haru Maki (fried spring rolls $4.55) and Seaweed Salad ($5.95) to share. Soft drinks are $1.50 each. Our total bill was $57.17 minus tip for the three of us. Yes, it's still a bit pricey for lunch, yet still cheaper than many competitors in the area. My Mom and Nancy couldn't finish their meal, leaving them leftovers. After devouring mine, I was stuffed the rest of the day; leaving the remainder of my daily cash allotment for daiquiris, beer, and hard liquor, nice! I ordered the Spicy Tuna Roll, Spicy Salmon Roll, and Crunch roll and went with the salad versus the soup. All of the food was delicious. I did not find any of the rolls to be overly spicy. Our server provided additional condiments at our request at no additional charge. She also provided Togo ramekins of our favorite sauces to take home with our leftovers; she was a sweetie! My Mom actually found this place the day previous when she took the grandkid's here for lunch. If it wasn't for Mom, we would not have never experienced Tokyo Grill; great job Mom! If you are in the area looking for some delicious Japanese food prepared without the use of MSG or other harmful chemicals than Tokyo Grill is the place for you.

This was the first time I've had Tokyo Grill in probably about a year but it's just the same as I remember it! They started doing their restaurant service again, but I normally always take out because they're always so fast and they're super close to my house. I ordered the hibachi shrimp and steak that comes with a generous portion of vegetables and an enormous serving of fried rice. Their quality is always great, and I did notice they were a bit more expensive than they used to be (but honestly what place hasn't gotten more expensive nowadays). I seriously love this place and never hesitate to come back! Super friendly and quick service too.

Food is always on point! The service is amazing. They their regulars and this is your sign to become one! I've been coming here for years this is my favorite sushi place. Tokyo Grill has the best prices in the area for quality sushi hands down. Also, they are open for dine in again! Love their atmosphere. I've loved this place for years. I was really looking forward to going here once I moved back to the area.This place doesn't look like much & it is easy to miss since It is located in a shopping center. But for years I've told people that they have some of the best hibachi. The portion sizes are huge. I included a picture of my vegetable hibachi plate. That is a kid's serving size & it comes with pineapples as a side. It's so much I could never finish it all in one sitting. Their sushi rolls aren't bad either. I've never had one I did not like. Definitely a solid place to try if you're looking for some sushi to go.

Decided to try Tokyo Grill this evening and I'm glad we did. Better than I expected. As you can see, I ate half the dinner before I remembered to take a picture! I ordered the Hibachi Steak which is steak tips stir-fried to perfection with a creamy pink dipping (remoulade?) sauce served on the side, plus the most amazing fried rice along with a medly of really delicious stir- fried vegetables. It was all incredibly good. My friend ordered the Miso Soup plus the Hibachi Steak and she loved it. There was a steady stream of take-out orders the whole time we were there. The service is fast and friendly. Very reasonable prices for the amount of food and the quality. Can't say enough good things about this place and I can't wait to go back! read more

This place is what I want from a casual Japanese restaurant. It is very well decorated, and although I did not have sushi, they had a nice sushi bar. Service was great, or waitress checked on us and never kept us waiting. The food arrived not long after I ordered. The food was fresh, and was a good price for a hearty meal. Service was good, but we went there for the food and unfortunately it was not great. However, it was the end of the night and 30 minutes before they closed. We both got an average Rock-N-Roll. The snow crab in it looked like it went into a blender and just wasn't good. The steak hibachi tasted old. Again, this was 30 min before they closed. read more

First and foremost I have a deep love for sushi. It ranks as one of my top 3 favorite styles of food...if not my favorite. If someone asks where to have lunch, dinner, snacks, anytime I'm more than likely going to recommend sushi. Tokyo grill is a solid place to grab lunch. Their service is fast and friendly. Their sushi is outstanding for the price and location. Every sashimi platter I've tried was fresh and at the correct temperature. Tokyo Grill brings Sushi to a New Level Here's a small place in a small strip mall in Kenner, La., that brings unusual excellence to sushi where sushi places are a dime a dozen. I've eaten at just about all the sushi place in the locality and have paid twice the price for sushi that was no better than this place. In fact I don't recall any other place that has any better. The owner is a very young man bent on pleasing his customers and to that extend he goes even beyond that in excellent service. My order consisted of the spicy tuna roll, spicy California roll, smoked salmon roll, and crab soup. All of this was excellent. Don't pass this place up. read more

I came here with my friends and got a negimaki beef bento box. Very nice portions for around 10 dollars. The box contained 5 negimaki beef. The beef was a bit too chewy. The flavor was light and savory, but the cream cheese was a bit too overpowering to the point where it was hard to taste the other flavors. The fried rice that came with it was too salty. The tempura was great though. Very crunchy and light. read more

Unfortunately, this was a big miss for us. Based on the great reviews, we drove about 5 miles with the intent to dine in. Upon arrival, we discovered that the dining area was closed and one of the workers told us that the owner had no plans to ever reopen the dining room. We placed a carryout order that included a salmon avocado roll, a Metarie Maki roll and an 18 piece Sashimi Combo, which came with a bowl of miso soup. The carryout order was packaged in a single bag that had a very hot container of soup laying on top of a thin container for the sashimi. We removed the soup container and I held it in my lap on the way home to avoid having hot sashimi. The miso soup was good. The salmon avocado roll was average, but no complaints. The Metairie Maki roll was bland, but edible. The sashimi, however, was horrible. The portion size for the sashimi was generous in that each piece was about 1/2" thick, but the salmon had a strange texture and odor and the white fish was simply inedible. Definitely not fresh. At all. Cannot understand, based upon our experience, how this restaurant ranks higher on Yelp than many of the other sushi restaurants that have much better quality offerings. read more

Ate dinner there last night, sushi was super fresh, our food came out in a timely manner, the waitress wasn't very friendly she never came back to the table after we received our food to check on us or refill our drinks, in fact she disappeared and reappeared as we were ready to leave except she didn't come to our table she just left, I'm guessing she was off ?!?! First off my sushi rolls were delicious. My crab roll was sooo fresh. My crunchy rolls were really good and crunchy, and the spicy crawfish was good too. The guys who prepared them were so awesome I really enjoyed the conversation we had. They suggested what rolls I might like and what I may not like. Never tried the sushi, but the steak Hibachi was outstanding. You can tell that the fried rice & vegetables were extremely fresh. Also, the fried rice was cooked to perfection and not over powered with soy sauce like most places fried rice. The staff was very courteous and were quick to take order. The server had some good suggestions. There are some very interesting rolls. Everything on the menu is reasonably priced. Bonus: For kids, they have kids meals! No, not chicken fingers and fries, but instead fruit, hibachi rice, and a choice of shrimp/chicken/etc. Love that. Makes this momma's life a little bit easier! read more

I'm in from Florida, and this could be the best sushi I've ever had! Clean, great service. Ordered the double spicy roll, yellowtail jalapeño appetizer, and pieces of octopus and tuna...the yellowtail almost literally melted in my mouth, the octopus and tuna were delicious, and the roll perfection. Really affordable and the food was fresh. The serving size was huge had a ton left for to go. Also the food came really quick and you could tell it was fresh. The price was amazingly affordable. I used to go to the Chinese that is next to the restaurant but this place is even better and the food is not pre-made. I definitely recommend this place and I will be back again for more. read more

This is truly a hidden gem ! The best fried rice I have ever eaten ... They use sushi quality rice .. The shrimp in the fried rice were abundant and delicious . The hibachi is awesome ... Prices were very reasonable / clean and have TV's for watching sports . read more

The sushi at this place blew me away. We had rolls as well as steak fried rice. When I saw how huge the portions were I thought "oh no, this is going to be crappy". Boy was I wrong! Rarely do you have value and quality wrapped together, but this place did it beautifully. This is a first visit, but will absolutely be the first of many. Do yourself a favor and eat here! read more

The drinks were cute but not that good; just for looks. Service was on point too. Super attentive, gave good recommendations, and didn't make us feel rushed at all. Only thing I'll say is it can get a little busy, but honestly that just tells you it's worth it. Definitely one of my go-to spots in Metairie now. I'll be back for sure.

The décor is welcoming with a cherry blossom tree theme. Lighting is conducive to easily reading the menu.

If I had skewed the ratio more in favor of the nigiri, that would have been more to my taste. Again, that's my fault. All-in-all, very good, and I left full, for a very reasonable price.

We are here today for Mother's Day 2026 and are having another great experience.

Gross & dangerous. Also, we don't care what YOUR lunch break is. You should advertise your actual operating hours, instead of the specific hours that you have your own damn lunch on your dry erase board out front. Stop frying everything days ahead of time & change your oil it's rancid as hell. Burnt ass cold shrimp is never good.

I haven't reviewed many places as I feel that people have different levels of taste, value, and quality. I went here when they first opened about 1 1/2 years ago. Not great wait staff and now I understand the reasoning for that-they DO NOT GET TO KEEP THE TIPS. The owner and his brother/cousins keep the tips for themselves. So, that explains why the staff offers limited service to the dine-in customers. Just recently many friends have said they are no longer dining at this establishment! They were smart enough to check on the Dept of Health and Hospitals website for their yearly inspection of the cleanliness and an overall inspection. I was curious-so, I checked it out. May seem clean in the front of the place-but, after reading the violations that still exist--NO THANKS. I would rather pay twice the price with a clean kitchen! Think before you eat here. They should spend those tips on some professional cleaning! SAD SAD SAD read more

This is my favorite place. Price is fair, best food quality, and highly satisfied service. I bring my family here every week, and sometimes order take-outs. Every time we came here, they always provided us the most friendly service and the best Japanese food.
