All my dad asked was "can you set these up for us". The worker looks confused and says nothing. My father tries to clarify himself because we don't know the proper terms, & before the last word could leave my fathers mouth, this worker rolls his eyes and condescendingly asked "you didn't do any research before you came in here"? He huffs and puffs then walks away from us saying "you need to do research before you come in here". I responded "okay we will" and that's when he perks up his attitude and says okay & bye.... He made it a point to show us how irritated he was by not only our questions but also by our presence. Not to mention the ONE customer you had in there seemed like they had just gotten chewed up by you for "not knowing their stuff" If you don't want to be open, close. If you don't want novice in your store put a sign on the door, so no one comes in and gets talked to like a nuisance. She advised me that the Technician was on break, then she then told me to bring my bike into the shop and someone would assist me. It was just a few minutes later, I met Hadrian. He and Whitney weren't sure how to make it fold either initially. Then, I remembered I had a manual ony phone. I showed it them. Hadrian and Whitney figured it out immediately. The next thing I knew, my bike was folded!!! He did it so fast, I barely saw what he did. It was as if he had been doing this for years. I tried and still couldn't fold it. I asked him to please show me again, he immediately obliged me. They absolutely positively unequivocally made my day! They were so welcoming, polite, courteous, personable. They provided me with outstanding customer service. REI is fortunate to have them as employees. Thank you Whitney and Hadrian for a job well done, I truly appreciate you. If anyone ever asks me to refer a Bike Shop, I guarantee it will be REI~this location.

I purchased a pair of softball cleats for my daughter online. Unfortunately, they ended up being too small. She wore them briefly while sitting in the dugout at practice, immediately realized they hurt her feet, and took them off. The cleats were essentially brand new. When I attempted to exchange them at the Fairfield store, I was met with resistance from management. Anna Pintane refused the return and was extremely condescending throughout the interaction. Instead of listening to my explanation, she lectured me about how cleats should be worn around the house before practice and even told me that if they didn't fit, I should sell them to a teammate or on Facebook Marketplace. I couldn't believe that was the solution being offered by a store manager. The entire interaction left me feeling dismissed and disrespected as a customer. Fortunately, I decided to try the Pleasant Hill location. What a completely different experience. Mike McKensy (store manager) was absolutely wonderful. He listened, understood the situation, treated me with respect, and promptly processed the return of the cleats that were still essentially new. He was professional, friendly, and focused on helping the customer rather than finding reasons not to. Mike turned a very negative experience into a positive one and restored some of my faith in Dick's Sporting Goods. Customer service like his is exactly what keeps people coming back. If you're shopping at Dick's, I highly recommend the Pleasant Hill store and especially Mike. He is an outstanding example of how customers should be treated.
