I showed Melissa ( the owner) a picture of what I wanted & asked if my fine/thin hair would be an option for me. She agreed, & went to work. First with some low lights, & then the cut & style. I would never leave a review for any place but I am so displeased with my hair even a week afterwards trying to remedy the situation on spending more money. I already spent 250$ for a complete hack job. I saw Vanessa on 6/5 and scheduled an appointment at 2:30 through online booking through their website. She pushed back my appointment to 3-4pm which I was ok with because I really needed my hair done and she said she had a big project so I was understanding. We kept in touch and I arrived at 4:15pm. I sat down and I had already sent her pictures of what I wanted on the way there. She sat me in the chair and asked me if I scheduled her through Groupon and I said no. So that was the first red flag. If I'm paying top dollar I'd like a master stylist. She immediately started cutting my hair, it was pretty long and dead and said she needed to cut some off which I was ok with because I could buy some extensions. But she didn't wet it. Now it's so short. Then she started painting color on- lightener and she wasn't even covering the whole area and she was painting my scalp even though I had told her beforehand to leave a cm of roots on my head. My scalp started burning. After not even painting my head right she put me under the dryer for 10 min. After 10 min didnt even check to see if it was brassy or not and immediately put me at the shampoo table. It's almost as if she had somewhere to be and she pushed back my time and I made the mistake of keeping that time. Then she was throwing tons of purple shampoo on my head because she knew she messed up and I knew she did too and I asked her is it "light enough" and she said yeah it will look really good- which I did not believe. Btw she was talking a million miles per minute and kept looking in the mirror at herself upclose at her face. I could see her from the shampoo station. Then she took me to the chair and it was soooo orange! And I didn't say anything at first. I let her blow dry it but it was so bad. Complete ring around my head. I wanted to go to this salon and feel better about myself walking out of there. I would've paid top dollar. Instead I walked out feeling crappy, trying to correct the situation, paying more money, and before I left I think Vanessa knew she messed up- she said we can do a root smudge (which I already had roots) dimensions (which she already should've done) and she told me to pick up purple shampoo and leave it on my hair at night to correct it (which is NOT what a salon should be telling their guests) read more

This is the best haircut I've ever had. (except for my "Dorothy Hammil" when I was a kid. I made an appointment without knowing any of the stylists there. I am very happy with Melissa (there are two Melissas - I am not referring to the owner, but I don't know her last name). I usually get a haircut once a year. I skipped 2020, so she had a lot to work with. I simply asked her to make me look better. I've done that before with other stylists and I figured out afterward that I was not on the same page as them. I would say not only was Melissa on the same page - but she was way ahead of me in the book! She did such an amazing job. She's very talented and has a great sense of styling. She didn't just put a hairstyle on my head... she figured out the best, most attractive style that works for my head/face. I feel younger and prettier. You can tell I feel better in the pix below. I only come here for Jocelyn Morfin but this salon is so welcoming I'm considering getting more stuff done here! But ok Jocelyn is so amazing! She is a magician with wax! I have never had a better wax tech than her. I'm moving away for school and leaving her is my biggest loss (lol jk but not really). I'm on work trip right now and in between waxes with her so I had to go to someone else and it was not the same( it hurt like crazy and I think I still have wax bits). I went to her at first for an underarm wax and a Brazilian wax and omg no pain! If you go and feel it, I'll get a whole eyebrow waxed off. Seriously she's so good I've gotten more stuff waxed by her such as my eyebrows and my upper lip! Seriously a whiz! Besides being so good with wax, she is easy to talk to! It is warm and inviting with lots of windows and natural light, couches to lounge in, lovely decor. The products they use for hair care are free of unwanted chemicals and for sale in the shop. Her staff is great, both competent and caring! Melissa Sherwood, the owner, does a superb job on all hair care. She also does makeup for those who wish it. I know she does hair and makeup for brides. I have gone to Melissa for three years now and love her cuts and color. She is warm and wonderful and very professional. Soft welcoming colors and wide-open windows. I was one of the first clients to get fluffed and puffed so I feel very honored. Melissa said they are planning on opening a coffee shop in the back. I will love to be able to sip on a coffee while under the dryer. They will also have manicure/pedicure stations and some Spa treatment rooms. They also have some awesome seating and free wifi for those who want to get a little work done in a soothing calm atmosphere. When I first started going to Melissa was at another Salon that she was working out of and she noticed that my hair color was not correct and fixed it. Recently for fall has taken me back to my natural color with highlights, and in addition is always open to adding color subtracting color or doing whatever we want to do since I'm one of those people who love to go opposite sometimes quite often. Melissa is phenomenal with my daughter, in fact my daughter looks forward to going and getting her haircut by Melissa and seeing the new salon that she has opened. Happened upon this place by walking down the miracle mile. Looked really nice. Wasn't sure if they did men's cuts but I poked my head in since the sign said there was a coffee shop inside. Got some coffee and talked to Melissa. She was very nice and answered all my questions. Made an appointment and came back for a hit cut. It was great. She shampoos before and after so I don't have hair all over after my cut. Price was very fair for what I got ($25 plus tip).
