Willow Farm - Cheesecake heaven!

I go to the Willow Farm nearly every week as it is close to were I live. Iwould go a little less…read morebut I don't have the cost of the travel to concider. When you go in some one is there to greet you and take you to your table. After reading the menu and remembering your table number you go to order your food then go to the bar for your drink or get your drink then decide what to order which may be better because the time it takes to decide. There is a caverey from around £3.45 for a small one to £5.95 for large I personsley don't like them as the veg has got butter on most things. The menu is a good selection from the home made burgers to Jacket potatoes. I love the Salmon or the Tuna with fresh veg (not in the butter) There is something for every one taste. A good choise of deserts if you have room and the Home made cake at £4.25 to take home or eat there. There is a family area soft play for the little one's five and under plus games for the the older ones. There is also toilets for the children in that area. There is t.v. which you can watch your children playing while you eat and have a chat. While there is a good size car park and restarant the car park is nearly always full and you have to wait a little while a busy periods. A small price to pay for the good food and service. Also I don't think you can book ahead as I belong to a walking group and when our leader tryed to book for 22 she was told no. Also we could'nt stop and have a drink after wards. I assume again because it is busy most of the time. I went with a few friends just before Christmas on the First of December at lunch time. It was'nt too busy and we sat chatting after our meal and felt under no presser to move. Dress up if you like or come in jeans, every one dresses diffent and no ones really interested as every one is there for the food. It would be ideal for any- one traveling though to or from Newcastle air port as there is a hotel about five minutes walk. The staff are friendly and helpfull

The vegetable soup was very tasty but not heavy, served hot and on time. The poached salmon is great. Family oriented place but very nice for the business traveler who happens in this neck of the woods. Highly recommend if you are in the area. Thank you, Willow Farm team!

With plenty of spacious seating on the patio and tucked away in little corners of the garden we found a lovely little table for 3 in the sunshine. For winter months they have 2 main buildings and 2 out-houses which are very pretty and well decorated inside. Post-birthday night out I was a little worse for wear and ready for a full English and a good cup of tea unfortunately the breakfast cut off point is at 11.30 however I wasn't too disappointed as the rest of the menu left plenty of tantalizing options for me to choose from! The waitress came over to take our orders and helped me choose between 2 dishes that I was torn over. The drinks service was a little slow but the food was timey and the presentation on all the dishes was amazing! My Dad opted for a seafood platter, which came with smoked salmon, crayfish, cockles, mackerel and crab slaw all served with sourdough bread, hollandaise and aioli sauces - seafood heaven! My Mum went for the lamb and goats cheese burger that was divine! The lamb was cooked to perfection with it being pink in the middle and served with a yummy mint yogurt dip and sun-dried tomatoes. I was stuck between the club sandwich and BBQ pulled pork open sandwich. On recommendation I went for the pork, which was served, on sourdough toast with melted Monterey cheese - heaven! I was having food-envy looking at the lamb burger but was not in anyway disappointed with my pork. Finishing off our meal with the Parlour's specialty - ice creams all round! I have a new found love for the homemade lemon meringue cone... There is so many flavours including apple pie and the originals too - its an ice cream lovers heaven! Our leisurely lunch here was fab and they are also promoting the "Super Club" on the 18th of July that is a diner's paradise! With three courses plus their homemade ice cream at £25 a head it doesn't break the bank either. This place was definitely worth the 20-minute drive and I will be back to try their dinner menu!

Great little stop. We only stopped for coffee and cake but the food looked delicious! The Afternoon…read moreTea was calling to me.. but unfortunately we already had a packed lunch in the car ;) But I did manage to have a lovely soya latte and slice of a sticky toffee cake! It was a really yummy cake! The sitting rooms were so cute, we were in the garden shed , and there was the main room, and the ice cream parlour and outdoor sitting. A really well done place, with layout and set up. Sometimes tea shops along the high way have a whole room full of junk they are trying to sell to you and then cramped sitting. But not here I think I saw a few cute things for sale but mostly they were focused on their food and I was told famous ice cream! Well done for keeping the place about whats most important... the food! Friendly service and tasty treats. It was a bit slow because they were super packed and under staff. The waiter apologised for the wait and said someone had called in ill! I can only rate it on the cake and coffee because I didn't eat anything there but I imagine it would be good .

The Botanist was an excellent find when we stayed the night in downtown Newcastle. Located on Monument Mall, you have to up three flights of stairs or take the lift (elevator) to reach the main bar and lounge that has a strong botanical garden theme that is quite beautiful, especially with the location being under a dome. The dome is gorgeous and really enhances the botanical garden and atrium effect. The cocktails are very good as well. I ordered a buttered coconut old fashioned that was quite rich and creamy, but very satisfying with the toasted coconut and butter-washed Makers Mark bourbon with homemade salted honey syrup. My wife enjoyed her Botanist Ultimate Gin & Tonic as we took a table with these plushy lounge chairs. The bartender was fantastic and friendly in making us the cocktails. Really nice guy who made us feel at home. Additionally, they have a rooftop balcony to enjoy the drinks; however, on this evening, it was windy and cold (at least for us Floridians) to where we decided to stay warmer inside. But we would return in a heartbeat.
