a takeout container with rice, chicken, and carrots

Wow this place has gone downhill over the past few years. Chicken was hard as a rock, rice was mushy . Won't be back.

Every time I thought I was out, those samples pull me back in. When you go into any food court at any mall, the Chinese/Japanese vendors dominate handing out chicken samples on toothpicks, which inevitably draw you in to buy their food. Tobu is a both a Chinese and Japanese food vendor in the food court at the Town Center. The food at both of these vendors is exactly what you'd expect, just mediocre. And even then, every time you eat one of those samples you can't help, but to be drawn in by that taste. Now I'm not saying that the sample is the only thing is good here, if you enjoy the food court Asian taste, go for it, but my advice is enjoy the sample while it lasts and move on. I always fall for it and order a meal, usually the Chicken Teriyaki from the Japanese side, which is what I recommend the most. The cost for a Chicken Teriyaki meal is almost $8.00! Yikes, these food court stalls are hiking up their prices to levels that are getting out of hand. Plus, we added extra chicken which was another $1.59, because the amount they give you in the regular portion is just not enough. Tobu is food court 101, an oldie, but a goodie. Pick your own commonly used phrase, because this place is a staple here and if you ever need a quick meal, this is a decent spot for it. Food (B-), Pricing (C-), Atmosphere (B), Service (B-)

Completely disgusted! The owner of this place has two con joining restaurants. The Japanese hibachi side and a Chinese side. Employees work both counters. Working in the mall, there's on a few food options so we've been here several times. One bonus is they give you a frequent customer card. 4 punches and you'll get a free meal. On the day that I went to redeem mine, I ordered two orders. My total was $24, I said shouldn't there be $12 off because I have a free one? He points and shouts at me "food here is expensive, I gave you the discount already". Well sir, a chicken teriyaki is not $24!! So I asked him to look at the receipt, he responds "stupid fu**ing machine, always has problems they could get it fixed but they won't, I hate this place" now he proceeds to give me $8 and some change in cash from the register.... ok .... so it's ok to make a mistake, yell at a customer, and then curse? If you hate your job so much why don't you quit? I didn't catch his name, but he's a petite man in his late 20's. Blonde hair with blueish green highlights through it, stands about 5ft tall. I'm outraged, even after my fiancé told his manager, he's still working there and has not apologized to me!

Terrible. Had to toss it out. Old food, Flies on food since on counter, Food only warm. Wilted cabbage and broccoli.

Located on Glades Rd just west of the turnpike in the same shopping center as Stuarts. There's plenty of parking right in front. Service was excellent. We were greeted by the owner and she is absolutely lovely. She gave us a complete rundown of the menu and made fabulous suggestions. Starting with Tuna Goma Rice - it's their version of crispy rice, yet not fried. Fresh chopped Bluefin Tuna sits on top of seasoned rice and topped with an aioli. it was so fresh, it melted in your mouth. Tuna Truffle Roll- 8 pieces to the order - Tuna, avocado, and cucumber topped with a house truffle sauce. Salmon Avocado Roll - Classic Salmon roll and it comes 8 pcs to the order. The food was excellent. It's a little pricier than some of the others around, but the food and the atmosphere is elevated. That to me is worth the cost.

It is extremely clean and beautifully decorated. Brian waited on me. He's absolutely fantastic. He always has a smile on and he is extremely kind and accomodating. I ordered the seaweed salad. It's DELICIOUS!! There are some crunchy pieces inside and cucumber strips sliced very thin at the bottom. One of my favorite appetizers to order. For my main course I ordered the tuna truffle and I kindly asked if it could be wrapped in cucumber. Brian made it happen. It was absolutely scrumptious. Do yourself a favor and come visit Naamah! You will not be disappointed.

Since there was just one other couple there with us that day, we were able to interact with the chef, which was pleasant and highly informative. He showed us the styrofoam, dry iced box that had been overnighted from Japan and arrived that day, with beautiful, vibrant fish inside waiting to be appreciated. VERY importantly, he explained where everything we consumed came from in Japan, ie "off the coast of Hokkaido," and that the fish was INDIVIDUALLY LINE CAUGHT which should matter to everyone due to the devastation mass fishing brings to the oceans and the earth. We watched the meticulous slicing and plating of each of the 12 dishes. NO rice. No wasabi to kill the flavor, only if and when the chef added it himself. No jars of soy. Just a small plate of ginger and a moistened napkin to clean fingers between courses. Oysters in a beautiful broth. Three types of tuna. The chef told us that weekly they do a "Tuna Night" where all courses are cut fresh from a whole tuna delivered that day. Amazing. This is a very special place and we expect to return!

Not sure how many courses were served but it's all single pieces to savor in one or two bites. Some memorable creations include a beautifully cooked piece of sea bass, a flight of bluefin tuna including the absolute highlight of oh toro with caviar, surprising great oyster with some roe on top (and I don't eat oysters), a sea urchin which was very good even though I'd normally never order one, a double bite of wagyu beef...so soft and melts in your mouth, and last a slice of whiskey spritzed crown melon which apparently costs over $150/melon. For the second dessert they provided a rice crisp ice cream sandwich - really unique and tasty. Oh and what a delicious miso soup! They have a huge list of Saki if your into that with the pinnacle offered at $2800 or maybe was $3800. Some other reasonably priced options. I have no recommendation here as we aren't saki drinkers. I was told by another patron that the menu can vary so you may not be served everything I noted but I imagine the tuna trio is a constant as it's incredible. As far as ambiance, it's a very intimate restaurant with just a sushi bar that might seat 12 people. The chef prepares the sushi right in front of you and explains what each item is. Also very receptive to questions and nice to get a little convo going with him and the other guests as you enjoy and discuss the delicacies. There is a second chef who works in the back to help with some of the cooked items and a very nice hostess who seats you and helps all night. Our reason for going? Well our $1600 vacation plans fell apart and so we decided to spend that money on a staycation and treat ourselves to some fantastic local restaurants.

The dining room decor is clean and attractive with lots of red and black. There were four of us. And the menu was humungous. It took us a while to decide on what to order. We got two appetizers: the fried calamari and the Happy pancake. The calamari was chewy and the pancake was smaller than expected and except for two shrimp on top, we didn't see many on the inside, even the veggies were skimpy. For dinner we had the cashew chicken, the shrimp tempura and chicken teriyaki combo, the fishing boat for one, and a special dish of squid stuffed with seafood. The teriyaki was cold. And my friend said the tempura shrimp was squishy. The cashew chicken was good. The stuffed calamari was fried, not grilled as listed. And all the seafood ingredients that were advertised were chopped very fine and stuffed into the calamari rings and were not recognizable. The fishing boat for one had an array of sashimi and sushi and featured salmon, tuna, and white fish. The sashimi was a little chewy. The spicy tuna rolls were good. Service was excellent. Too bad the food was mediocre and didn't measure up. Dinner for 4 with 2 appetizers, 4 entrees, 4 cans of soda, tax, and tip was about $200.

Overall, a mixed bag for me but might try it again -- it was just OK…read more This is more of a fast casual place with about 6 booths that could sit 2-4 people, a couple tables for 2 and bar seating for more than a dozen. There's also outside seating available. The place is clean and the staff are friendly and accommodating. Torched Atlantic Salmon - pretty good but slightly more cooked than I prefer, as if it was seared on a pan instead of just getting very surface level torched to add that hint of smoke and a little more fattiness. The pieces were also on the larger side so overall a good value but didn't fit nicely into one bite. Sashimi - served on top of a bowl of ice cubes, the fish itself (tuna, hamachi, salmon) was good and the cuts were pretty generous. But I didn't like that it was served on top of grated carrots instead of daikon radish. I had this with a bowl of sushi rice on the side that wasn't the greatest quality and a little in the sweeter side but not bad. Green tea - this was actually Jasmine green tea which wasn't labeled that way on the menu and I don't really care for floral notes. Anyway, it's tea in a bag. Food service was a little slow. I got my nigiri after 18 minutes, which is borderline for me, especially because there were only two other tables being served and it appears to be more fast casual. I understand they were also filling to-go orders but I feel like a precedence should be placed on customers there.
