We wouldn't have to have a money order if his wife would stop locking us out of our account online the second their payment processor doesn't process the payment day it's due. So much for the grace period with that. Which is a violation of the contract. We have had to have our lawyers reach out to them twice last year to inform them to pull their heads from their asses about violating the contract. Clearly they need a 3rd conversation. It is now July, and I was notified that my unit is now $135 a month plus their insurance that I supposedly must have. This, my friend, is highway robbery. Storage Rentals of America is a joke. This is how they get your private, personal belongings auctioned off. I've had a rate increase of over $100 in 4 months. How this is legal, I really don't know. It's bad enough to lose your home to a landlord who was indicted on federal fraud charges, Antoine Draines & Agora Realty & The Franchise Guy, for ripping people off during the pandemic but now possibly losing my belongings to a greedy storage company who obviously doesn't care about their customers and are able to get away with actions like these; is truly ridiculous. Stay away from Storage Rentals of America. I'm so disappointed with myself for choosing this company. I obviously didn't do my research. Storage Rentals of America is a prime example of corporate greed at its finest. If you're giving this company a good review, good on you! You obviously have money! Us poor people are not going to give a company that's raised our rate by almost $100 in 4 months a good review. It's not happening. We might give an employee for that company a good review but not the company itself. Storage Rentals of America doesn't allow payment arrangements either. So, if you happen to become ill and miss a shift at your place of employment, you had better be prepared to take out a small loan to pay for your storage unit or it's auctioned off. As a matter of fact, they charge a $20 late fee and lock you out of your unit if you are even one day late on your monthly payment. I truly wish that I was in a position to take my business somewhere else, but that would entail renting a uhaul, and it would cost us even more money. Storage Rentals of America knows this, and that's also why they raise the rates so high and so quickly at their own discretion.

An employee came out immediately, confirmed the door was stuck, and told me they would contact a door company and that the repair would take "a few weeks." It is now July 23, and I still cannot access my unit. Since April, I have contacted both the local facility and the corporate office multiple times. I have requested updates, asked for a refund or credit for the unusable unit, and have repeatedly been told that someone else has to handle it. I was referred to the Ohio representative several times, but my calls were not returned. When I finally spoke with her, she said she would look into it after returning to the office, but she didn't even take my account information. When I spoke with the local facility again, I felt like I was getting the runaround. I had to explain the situation all over again, received conflicting information, and was once again told it would be "a few more weeks." I was even asked to provide a copy of my key, which I declined because I want to be present if anyone accesses my unit. The most frustrating part is that I use this unit to store inventory for my resale business. I have been paying rent on time every month for over five years, yet I have been unable to access my own belongings for nearly four months. I also cannot move to another unit because I can't get into this one to remove my inventory. At this point, I'm simply asking for someone with the authority to resolve this to contact me, repair or replace the door immediately, and issue an appropriate credit or refund for the months I've been paying for a unit I cannot use. I have tried to resolve this privately for months. I'm posting this review in hopes that someone in management will finally take ownership of the situation and make it right.
