I don't normally write reviews, but this is the second time I suffered from food poisioning from eating their food. I have a pretty strong stomach, and so far this place is the only place that I only suffer food poisioning with. Take this as a warning. Used to like coming to this place, but service & quality just went downhill through time. A waiter once chased down my friend & I when we left because we "didn't tip enough" (we were still young at the time, we didn't really know how to properly tip & the service was pretty ok). Out of all the few times I came to dine in, the waiters seems pretty rude & are either rushing us to finish our meal or just never bother to check in on us (there were also a few times it was hard to flag someone down). Take out was always a mission. To order online off their website is a truly an enigma. I haven't been here in years. This place is under new ownership, we didn't get the All You Can Eat and prices were still really really good. The clear soup was a little too salty for me (less salt would have been perfect). The California rolls were yummy (I can't have actual sushi right now) I also ordered the spider roll which was good. Another order was their teriyaki chicken box which was a lot of food and so worth the price. Another order was for the filet and shrimp which wasn't filet mignon (like I highly doubt in the past that it was as well) we love beef so we know the difference. But it's still pretty good. The veggies are cooked perfectly. Service was attentive and kind. The Restaurant had a few families dining. Hoping that more people dine here. From some of the reviews I saw with the All You Can Eat is that most of the world looks down on wasted food. I don't live in the area anymore but when I come to visit family this place has been my new go to sushi spot. Kaiseki was it before but since they don't offer dine in at this time I decided to come here and I haven't looked back. The sushi/sashimi is fresh I'm surprised at all the negative reviews because the service is actually very friendly and attentive. The All You Can Eat menu offers a huge selection of fresh sushi/sashimi as well as cooked entrees. I've brought my brothers here as well as my wife and we haven't had any issues. read more

It is an amazing place. The food is really good and fresh all the time. I come here every weekend with friends or by my own and the takeout service is pretty good. The girls in the front are are always nice and are always making jokes. I went with 5 family members and we all had a great time, delicious food and impeccable service! The food came out hot, fresh, delicious and pretty quickly. We had shrimp fried rice, honey back ribs, shumai, salmon roll, red snapper Terikayi, pork udon noodles, beef mei fun, rocky shrimp, general tso and sesame chicken, seaweed salad, Kani salad, vegetable fire rice, vegetable dumplings and clear soup. I use to like this place but after tonight I'm never coming back. I ordered 6 orders of Philadelphia rolls along with several orders of different rolls and off the appetizer menu. I requested for the salmon to be cooked, after I received my bill, I saw that they charged me extra to cook the salmon. I explained to the server that I've been to this restaurant several times and I never payed extra for the salmon to be cooked. Came here as a one year anniversary dinner date. It was on a Wednesday, so it was empty. The service was okay. It was very rushed, especially the waiter. It was a bit nerve-wrecking because it was my first time here and I was observing the place. The waiter would come and rush quickly. I got the Ninja roll and my boyfriend ordered the Six Flags roll. It was delicious. When we received the bill, we weren't informed of the 50% off special on Wednesdays and wished we could stay and order more. This was our fourth visit, this time with guests. We were not disappointed. The food was fresh and delicious. All selections were worth ordering again. One guest was handicapped and had no trouble navigating and getting situated. Since they are a new establishment, they haven't received their liquor license but they do have a nice selection of non-alcoholic beverages. To be honest. I was quite content with the food service. I was invited by a family member on a sunday afternoon to try their "all-you-can-eat" menu. I was a bit skeptical since I had heard most place's would be skimpy and hold back. But everything was as if I was ordering from the regular menu. The Steamed shrimp shumai was awesome. The kani salad was fresh and delicious and the golden spider rolls were amazing. You can choose from various appetizers, sushi, rice, chow mein, and meats. They serve them on small plates. I like this place, and when I order to my job (which is 1.6 miles from them) I usually have no issues. However, when I order from my house (which is 3.3 miles away from them) I get phone calls saying I'm too far away, that I'll need to pay an extra $5 for delivery, and that my order will take over an hour to arrive. I really do like the food, and everyone I've spoken to has been really nice. But this seems so petty to me. I checked and I am within their advertised delivery range of 3.5 miles. I feel like I'm being nickel-and-dimed and it really makes me not want to order from them anymore. UPDATE 10/30/16: I'm done with this place. Last time I ordered they forgot my appetizer. I called and told them and they said that they would bring it right away. They never brought it. I called again the next day, and a woman told me that it was "Oscar" who forgot the appetizer and that I needed to call back and speak to him. I never got a hold of him. I was well on my way to giving this restaurant 5 stars upon my first visit, but by the second visit, I have to give it 3 stars. I visited them during their lunch hours in both occasions, and ordered the shrimp Singapore noodles then the chicken Singapore noodles. They definitely have large portions, and good combos. Everything on the lunch menu is $7.95, plus $1 for any seafood and you get rice, soup, salad, etc depending on the entree. My first visit was impressive because everything was fresh and flavorful, and I had a truly satisfying meal. By my second visit though, which was just a week later, it seemed like they switched chefs, because it was the total opposite. The salad was stale, miso soup was watered down, and the noodles had a stale taste. I won't completely write off Tobiko though, I'm open to giving them another chance, maybe with a different entree. read more

I took one sip, and the milk was SO SPOILED. Not faintly, but days gone. The server brought the jug of milk over to show me the date says it's not spoiled... obviously that wasn't the point. Walked in, loved the look! The deep, dark red light that gave off a lounge-y feel at 4pm in the afternoon had me drawn in for more. Then the next greatest thing to happen: EVERYTHING on the menu is 50% for the grand opening. So the normal $12 rolls are now $6- effin sweet (just to give an example, an for the record I could eat a good three rolls)!! I originally came here just looking for miso soup and I thought why not try this new spot. Once I found out everything was 50% off i decided to make a meal of it. The first turn off was the extremely ghetto Asian chic at the counter who was being entirely too rude to an inquisitive customer (who walked out shortly). The other turn offs happened when I got home. I waited for a few minutes in the restaurant /lounge and then walked out with two rolls of sushi (one which had lobster), and two Miso soups. I couldn't wait to get home and devour the food. 2nd EFF up: well my miso soup that I originally went in for, hence ordering two (my throat was sore) was only half full. I was actually able to combine the two soups into one container. I was pissed, and almost called the restaurant- they're new, they NEED and deserve feedback. I specifically asked the girl what their largest size soup was, and she said they only carried the pint size so I should order more than one. The 3rd boo boo, the grand slam, the ultimate turn off was when I found a hair in my soup- an this lead me to not eat any more of my food. At this point I was so furious I called the place and asked to speak to the manager. I explained to him everything that happened. I also told him I only ate 1 piece of sushi from each roll (2 pieces in total) hoping he would tell me I could return my 95% still- full meal and get my money back (it all wound up in the garbage). The waiter implied my 5 year old son had to pay as an adult and asked him to stand up to measure him because one of the rules was in order to be considered a "kid", you have to be 30-48 inches. It's was so uncomfortable and pathetic! I got up and left. Besides the height requirement, you had a 2 hr limit to eat your food. I am very surprised by all of the complaints here. Maybe we just got lucky, but this place is by far the best deal around. The sushi was excellent, comparable to any of the multitude of asian/sushi places that have popped up in the last few years. The Fried rice i had was as good as any. Our waiter RAY was excellent, service was fast, perhaps even too fast. They have an all you can eat special that will save you tons of money and supply you with your fill of very good sushi specialty rolls, apps, salads and chinese style dishes. A brand new restaurant in Valley Stream! It just opened at the site of the old New Hunan Taste Chinese restaurant, and they haven't even had that sign taken down yet. The staff was very welcoming and friendly as soon as we walked in, and we decided to sit at the Sushi Bar. One of the chefs immediately made up a small delicious complimentary seafood salad for us before we even made our orders. My daughter and I opted to both go with the Maki lunch special which includes Miso soup, salad with Ginger Dressing and a choice of 2 regular rolls, We both went with an Eel Roll, with her getting a Tuna roll and I chose the Yellowtail roll. In addition we also ordered a Golden Spider roll from the list of specialty rolls. Our soups and salad were brought to us and we ate those while we watched the chef prepare our rolls, The Miso soup was hot and delicious with some pieces of soft silky tofu, and shredded seaweed, and it also had some Enoki mushrooms, which I have never seen in Miso soup before, These were a delightful addition! The Ginger dressing and salad was delicate yet very tasty! When our sushi arrived, it was beautifully presented and very fresh in appearance and aroma. The rolls themselves were excellently prepared, tightly rolled and in no danger of falling apart as they do in some lesser restaurants. The fish was very fresh and delicious! The Golden Spider roll had a very generous amount of softshell crab, and very fresh avocado. As for the prices, they are doing what I've seen as a fairly new trend in some restaurants, in that they offer half price for all Sushi bar items if you pay cash, which we did, so the bill was very affordable! Overall a great experience, and one I'm sure I'll be repeating often, and this is right around the corner from me! read more
