It's different than the thick hand-sliced pastrami and brisket you get from a place like Katz's and I'd probably place the quality very slightly below the Second Avenue Deli, but it's certainly as good, if not better, than Sarge's or Pastrami Queen (although maybe a slightly smaller portion) and it's less expensive. The staff has always been friendly and I once saw one of the guys who had worked at Ben's Best in Rego Park there. I really don't understand what the 'critics" here are referring to.
