At first, my husband stood outside with the dogs while I browsed. Everyone greeted me upon entry and Linda came over to see if she could assist. I explained what I was looking for and she showed me some items in the store. We talked about pros and cons of a few options, then Linda presented an alternative, which she showed me online since it was at one of their other stores. I immediately loved the alternative, so I was going to go out and hold the dogs so my husband could look. Linda had us bring our pups in so both of us could look and talk. Folks in the store were very welcoming to the dogs and even keep dog treats on hand. But anyway, my husband liked Linda's suggestion as well. We went with the idea and she assured us that the jeweler would make everything fit perfectly. In essence, we had a three stone setting put onto a different band so that the ring would set flush against my wedding band. Richard did a fantastic job. I absolutely love my three stone ring. It turned out better than I could have imagined. It was also completed as promised, within a week. I couldn't be happier. Overall, it was the perfect experience. Update: After posting my review, the store manager called to offer a re-repair of my engagement…read morering. However, I have already had the repairs done elsewhere (as stated in my review) due to valid concerns over work quality. During the call, it was made clear that because the mistakes were fixed elsewhere, they would not be taking any further steps to make the situation right. This was a problem they created as what should have been a straightforward repair turned into significant damage that forced me to take matters into my own hands and seek repairs with another jeweler. While I appreciated the follow-up, it is clear that the situation will not be made right. Original review: I'm extremely disappointed in my recent experience with Schwarzschild Keller & George Jewelers. I brought in my engagement ring on June 20 for what should have been a simple and routine prong re-tipping, quoted at $100. When I finally picked it up on July 11 (after delays), the ring looked nothing like the one I had entrusted to them: the prongs were uneven, the center stone was crooked, there were visible solder marks, and the craftsmanship was shockingly poor. I was told the work would be redone at no charge, but the damage to my ring and the quality of the first repair made me uncomfortable entrusting it to them again. A second jeweler has since confirmed that the entire head of the ring now needs to be rebuilt, at a cost of $375, damage that would not have occurred had the original work been done properly. I first contacted Keith directly on July 16 to try and resolve this, and then submitted a message via the "Contact Us" form on their website on July 21 (which states someone will respond within 48 hours). As of today, I have received no response at all. The lack of accountability and total silence from the store is unacceptable. I now have to spend nearly four times the original estimate to fix damage caused by their own poor workmanship. I would not recommend this jeweler based on my experience.

Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience with Andrew Minton Jewelers. I brought in a pair…read moreof earrings in early April that I wanted converted from studs to dangle earrings. I was told that the dangle earring backs would need to be ordered, but that it shouldn't take long. When I didn't hear anything back for 2 weeks, I called and was told that it would be done shortly. After another 2 weeks, I called again and was told that the earring backs were backordered and wouldn't be available for 3 more weeks. Why couldn't someone call me to let me know? A customer shouldn't have to keep calling. When another week went by, with no update, I called again and talked to Andrew Minton who told me that he would get back to me. The next day, a woman who identified herself with the last name of Minton told me that the earrings were ready for pickup. I came today (June 9) to pick them up only to see that the earrings were not worked on at all. When I asked why I had been called and told they were ready, the young woman (who initially waited on me in April) went back to talk to the jeweler. During this time, a female employee came up to the counter and was working on a computer. She saw the earring back that was to be worked on for my earrings on the counter and promptly put her finger in her mouth to pick up the earring back to give to Andrew Minton. When the young woman came back, I was told that the reason they told me that my earrings were ready (when they weren't) is that my order had been placed in the wrong box. It seemed like a very poor excuse. I remarked on the unsanitary practice of picking up earring backs with spit on one's finger, only to be met with a testy remark from the woman who did it, saying that all jewelry is cleaned before it's given to the customer. Regardless, what this woman did was simply unsanitary and frankly, gross. Adults in a retail setting don't need to spit on their fingers to pick up items. During this exchange with the two employees, the owner, Andrew Minton, was sitting within earshot and never once came over to say anything to me -- a customer who waited 2 months for earrings that were never worked on. I took my earrings back and will take them to another jeweler. Customer service at Andrew Minton Jewelers is poor and unprofessional.

Mia actually listened to what I wanted, sketching concepts so I could visualize what she was thinking. In the end, she offered to simply modify my current band to the design I wanted years ago! No price gouging, simply tweaking the design I settled on to give me the design I REALLY wanted...And at a MUCH more affordable price. During their early days Tuel's took in mostly Railroad watch repair and certification. As the years passed they expanded into a full-service jewelry operation offering a variety of watches, jewelry, and silver repair. Along with retail sales they offered machine engraving, bead restringing, and battery replacement. It was battery replacement that brought me in as they continue this. Service was friendly and they replaced the battery in minutes. They even polished the watch up. Today, Tuel Jewelers continues to offer a full-service family friendly jewelry business carrying fine jewelry in diamonds, pearls, platinum, gold, and silver; rings, pendants, and bracelets; Its hard to find a store that offers both Jefferson, Virginia, and Mint Julep cups. Bride and groom gifts can also be found. Although on the pricy side these days with cheaper products, mall stores, mail order and big boxes it's the top notch service and quality Tuel Jewelers delivers on.

A day after they replaced my husband's watch battery, the watch stopped working. They said they…read morewould need to send it out to their watch repairman, and it could take 30-45 days. We let them do that. Around the 45 day mark, my husband called them for an update because we hadn't heard a word from them. The response was that they had left a message over a month ago that the watch was ready and the problem was that it had the WRONG BATTERY! We went to pick it up, and I told the woman we never got the message and asked her why they didn't follow up. Her response was that they call once and then file the item away. That tells me that they don't care about their customers, even a tiny bit. We never had a message from them, so I can only assume they dialed a wrong number. I will never set foot in this store again. There are many other options for jewelers in the area that actually care about their customers, and that are probably capable of inserting the correct watch battery the first time. ETA: We were contacted by this business. They apologized and did their best to make it right, and we appreciate that they read my review and took it to heart.

I wandered in here the other evening with my husband simply to browse. I wanted to get some of the bracelets but I already have my own little gypsy thing going on with two Tiffany and Co. bracelets I wear together so I don't wanna mess with that. I did end up making a necklace from the charm bar and I LOVE it. We will see if I actually end up wearing it on a regular basis.... that's the true test.
