Chipotle chicken salad wrap
Drew R.

Came here for lunch with a couple of coworkers and I wasn't disappointed. It was kinda weird that during lunch time there wasn't as many people as I thought they should have. Oh well, no wait time is much better for me, esp only having an hour. I ordered the chipotle chicken salad wrap. It was really good. There is also a nice spicy kick to it which I like a lot. You get to chose the different type of wrap they used, of course I went for a healthier option because...salad. Lol. So I got the green wrap. My order came with a side of potato chips. They were alright, but definitely not in house made. They do have other options and you can order half orders as well. But I think their portion isn't that huge so a half order isn't necessary. Great place, quick service. Do recommend.

Egg, cheese, and ham croissant. Delicious.

This place is so freaking good. You know the phrase "Take your time and do it right"? Well, that applies here. When you get your order--which for us was a croissant, ham, and egg sandwich--you can tell it is made not only to order, but is crafted perfectly. It was delicious and we will be stopping by again.

Smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel sandwich with a small coffee
Mylan D.

I ordered the smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel and it was quite tasty. I also like that there were grill marks on my bagel. In the first bite, there was a sour taste and I later found out that there is big piece of lemon slice in it. SURPRISE! I definitely was not ready for that nite nor was I expecting it. I thought the salmon went bad. Regular coffee is decent, but it's like any other coffee shop you would grab on the go. Staff are pretty friendly and laid back. Maybe because it's 9 am and everyone isn't quite awake yet so there's no sense of urgency to get the orders out right away. There's a variety of other snacks that you can grab as well: popcorn, chocolate bars, gum, cookies and drinks.

Only thing open in slc dowtown on Sunday's but surprisingly best sandwich I've had. So much food for the price!!! Find my sandwich shop when in town for more lacrosse tourneys.

soup and sandwich combo

Having been working downtown for almost a year now, I have been meaning to try out Toaster's every single time I walk past it in order to get to Boston Deli during lunch. One day Alison and I finally decided to give it a try on one of our lunch outings. I ended up getting a soup and sandwich combo with the turkey avocado, which came with chips, and I think the soup was the rosemary chicken dumpling soup. Both were phenomenal, except, I do admit to picking out the red onion from my sandwich and substituting it with Alison's tomato slice. I should eat with her all the time because I loves me some tomatoes. Most of the time I find that when I get a half sandwich, it's fairly difficult to eat especially since I always order something with avocado that slips and slides around. But because Toaster's uses high quality ingredients, including amazing bread, I had a breeze eating my sandwich (not to mention, it was super tasty so that didn't hurt). The interior is very cute, warm and inviting. I happen to be a fan of huge handwritten chalkboard menus. It does get a little crowded here during lunch, but I still found the service to be friendly, not rushed, yet still very efficient.

Having heard good things about Toaster's I decided to try it out. I went to their new location on 300 South. Talking with the server, they have been open at that location for about eight months, but their original location has been in Salt Lake over eight years. The interior is your basic hip, trendy coffee shop/café. Well-decorated, with a very friendly staff that welcomes you as you walk in the door. They have an extensive menu of sandwiches and salads. Being a sucker for everything Italian, I went with "The Premium" sandwich. Prosciutto, freshly-sliced tomatoes, olive oil, balsamic vinegar (I always get extra on my sandwiches), roasted red peppers, and mozzarella. I was very impressed that they stock whole mozzarella balls, and cut them in slices to order, which turned out to be a very generous portion on my sandwich. The sandwich was fantastic. They toast the sandwiches, providing just the right amount of crunch. I don't know if it can beat The Caputo, but it is definitely my #2 favorite sandwich in Salt Lake City. My only gripe about my meal: Lay's Original potato chips. I just don't get them. I think they're disgusting, salty pieces of fried cardboard, and I think it's a shame that Toaster's pairs such a sub-par side with such a stellar sandwich. Please either do a pasta side, or spring a little and get some kettle chips. But leave the Lay's where they belong: on the picnic table at Grandma Betty's family reunion. Walk right past Jimmy John's and Quizno's and head straight for Toasters the next time you're in downtown SLC looking for a great sandwich.

If you want a good simple sandwich that has some good options this is your place. Gets busy around lunch but they are pretty fast. If you don't want a gut bomb this is a good option.

They have a little bit of something for everyone and my hesitation to go in (even as a vegetarian) was that my meat, eating husband and picky children would not enjoy it. I was also worried it would be overpriced and I was very happy to find out that there is plenty of meat, awesome options for kids, and the prices were incredibly reasonable for the delicious food and the generous portions. I went in with my gluten-free dad and I have never heard him say "I would absolutely come back here." if that is not a huge WIN, I am not sure what it is! I tried the mashed potatoes, cauliflower, risotto, and brussels sprouts and I would order all three again but HIGHLY recommend the mashed potatoes. My dad loved his chicken and my boys loved their steak. I truly cannot wait to go back here and have been plotting my next order with the takeout menu that I grabbed on the way out.

Service is relatively quick (if you don't get stuck behind middle-age women debating their order in line) and you can get in and out for a quick lunch. Have multiple favors and have never had a bad meal. Turkey avocado cobb and veggie hummus are really good. Cons being prices are quite a bit higher compared to other like locations and the Foothill Village shopping Center parking lot is the worst location (not even close) in the entire state.

Tucked into…read moreSLC's Post District, the space is a stunning 7,200 sq. ft. chef-driven concept with a state-of-the-art display kitchen, commissioned local artwork on the walls, and a warm, upscale atmosphere (Gastronomic Salt Lake City) that somehow never feels stuffy. It's relaxed but refined -- the kind of room where you slow down without being told to. The staff set the tone immediately. Our server was genuinely knowledgeable, walked us through the menu without rushing, and had real opinions on what to order -- not just scripted recommendations. That kind of hospitality makes a difference. We went big on starters and didn't regret a single one. Everything that hit the table was fresh, thoughtfully put together, and disappeared fast. The skillet rolls with churned butter and sea salt are a must (The Infatuation) -- deceptively simple and legitimately great. The assortment we tried made it clear the kitchen takes the full menu seriously, not just the mains. For the entrees, the bison ribeye delivered -- bold flavor, generous cut, cooked well. But the filet was the undisputed star of the evening. The moment the knife touched it, you knew. That kind of tenderness doesn't happen by accident -- it's the result of quality sourcing and a kitchen that knows what it's doing. Executive Chef Nick Zocco is a James Beard finalist (Tripadvisor) , and it shows on the plate. Urban Hill isn't a special-occasion-only spot, but it's absolutely built for one. Highly recommend.

Food was just okay for the price. Service was very slow and we were really quite neglected compared to other tables. Brunch for 4 took over two hours and it was over 30 minutes before someone showed up to take our orders. This is really more of a 2.5 star rating but you know how Yelp is. The food was decent, just not outstanding by any means and the place is beautiful and reasonably comfortable. I feel like this places focuses too hard on pretentious "fine dining" details while completely neglecting the basics. Prompt service and food that tastes good. I will give the disclaimer that this review is now over a year old at the time of posting. I hope that things have improved in that time.
