Half Tri-Tip Steak Salad Rosemary Fries Sweet Potato Fries Houdini
Maina D.

Cubby's is a great spot if you are wanting healthy, home cooked type of food. The tri-tip salad is my favorite along with both kinds of fries! The food is delicious and filling but doesn't make me feel gross for eating out. They have really great breakfast on Saturdays as well.

This new Sugar House location of Cubby's seemed to pop up out of nowhere! All of the sudden I was driving by and noticed the brand new sign and was so excited. Something else I was super excited about - they have a drive thru! I didn't realize they had a drive thru situation until I was already inside, but I'm lazy and hate getting out of my car, so I will definitely be utilizing the drive thru here in the future. A healthy food drive thru?! Heck yes! I love that this is an option. The inside is huge and really bright with tons of natural lighting. They have a ton of seating, and the seating felt super private too - the booths have wooden backs that go all the way up to the ceiling, so it felt really private when you were sitting inside of them. I could see myself spending an afternoon working from here just because the privacy was nice. I deviated from my usual order last minute, and decided to try out their bender bowl with rice, veggies, a really yummy dressing, cheese, cilantro - it was really delicious. I usually get their kale salad and sub their chicken for extra avocado. The fries here are good too. I got the half salad and it was about $11 and was the perfect amount of food for me for lunch. Excited to have another healthy food option close by!

Cubby's is a "Go-to" Utah burger joint that offers some interesting and innovative choice. Especially for the vegetarian. This is a great Cubby's due to its location, (I love Sugarhouse!) but the current construction has made it hard to get in and out of. The have good service because they have great people working there. The Gypsy burger is my favorite. If you're a burger connoisseur- get a double, with Rosemary fries and a huckleberry shake (My humble recommendation) Then add a good dollop of Cubby's chipotle fry sauce to the burger because the beef can be bone dry. It's good, very lean, very dry. Great outside seating, but lately, the construction makes it dusty and hard to find parking. Give this place some time for the city to complete the construction. It's going to be awesome in just a couple months. BTW - this is not a "Salad Joint" Yelp! They have burgers and sandwiches too!! Sheeze Luis!

I love Cubbys! I almost always get the Tri-tip salad because it's hard to top! Their burgers and sweet potato fries are also tasty. I like how you can get a burger and an awesome salad at the save place. The breakfast here is top notch too! I've had both good and bad service here but the tasty food is what always brings me back. The restaurant has a lot of wood and metal and is classy. There is underground parking for the Sugarhouse location and they do validate.

Great food, able to order online and pick up from shelves. They got our whole order correct. Juicy hamburger, tasty fries and great salad. So glad we stopped her on our way to park city, parking is tough, but we were able to park across the street to run in and pick up our order.

Such a fun restaurant and vibe for special occasions!!! They even made a special menu with our names!!! We started off with a Sauvignon Blanc for me and a Zero Prosecco for my husband. We also shared the Heirloom Tomato Tartine for an appetizer. Absolutely delicious!! For our main meals my husband got the H and H Burger with a veggie patty and side salad. I went with the Iceberg Wedge, minus the onions. Again, delicious!! Hiro brought us a special anniversary dessert, a chocolate mousse with a sparkler on top!!! Wonderful way to end the meal!! We will definitely come back!! I really like how attentive they are to dietary restrictions and how they kept checking on us to make sure we liked our food and if we needed anything else. The décor is warm, modern, and sophisticated, with a contemporary yet cozy feel that makes it a very inviting place to relax and enjoy an evening. Unfortunately, this visit was a bit disappointing from a culinary standpoint. My ahi tuna did not seem as fresh as I would have expected, and the burger was less than impressive. It was slightly overcooked, and the patty was quite thin, lacking the quality and flavor that the beautiful setting promises. On the positive side, the service was attentive, professional, and genuinely friendly throughout our meal. Heart & Hill has all the ingredients to be a standout destination. A stronger focus on the quality of the meat and a more substantial burger would go a long way toward matching the excellent atmosphere they have created.

For appetizers, the roasted cauliflower and Caesar salad were very flavorful and delicious, and sized to share among four of us. Although we considered several entrees, we all selected the king salmon and it was wonderful. Served with orzo, a pea puree, and tempura asparagus, we all loved it. Couldn't resist dessert: the homemade Vietnamese coffee ice cream and the olive oil cake plus a latte. All wonderful. The only downsides were: the noise level; the space is small and we almost couldn't hear our table conversation as the dining area filled up, and the fact that they temporarily have no liquor license (in June 2026), so no wine or adult beverages were available. Another reason to go back, though! We're looking forward to trying their brunch, too.

I took my wife here for her birthday as she'd been wanting to try it, and we both left just flabbergasted at the overpriced and underwhelming experience we just had. The first two courses were just laughable. A salad that was basically a piece of lettuce and some purée of some kind, and then a piece of bread with mushrooms on top (???). Then a fish dish that tasted like it was bought at Smiths from the frozen section and then a pasta which was ordinary as could be. I lost interest after this, but there was two deserts which looked and tasted exactly the same. The whole experience was snobbish and a precocious slant on the fancy ingredients. In fact, the presentations were all very plain and the flavors unimpressive. A total waste of money and time.

While visiting Salt Lake City from out of town, we treated ourselves to a fancy dinner at Monte, a…read morerestaurant that is rumored to be angling for a Michelin star. From the description on their website about a "chef-driven" experience, I thought it would be a chef's table, but in actuality it was a pre fixe menu, as we never talked to chef Martin Babio, although our server told us about each course. Online reviews are mixed, so we were a little concerned to be the only customers on a Thursday if it really were a simultaneous seating event (another couple came in 45 minutes later). TL;DR: It was worth the money. Drinks: rose lemonade (from a bottle, but the best lemonade hubby says he's ever had), a glass of brut to celebrate the publication of my book next week, and the house still (tap) water. The "snack" (hors oeuvre) was two bites. One was the best thing hubby has ever eaten that was made out of beets (which he doesn't usually like). The other was a light green puree with trout roe that made me exclaim out loud. Then we got three kinds of bread (breadsticks, sourdough, brioche) but didn't want to fill up on it. What we didn't eat was packaged it up for breakfast and lunch the next day. The brioche was realllly good, especially with the house-made butter (even the next day--the sourdough didn't keep well). I didn't finish the take on French onion soup, because I didn't think the onions were caramelized enough; however, hubby prefers his onions less cooked and liked it. The quail ravioli came in a sauce that didn't have enough salt, but it was balanced if eaten with the pasta. Next, the "black course" was a two-bite squid ink beignet with rabbit in the center. The protein was a really excellent 3 ounces of beef with two sauces. Then came a palate cleanser that was the best tasting "green drink" we've ever had (mint, lime, cucumber, and some other things). Between that and the dessert--the silkiest chocolate tart imaginable--the dinner was worth it. The last chef's table we did (for Valentine's Day) had portions that were too large. These were just right (although I did have to take my bonus madeleine home, since I was full by that point). Staff are attentive but let you enjoy the meal. The setting is industrial with a side of woodsman-naturalist. The music was loud but fun. My only real critique is that the restaurant is located inside Beehive Distillery, so when we arrived via Google Maps, we thought we were at the wrong building, and I had to double-check the address. Otherwise, 5 stars, would do again for a fancy occasion.
