So I was at EDC VIP and they had a Toasted food truck, I was all excited. But it was a sad disappointment. I got the 3 cheese macaroni but they did not fill the container. It was delicious, but definitely not a full side serving. It was less than half a container. Then I got fries, which they filled to the brim but it was cool...like it had been sitting out on the counter for 40 mins. I just ended up throwing it away. Quick and easy comfort food! If your not a huge grilled cheese fan, don't worry they offer burgers as well. I ordered the "Truffle Melt" with a side of their homemade roasted tomato soup as a dipper. Got another Lunch in a Crunch but went with the Buffalo chicken sandwich with the tomato soup this time. The sandwich was good and not soggy at all. Very small establishment but not at all lacking in flavor. The Barbacoa melt was ok but I probably wouldn't get it again, nothing about it made me think it was supposed to be a grilled cheese and most of the meat was lumped onto one side of the sandwich. The flavor of the beef was nice though and the pickled red onion worked well with it. The rosemary truffle fries were enjoyable, nice and crispy with the perfect amount of truffle oil to get the flavor but not overpowering. The Buffalo bomb was juicy and had great flavor-- you can never go wrong with anything buffalo flavored! The portion itself is a little small for the price but I absolutely love whatever fig jam they use. I tried The Smokehouse sandwich which was pulled pork, mac and cheese and Chipotle cheese. It was really good, a tad on the heavier side but definitely enough to split. I loved their mac and cheese! The sandwich also comes with pickels too, which was a nice little surprise! We also ordered a side of truffle fries, they were only $2.50 and enough to split. They have rosemary on them too, so even the non-truffle lovers like my bf actually enjoyed them. Ordered medium burger and it was grossly undercooked - more medium rare. Pittsburgh style, just a thin char on the outside. Once I got past the outer bites, I could taste the raw meat - which made me wonder where they source it. Showed it to one of the guys, and he goes "looks medium to me". Something you have to keep in mind is that the restaurant is not that big and the food being spectacular I am sure it can get very busy. The decor is really nice. I loved the periodic table of cheese, I thought that was very creative. The menu has a lot of options. If grilled cheese is not your thing, they have salads and burgers. I want to like this place more! But i'm finding it just meh... This is more of a 2.5 star. My nephew is a cheese fiend and I thought that this place would be a great place to take him. I was able to order the Southern Comfort Burger completely vegan but it did come out to be $14 something as opposed to $7 something if I had with regular Mac n cheese and a meat patty. I was definitely expecting more Mac n cheese on the burger especially for the price I paid but what I did get was still delicious.
