Visiting from Los Angeles and we were told from all the locals that this was THE place for brisket. So glad we drove 30min outside from the city. Totally worth it. It's small and quaint, no fancy store front. But the quality of the meat was out of this world. I personally have never had better brisket. Even the pinto beans were outstanding! So delicious. Thank you.

Small place but the food is great. We had the brisket, sausage and potato salad, my family really enjoyed the food. They had ran out of ribs but we will be going back to try them.

Met Nico, behind the counter, and apparently R&R BBQ is new and has only been open for 3-4 months. Her family has owned The Meat Market adjacent to the BBQ joint forever. She suggested the brisket as top choice and we added a few pork spareribs. $20 for 1lb of brisket, bread, bbq sauce, onions, and pickles , what a deal! The additional pork spareribs were only a few dollars more. The pork ribs were the best I've ever had so far. Literally fall off the bone and melt in your mouth deliciousness. The sliced brisket was tender, but the ribs shined. The pickles and onions were tangy and dilly, and the BBQ sauce had a vinegar base, but paired with well with proteins. She also let us know that their homemade jerky and parisa will be coming soon. Parisa? What is parisa you may ask....a cured meat mixed with cheese, spices, onions, and peppers and served on crackers. Well, I can't wait to try it : ) A Thanksgiving menu was posted up at the counter as well. We look forward to coming back and trying your sides and other yummy goodness! The brisket lacked a strong smoke ring and had a gray appearance. I also tried the leg quarter, which came out dry, overcooked, and overly smoked. My friend ordered the sausage and it was dry as well. That said, the staff was genuinely kind and welcoming, and I appreciate that. I am willing to give them another try, but I also wanted to share this feedback in an honest and respectful way.

There was a sign to seat yourselves. OK. We sat down and the bartender brought us menus. Us and a group of three were the only customers. Brought us waters. While looking at the menu, a server comes over and asks if we wanted appetizers or go straight to order. Straight to order, please. The husband ordered the brisket pot roast. It came with asparagus and what he thinks was puréed squash. I had the pecan chicken. Panko breaded with pecans and a bourbon sauce. Maple and bourbon were the flavor elements. Came with baked Mac and cheese and sliced slightly charred carrots. This was really good, as was the husbands plate. Warm Sourdough bread and butter is served with the meal. We split a Caesar salad. The salad was OK, the dressing was a little tart and served on the side. I'm taking a slice of chocolate cake to go. As I peek into the bag, it is a generous slice with strawberries and a dollop of whipped cream. Stay tuned. The restaurant is part of the Hillside Resort. Looks like a bunch of rooms. When we were about to leave a group of women came in and sat at the bar. I told the bartender we'd heard about them through Texas Eats. He said 'are they still showing that? That was about six chefs ago!' All righty then. I'd say it's worth a trip to try.

Reservations were made ahead of time for 4 and upon arrival we were were seated right next to the large open windows. Ordered the Berry Patch cocktail- nice and refreshing with a splash of mint leaves. Menu wasn't overwhelming and had a nice assortment of dishes. Starters ordered - pork belly bites and fried Brussels sprouts. Both highly recommend! Dishes ordered- salmon, pork chop, pot roast, and steak. Pork chop and steak were not dry, but juicy with lots of flavor. I loved pot roast growing up , so I had to order it here. Although tasty, texture was a little chewy and tough. Also would have enjoyed a little more helping of vegetable/potato purée underneath the roast. The salmon dish looked fabulous, but was slightly salty. The sweet bun that accompanied each dish were delicious! Service was good. I'd come back to try the pork chop next time around.

He got the cream cheese strawberry pastry and pineapple upside down mini cake. I chose a simple chocolate chip cookie and a chocolate croissant. I love how these pastries are not too sweet. I asked the employee to choose one for me. She decided on the strawberry filled pop tart which I probably wouldn't have chosen myself. But i'm sure glad she did! The pastry was flaky and soft, the strawberry filling was not overly sweet. The pop tart was so good overall! I will definitely be coming back on my next cheat day.

You deserve more exposure and reviews than you've gotten. We had attempted to eat next door, so maybe it was a good thing so we didn't overindulge here. We had honey butter toast, cream cheese pinwheel, and a chocolate chip cookie. Let me say this, I cannot compare this place to a regular bakery. Like the inedible, completely waay to sweet other bakery in town. A true dessert, lets all the ingredients shine. Not just ungodly amounts of sugar. I can't compare it to a donut shop or Mexican bakery. Also, in price, it's not cheap compared to others, but it's worth every dam penny. The three items we had, were are all perfectly balanced. The honey butter toast was different in all the best ways possible. I'm going to assume it was fresh brioche, soaked in a honey mixture, then seared or broiled to just the point BEFORE it tastes burnt. That sweet spot, that takes true skill to perfect. The cream cheese pinwheel was almost as perfect. If not has just a little note of the cream cheese it would've been just as great. The cookie...it was so good you forgive that they pulled it out to early and it collapsed. I don't think it was intentional, but it was so good that we saved it, and later used the natural crater for a scoop of vanilla ice cream. One suggestion is asking if you would like your items slightly warmed up. This is worth a drive anywhere even remotely considered close. Thank you for saving my day!

It might be less busy now as the construction worker foodies that made up most of their clients have dropped off now. However, coming to their brick and mortar location is more convenient for me as I enjoy having my lunch in an AC environment opposed to outside in the Texas heat. The menu is also expanded which I do like. I went with the Pork Frintanga plate. Pork is very tasty and chewy which is a nice touch to me. Add in the sweet plantain and fried cheese and this dish was definitely a winner. Big change up from the food truck meals of mainly papoose, which are a great food truck item. Service is a bit quiet, due to the language barrier, and their lack of speaking English probably hurts the business for non Spanish customers. For me, it adds some authenticity to the experience.
