We've been seeing Dr.Miller for 3 years now. She's a saint! My sons love her and we do too. She always takes time to address our questions/needs. You can tell she really cares for her patients. The clinic has always scheduled us same day when one of our kids are sick and any provider we've seen has been wonderful! I was shocked at reading some of these poor reviews and felt compelled to add my own positive experiences! First off it looks that many have to do with wait times. Any practice that is well established w a large clientele is going to suffer from increased wait times. Ahwatukee has tripled in size this last decade, meaning the needs for healthcare in that area have also grown. As well as their referrals from us who love them! As a nurse and a parent, I especially understand and appreciate that this is because they try so hard to accommodate last minute appointments for their patients so as not to turn anyone away! No one wants to be sent to urgent care and trusts their own established doctor. They are highly efficient given the volume of patients coming through and always have been professional and friendly in the 14 years we have been coming here. I appreciate that I don't feel rushed during my time spent with providers, they answer all my questions before leaving. My kids and I love Dr Miller, Dr Ramirez and Ashley and no matter how busy their schedule they always take time to provide the best care. They have always been apologetic when running behind and empathize understanding w how difficult it is to sit and entertain sick young ones during that time. But it's MUCH worse at urgent care. So I'm am grateful to them and the wonderful personalized care they strive to provide all their patients! It's worth the wait! Thank you TLC for being with us all these years! read more

If you are late is a problem but if they are late they are just sorry and somebody will be with you shortly. Waiting 1 hour to be seen is horrible with a toddler that wants to move all the time. At least offer water or snacks lol read more

Doctor Matsumoto is 100000/100000! I highly recommend her. We are able to get an appointment in a timely manner even if the baby ends up sick. Sadly, I do not like their nurse triage line. You go directly to voicemail and have to wait for a call back which is fine. But, if you miss that call you have to leave a voicemail again and it will be a repeating cycle until you answer their call when they call. Even if you're at work and can't get to your phone, good luck! That's a huge flaw and makes me want to go somewhere else. I had an incident where my child was sick and I wanted advice on whether it was something I would take him in for or treat at home. Dealing with a sick toddler your world is crazy. But for some reason every time I picked my phone up I missed the call! It was so frustrating! Keep in mind I did call in the morning and my last call was the afternoon time. I never received a call back. I called the next morning and someone finally got back to me. I apologized for the phone tag & thanked her for getting back to me yet the nurse said "I didn't want to keep calling". Very unprofessional. That's not how you talk to your patients, could've kept that to yourself. I even mentioned and gave permission in the voicemail to please leave a voicemail and let me know what I need to do or email me which I gave both emails for my husband and I. I also left my husbands number to call. He never received anything call or email wise. They also have a portal if they are worried about HIPAA. Overall just a terrible system if you have a simple question. I've had Dr offices when you call the triage line you leave a voicemail and if you miss the call they leave a voicemail with your permission or they give you an extension to input when you call back. Just frustrating, otherwise it would be a 5 star review but the triage line and the nurse's response, I would give negative stars if I I could but we love our doctor and don't want to hinder her patient intake. Let me also add the nurse told me there is no reason to bring him in because there's nothing they would do so bringing him in would be a waste of time. Just wanted to throw that out there if that's the response I'm going to get regarding what I should've done. read more

Two,and now three of my babies see Dr.Miller. She is AMAZING . All of my babies love her. We drive over 45min to either office so that the kids can be seen by her. When our kids have any problems...she ALWAYS,goes above and beyond. She loves and cares for my kids, as I would. And that is why I love Noel Miller. A lot of people are surprised when I tell them all my children go to one dr. And have been with her since birth. As a parent I've also have experienced tough milestones with my children,and I'm happy to consider Noel as a friend and provider. read more

Terrible. Absolute worst doctors visit I have ever experienced, and I have lived all over the country being seen by military doctors so that says a lot. Let me preface this by saying my husband and I are not anti-VAX, but as a full grown adult who has had negative reactions to vaccines, we decided it was necessary to space out my one-year-old's vaccine schedule, especially being that she is not in daycare. I called the Front Desk to ask about this before scheduling the appointment and they did not seem to have any issues with this. On the day of the appointment, as soon as I told the medical assistant, the entire tone of the room changed, and I immediately felt othered and less than. She then took a copy of the vaccine sheet I received from our previous pediatrician to make a copy of it ?? The only reason why we were seeking a new pediatrician is because we moved, but after this experience, I will gladly drive the distance for my daughter. When Dr. Matsumoto came in, she proceeded to tell me how there's supposedly a shortage on measles vaccines, and she grieves all the children that will get measles and die insinuating that would be the case for my one year-old. She continued to tell me if my husband and I have concerns that autism is linked to vaccines, we don't have anything to worry about since the spectrum for those who supposedly carry the autism gene are the really intellectual such as engineers to really low functioning-so basically told me that we don't have anything to worry about since we're not smart enough to be engineers when she's never met me or my husband, and has no idea of our backgrounds. I didn't feel like I had any opinions or say in the matter when it came to my child and her health and that's completely unacceptable. Like I said, I am a full grown adult who has had negative reactions to vaccines throughout my life so we want to be certain which vaccine, if any, my daughter has any reactions to, and being that she is only one, we don't feel she needs to be pumped full of six different vaccines in one doctor's visit. We are simply spacing them out and by the time she's in school, she should be up to speed. Needless to say, I would never recommend this pediatrician office to anybody who has any different opinions on vaccines. Also, when filling out the paperwork, the question of my child's gender, "if different than assigned at birth" was on the form. That is absolutely disgusting and appalling to have that on a pediatrician form as these are CHILDREN! This clinic is a joke and can keep their sick beliefs but they aren't going to bully and scare me into thinking my child will die because she's on a delayed vaccine schedule. Goodbye! read more

We started going to this practice a few years ago when we moved to the area. Dr.Nima is wonderful- both of my girls and I love her! She's great with my kids, knowledgeable, personable, and empathetic. All of the other staff we've encountered have been very nice and helpful. My son has been a patient at TLC Pediatrics since he was born. He is now 5. In the middle of Covid, I received a communication from a third party agency that was neither the doctor's office, nor my insurance company, hassling me about a well check up. As we were in the thick of a long-covid battle in our home, I simply left a message that said I did not consent to having my son's medical information shared with the third party and I thus revoked it, and informed them that I would not be returning for a well visit until pandemic had passed, as it seemed counterintuitive to me to go to an office full of germs, while we had a covid battle in our home, to tell me what I already knew which was that my son was healthy. I was direct, but I was not rude. I spoke calmly to the voicemail. I never received any reply but I also never received another communique from the third party so I assumed they had honored my wishes. My son had a medical need arise last week and when I called to make an appointment, I was informed that I was dropped from the practice for that voicemail. I have three issues with this. 1. If a parent cannot express displeasure without fear of retaliation, that should concern any parent. The reality is they did NOT have my consent to share my son's file outside their practice. The third party said they were informed by my pediatrician. I should be able to voice my concern without fear of retaliation. 2. They dropped my son WITHOUT notifying me. So when I had an actual medical need, I could not get care in a timely manner. If they were going to drop us, they should have informed me so that I could establish care somewhere else in advance of a medical urgency. As a result, my son's needs were put off nearly a week while I waited for a call back from TLC, and then was able to get a new patient appointment somewhere else. How uncaring for their pediatric patient! How unprofessional! 3. Lastly, Dr. Matsumoto claims to be a woman of faith. Nothing about how she handled this was biblical. I asked to speak to someone to address the voicemail. While I was direct, I had no idea I had offended anyone or violated some "don't question us ever" policy, and was given no opportunity to discuss this termination with anyone in decision-making authority. Had I known I had offended someone or broken some policy, I would have sought to reconcile. I believe it's important to be direct and firm, especially when advocating for my son, but I had no intention of offending anyone at any time and I am sorry to know that I apparently did so. I always felt my concerns were dismissed by Dr. Matsumoto even when an active patient so I suppose this is completely consistent to be dismissed from her practice. My biggest concern was how unethical it was to leave an innocent patient without access to care because they failed to notify me of their unilateral decision. read more

This place really needs to stop over booking appointments. They book literally every half hour it seems and the waiting is ridiculous. The staff is very friendly but they need to get it together with the bookings. I get wanting clientele but my god, waiting with a 1 year old for over a hour is ridiculous and very hard to do. Will definitely think about switching doctors if they can't figure out a better booking system and stop over booking patients. read more

I was running about 7 minutes late and called to notify. I'm not sure if they were actually notified as it didn't even seem like the person that picked up were from the specific clinic. But when we arrived we were put in a room to wait for the doctor and the nurse took down my sons weight and height. Then we waited an hour before I decided to go ask how much longer, the assistant said that since we were late the doctor started on someone else with 4 kids. It didn't seem very logical to me that I should wait an hour for being 7 minutes late especially since I called to notify them. We would have been out of there in 20 minutes or less if they had either just waited a little bit for us or divided their time between the other patient and us. The assistant seemed very rude, so we just left about 10 minutes after I asked her. We're going to another pediatrician.... Its seems like many of the positive reviews are fake.... read more

I've been bringing my children to TLC pediatrics for 7 years now. My children love Dr. Ramirez, she's very caring, listens to concerns that I have, and puts my kiddos at ease. I have 7 children and been to various pediatricians before staying put at TLC, and I can tell you none of them compare to Dr. Ramirez. The only complaint I would make is having to wait a bit for your call to be answered, especially if you call in the morning, other then that I would recommend TLC pediatrics to care for your kiddos. read more

Often are waiting 8-10 minutes on the phone to schedule an appointment and then asked to "hold" when they answer. When checking in, everyone is friendly. We are always waiting in room an additional 15-30minutes even when having an 8am appointment. I recommend planning an hour for an appointment time. We've been seeing Dr. Ramirez and she's great and thorough for the past year. read more

The nurses I work with recommended this office and Dr. Matsumoto in particular. I am so happy we have found them! We have been seeing them since my first son was born, and now with our second son. The office staff is friendly, and the doctor has always been so caring about us as parents as well as our kids. We love TLC. We've been a patient since my oldest was a few days old and she's now, 13! Both of my girls love Dr Miller and staff. My youngest was sick a lot but I never had any issues getting in the same day appointment from any of the Dr's if Dr. Miller wasn't available. At times the wait was long but they never turned us away. Now that my girls are older we don't come as often but their attentiveness is always beyond expectations! Thank you, TLC! read more

Initially I was scared to try TLC Pediatrics because of all the negative reviews mentioning long wait times and rude office staff. But I'm pleased to say that my first visit with Dr Matsumoto was incredibly positive. I LOVE that there's a "Well Child Entrance" and waiting room as well as a "Sick Child Entrance" and waiting room at this office. I have a 2-week old daughter; I hate the idea of sitting her down next to sick children. I'm glad I won't have to worry about that as much at TLC Pediatrics. I was also pleased with how quickly we were able to make an appointment. I called on a Monday afternoon and got my daughter an appointment for 9AM the next day. We were seen promptly and waited maybe 10 minutes in the waiting room, which I found acceptable. Both the front desk staff, nurse and Dr Matsumoto were all extremely pleasant, friendly and knowledgable. Dr Matsumoto was warm and seemed happy to answer any and all questions that me and my husband as nervous first-time parents had. We felt confident that she cared deeply about the well-being of our daughter and cared about what was best for us all as a family unit. read more

Like so many posts, the doctors here are really wonderful. We've been going here for 6 years but the wait times for the last 2 have just been getting worse and worse. Book first morning appointment if possible, that's the only way to get in on time. Otherwise you'll be here 1-1.5 hours and you'll see the Doctor for 5 minutes. read more

My kids have been going to TLC for the last 3 1/2 years. We started out seeing just Dr. Nania, but after she left we have rotated between Dr. Matsumoto and Dr. Ramirez. They are both wonderful! We've come in for new born, well baby and sick kid visits and have always been impressed. Once I came in, after already going to an insti-care, only to find out that my child had been misdiagnosed by the other guys. I have always gotten in when I called for a same day appointment and the wait is usually pretty standard. My kids love coming because of the playground, video games and fun waiting room. They also love that every room has a TV/movie and my kids are entertained while I wait. read more

We've had several unfortunate issues with our previous pediatrician so we searched for another. Found TLC (Chandler location) and overall it's been great. But this review is specifically for Dr. Nima! SHES IS AMAZING! My 15 mo old loves her and she is usually scared of the doctors. Not only was Dr Nima very knowledgeable, not judgementa, friendly and very helpful but she is great with helping babies feel comfortable. I mean she was on the floor playing with my child and everything! Since my baby girl was born she's seen a few docs at her pediatricians office for all her checkups and Dr. Nima was by far the best. We have taken our first child to TLC for five years, we use to have Dr. Nania but after she left it's started to becoming more frustrating. He little issues of waiting at least 15-20 min past our appointed really started weighing on us. After repeated complaints it never seemed to get fixed and the nurses at the front window just seem like they have heard it all too many times to deal with another complaint. After today 10 October 2017 we will never be back, we waited almost 45 min for a one Month well check on our newborn until we got back to a room, it was after an additional 20 more min of waiting before the Dr. never showed up that we just left. Our Dr's were always nice and friendly, and the back office nurses were amazing when they were on their game, but maybe that shined so much more because of all the bad times. They did always get us in on times we needed to see them same day, which is amazing how quickly we got in on those days vs scheduled appointment days. What this boils down to is the copious amount of time wasted to see someone over almost six years and two children. read more

10 Stars for Dr. Miller. No stars for the wait time. Every time we go we have to wait an hour to see the dr, while other people come in and get called in a snap. It doesn't matter if we come 30minutes early or 5 minutes early. It is VERY aggravating, especially because I have to tote a newly 2 (I call her my crazy or Little Miss) and baby. Really if it wasn't for Dr. Miller I would have left after the first visit. She is AMAZING my baby boy absolutely adores her, yet doesn't want to be held or touched by any other person. Khristina Ramirez is the BEST pediatrician we've been to! We moved down to Ahwatukee in 2012 with our 6 year old. Usually it takes several tries at any doctors office to find your "home". I immediately knew I loved her! She always takes the time to answer questions and she's always very pleasant. We recently had her second child and he had some food allergies and she's been so helpful with giving me steps to you. I would definitely recommend her to anybody! I read some other reviews so I thought I'd comment. Yes, there can be a longer wait time, that's the downside but she's worth it because she takes her time with each patient. read more

Today was my turn for me to be that parent in need: Our child was very sick. Britney took my frantic call, she loaned me her strength in that call, she reassured me and let me lean on her when I was already exhausted from being ill myself. She helped us with providing options and time availability immediately which we all know is priceless! We love TLC pediatrics! The doctors in this group take the time necessary to really address concerns of both parents and the patients. We see Dr. Miller and she has done an incredible job with all three of our kids, who all have very different needs. While some reviews reference wait times that are inconvenient, it is a sacrifice that I will make so every patient (including my children) gets the time they need during an appointment. read more

Dr. Nania is the BEST doctor at this office. She is amazing! We have been coming to TLC pediatrics for over 10 years! We have seen all the doctors at some point and I have never had the same level of care as when we see Dr. Nania. The nurses and staff are all great as well. TLC pediatrics deserves all their 5 starts for the staff, nurses and for Dr. Nania. However, without Dr. Nania this place will not be the same. Dr. Nania is a great asset for TLC Pediatrics. We moved to Ahwatukee 6 years ago just to be close to her. I would NOT recommend this office to anyone now that Dr. Nania is not here. Again, Dr. Nania is the person, the doctor who made all the drive and all the wait worth it. I have 4 children, 3 of them with special needs. Human doctors are everything to me. read more

If you plan on breastfeeding, I would recommend you seek out a new pediatrician. Dr. Lopez may have been having a bad day, but I believe she came into the appointment with a bias. My son was 5 days old and we had just discharged from the hospital two days prior. According to her scale he had lost 1 lb, which I was told is common especially since I had an emergency c section. Dr. Lopez did not exam my son. She just held him up and focused on weight which was not a problem. It was her approach. She told me, " You are starving your child and if I gave him a bottle he would probably take it.( which I later learned full, babies will take a bottle cause they respond to flow) She informed me that if he did not gain weight in less than 24 hours she was going to do an immediate hospital admit, but never explained why. She quickly offered formula and handed us a sample pack from Similiac. When I answered all her questions that he was passing 7 diapers a day and we' ve been documenting. Her rebuttle was " are the blue blue or a little." I answered and told her they were blue. She also kept telling me my milk should have been in by now and I should be feeling let downs. My son started crying, and Dr. Lopez kept asking and looking at me, " are you feeling a let down " Wheh I insisted breastfeeding was different for everyone. She told me not really and pressed on with her facts of milk should have been in. I left the appointment upset and crying because I was informed I could breastfeed and do weight checks for at least a week before determining supply. I was also informed to being documentation to show feedings, which we did but she never asked for. Feeling defeated I supplemented because I honestly felt she would have called child services if I didnt show up. The next day I was fairly calm, spoke to friends in the medical field and knew her treatment was wrong. I also brought my mother and Aunt to the appointment for support.My son weighed 6 oz more and I knew he had been weighed wrong. I approached her on our interaction yesterday and she immediately became defensive. She attempted to chalk it up to miscommunication. I informed her that I was a licensed counselor and communication is my job and I was not misinterpreting. Just like I didnt misinterpret her bias and call to DCS if we didnt show. To which she continued to be defensive. I asked again why she threatened an immediate hospital admit and she could not give a response. We showed her our documentation and I explained the type of birth I had. She looked at our documentation suspiciously and my app as well that had additional documentation. The appointment ended with her saying I could find another doctor and an apology that basically implied that she was " sorry but not sorry." When we spoke to other friends about our encounter. They were surprised because they used her as well. However all the moms who were attempting to breastfeed are all supplementing. Go to Catalina pediatrics. Completely new experience. Everyone was smiling and cheerful. Understood breastfeeding. The doctor interacted with my son and when she saw he has a dirty diaper after we had already changed him for weigh in. She changed him after we rushed to get up to do it. All I can say is advocate for yourself. Get as much education and support as you can. read more

Fantastic service. We see Dr Nania, whose opinions I've really grown to respect. She's kind, and takes the time to explain her decisions/recommendations. I really appreciate this. She also remembers little details not only about my two boys but also random things that I've mentioned to her. This just underlines that we are not just a medical chart to her. We've also seen Dr Ramirez and Dr Miller a few times, both of whom have been pleasant. Dr Matsumoto seems a little more rushed (though in fairness, we've only seen her a couple of times and they were both times when the office was fully booked and they accommodated us to fit us in last minute). I also have to comment that the nurses are wonderful. We're very pleased with TLC. read more
