DO NOT use TLC Cleaners. They are deceptive, rude, and the owner is nasty. I brought in a sofa cover and cushion covers into TLC as they are an "organic" cleaner, no chemicals or fragrances. This is extremely important to me. I was quoted by a young gal working there that it would be approximately $92, but it may be more. And yes, no fragrances or chemicals. I said okay, if it's much more, will they call me, as the couch is not worth all that much money. She said they would. I never got a call and went to pick up my cover and cushions a week later. Upon pickup, I was charged $180. I asked to speak to the owner, and the owner's son was available. He apologized and admitted they should have called me, but that was it! I asked for a minimum of a 20% discount, which was still not enough due to their error in customer service, and was told he could not do that. I then waited for his father, the owner, to come back. This man was rude and disrespectful. He proceeded to YELL at me how much a cleaning like this costs. He would not make any concessions. He walked away from me, and I continued to talk with the son, who kept his composure. The father then came RAGING from the back, saying 20% off and get out in a very threatening manner. I paid $144 and left as I was so upset at the encounter. To top it all off, when I got home and unzipped the bag, the cover and cushion covers were in, they were FULL of Fragrance. BAIT and SWITCH!! Being new to the community, I wanted a local dry cleaners to trust! However, after dropping off my items and having my shirts examined I was provided a receipt for work being done. When I picked up my items later that week, the person provided a different receipt which was double the amount and said the material was different from my initial drop-off! She never called to make me aware of the price change or offered any other apologies or consideration to my satisfaction! That said, I will never use TLC Cleaners again!! read more

Never disappointed with this shop. They've done a great job on everything I've brought them. If the stain won't come all the way out, they tell me. It's not their fault I dropped food on my pants. They're efficient, courteous and have the item when promised 99% of the time. Give them your business. read more

I'll be honest. I haven't even bothered to try another dry cleaner in Charlotte. I came to this place because I get my alterations done at J'n'S two doors down. After my second trip here, they knew my preferences. By the third they knew my name. My clothes are always perfect. The staff is warm and friendly, which is a rarity these days for services it seems. The turnaround times are fast and they've handled any stains I've thrown at them with great care. The ONE time an item was pressed incorrectly (flat front pants where a crease was added) it was fixed promptly and SAME DAY. I doubt I would go anywhere else. read more

Brought a dress and a veil to be cleaned. When I picked up my items I forgot my ticket, so the gentleman looked it up and charged me $40. No problem.. until I looked at my ticket and it was only supposed to be $33. Not a huge difference but figured I'd ask why. I don't assume the cost of dry cleaning goes up if you forget your ticket at pickup. When the gentleman answered the phone I asked my question and he told me my (medium sized) dress was too large so they added a charge. One, what a horrible way to speak to a customer. Two, I'm pretty sure I was just charged this "fee" because they didn't think I'd have my ticket within 20 minutes of the pickup. What a shame. I thought I had found a new spot! read more

We used this dry cleaners for five years. They were never overly nice or did anything kind. They were just convenient. Once we dropped off some clothes off we actually needed back quickly. The dry cleaning machine they used was Broken, yes Broken and was not even supposed to be fixed for a couple days. They accepted my clothes and quoted me the typical turn around time. When I went to pick up my clothes. They were not done. NO PHONE CALL, really, NONE. When your services are not performed by the specified date. When they called to tell me order was ready... that's when I asked when the machine broke, it broke 2 days before I dropped off my clothes. They knew my clothes would not be ready on time with a week worth of backed up orders and no working machine. When did come back to pick up my clothes, there was no discount for the order being late, not being called on time before I a special trip up there, and none for having been lied to about the expected completion date of my order. Just an apology from a teenage kid. No Discount. And I asked for one. We forgave them used them a several more times. I went and dropped my husbands clothes off. I gave them my name. They pulled up my info and gave me my first name. And printed off a ticket. Wrong Name. Wrong Number. Partially accurate listing of the clothes I brought in. My husband went to pick up his clothes with the receipt. They can't find his clothes. He noticed the receipt was wrong. My husband took his clothes and left. They said they would call him back when they found his clothes. They called me back and told me, there was no problem and asked me to come in and pay the bill. After all of their mistakes. And not making the promised phone call to the correct person. 5 months later they were still calling me occasionally to ask for their money, with no mention of their mistakes or the missing pants. I told the girl on the phone not to call me again, after she told me I didn't know what I was talking about. She laughed loudly in my ear and hung up on me. I called her back to ask for her manager's name. I asked if this was how she treated all of her customers. I told her she did not know what kind of day I had had. (my husbands car was totaled, literally, an hour previously). She hung up on me again after calling me immature and saying I was being inappropriate for calling her back. She called me to begin with. She is the business person, in this situation. I called back again. She had failed to give me her manager's name again. She did however inform me that she would not get fired (laughing); she had been working there for 9 years. Still no name. I called back again. She asked me, "Is this how you get off?" Um No, and I don't appreciate the reference at all. Perhaps the owner should give his customer service position to someone who will offer his customers some respect. And graciously give a discount (or ahem no charge) when he or one of his employees messes up an order. .....If only so that the information age does not come back to haunt you. Seriously Folks. This is all actually true. All I have to say is now, is Wow! I remember specifically thinking a few years ago, why should I look up reviews for a dry cleaner, when there is one so close in an established area and shopping center. I have been a customer of TLC for over 3 years, since being very disappointed with a very upscale dry cleaner in town. The owners and employees at TLC always know me by name and take excellent care of my clothes. They can rush them for free if I request it, repair buttons, etc. They are always kind enough to carry my clothes out to my car for me, too. This has been by far my best experience with a dry cleaner in Charlotte. read more

I just left TLC Cleaners and will never go back again. My 85 year old mother dropped off my full sized quilt to be dry cleaned for me. She was told it was a queen or king sized quilt (which is the same price) and that was what they would charge. She called me from the store and I instructed her to leave it. I didn't want my mother to have to deal with it. I picked up the quilt today and asked to speak to the owner to explain that this quilt was a full sized quilt. He took it out of the bag and laid it on the counter and proceeded to tell me that this was a queen sized quilt. The argument went on for over 20 minutes. He said he charges the same price for all size quilts which was the end for me. I said I would just pay for the queen price just to get out of the store. It was the most unprofessional, rude, and ridiculous encounter I have ever had. The difference in price of a full size and queen size was nominal but it was the principle. This outfit has purchased an existing dry cleaning store at 11508 Prov Rd (Rea Shopping Ctr). The old owners were wonderful; gracious & hardworking. The staff at the new store are rude, rude, rude! The woman in particular really has a problem dealing with the public. My husband & I were in talking to them about a problem with one of our items. They refused to do anything. And while we were there another woman walked in to retrieve some items and she left in a huff stating that she never had a problem with the old owners. This place stinks! read more

I had a totally unacceptable experience this week trying to get a woman's down coat cleaned. It had a stain that had to be spotted before cleaning. Had to negotiate down from the originally quoted price (very high with no guaranty the spot would come out). Came back a day after it was due to be picked up and was told it had not been started. I then asked that no work be done via phone upon getting home and then went back the next day to get coat. They refused to give me coat without paying saying they did work and couldn't get spot out. I told them to give the coat to charity and stormed out. Do not recommend this cleaner read more
