I recently relocated back to CLT and found that my former dry cleaners no longer offered services. Regardless, I wanted a fresh start and found Elite Cleaners. First, they are in a very convenient location in south Charlotte and offer an array of dry cleaning services. I'm on the go for business so I like to have my shirts and pants pressed and ready to go, so when I dropped off my items I advised them as to what I'd like accomplished, and they were very friendly and accommodating. To my surprise there was not much of a lead time given they are super busy (I dropped off on a Saturday and 15 shirts and 6 pair of pants were ready by Tuesday). It was very affordable and all items were wrapped very well with a heavier gauge of plastic wrap than I've seen at other cleaners. We have used Elite Cleaners for years, the staff is always friendly and helpful. My son came in town and needed his shirt cleaned for an in-office meeting in 2 days. I couldn't make it in on the evening of it's delivery and mentioned that I would stop in first thing in the morning. I have been going to Elite Cleaners for 8 years even though they are no longer near my new residence. There service is superior and I wish I would have writte a review about how great they have been. The other day I went in, and the staff had changed. The new staff, ( 1st initial M), is just not the same. She is either outside smoking, on her way to smoke or just come in from smoking, not what I want to see around the clothes I just paid to be cleaned. The other day she basically told me to go somewhere else as my sweater I needed sooner than later would take an entire week to get cleaned. I've never experienced this "can't do attitude." I contacted Elite Cleaners regarding our daughter's wedding gown. The gown was raw silk, and we noticed a very small red spot on the gown about 5 weeks before her wedding. I think it was either a tiny drop of blood or red ink. We contacted the bridal shop, who then contacted the manufacturer; we were advised to bring the dress to a dry cleaners for spot cleaning. I called Elite Cleaners because they specialize in wedding gowns and had good reviews. I spoke to the owner, who suggested that I bring the dress to the location where the dry cleaning is performed so they could take a look at it. While I waited, they were able to clean and remove the spot. I was so pleased! They also offered to press the dress in order to remove some wrinkles that occurred when the dress was transported from the bridal store to our home. We had this done a few days later, and were very pleased with the results. Thanks to Elite Cleaners for saving the day with our daughter's wedding dress! read more

Used the location in Carmel Commons for the first time and LAST time took in 3 suits with a bunch of shirts 2 suits and the pants came back the 3rd only the pants came back but not the jacket they are sticking with their total piece count story and that I must have been mistaken and didn't bring the jacket in or "I lost it traveling" if you use their service make sure you have a count of everything piece by piece as they have no fault in their process read more

I always get my clothes dry cleaned at Elite Cleaners near southpark mall. that place is really nice with great employees, my clothes are always ready quickly and in good condition. I needed some shorts altered, it was a pretty tough job and I knew that. That store told me to come to the Carmel Commons location bc thats where their seamstress works out of. I went down there into this dingy store and it was just a different experience. These shorts are extremely expensive and I was getting a lot done to them. I knew that it was going to cost a lot to do what I needed. My issue is that they never gave me a time or estimate of cost. Which is like really all I came down their for. Anyways the shorts are not at all what a seamstress should've done and I was disappointed. read more

Terrible Customer Service I took a 7 year old prom dress to the Stonecrest location a while ago. Stains were gone and while it was over $20, I felt that was fair. I took 2 slacks, 2 shirts and a dress to the Carmel Commons location early 7/3. I was told they would be back after 6:30. I arrived just after this time and no clothes yet. I came back 15 minutes later and still no clothes. Fortunately my husband wasn't going out of town until the following Friday (they were closed 7/4) so I came back Thursday around 11:45. The store had a note on the door that they would return soon. I waited 10 minutes and someone finally came. She didn't seem too apologetic as I stated that this was the first and last time I would come to this location. Lastly, $6.20 per shirt for laundering is ridiculous! The only positive was she discounted the bill, otherwise I would have paid $43 for these items!!! Never again. read more

Just picked up my Irish Wool sweater jacket from Elite. This garment was so stained on the front I really didn't expect it to come clean. In fact, the clerk put so much red tape (to identify stains) on it, it looked like a candy cane by the time she was done. Well let me just say- it looks FANTASTIC!! Wow, I cannot blieve how many times they screwed up. Clearly we don't go and will NEVER go there again. Patches were sown on in the wrong color, then had to be re-patched 3 times. They told me it depends who is doing them that day....nice inconsistency! My best suit came back dirtier than when I sent it in and it still took them 2 times to clean. Check EVERYTHING. My wife's wedding gown took 2 months!!!! Seriously, don't chance anything with them, find another place, even if it is farther away. New to Charlotte and like another review said this dry cleaners in a good location so assumed it was nice. Not too many places motivate me to write reviews. If I could choose -1 stars I would. There was no one there so this should have been a sign. Dropped off my husbands shirts and a few of my things. We were shocked when the bill was close to 300 dollars. We lived in DC and could dry clean 2 times the amount of clothes for 300. If you want to preserve your wedding gown this is the place. DO NOT go to Elite Cleaners! I was new to Charlotte and Elite is in a nice section of town and nice shopping center, so I assumed they were a reputable dry cleaner. First time I went, I dropped off 2 items and they misplaced one of them. They insisted it was not back b/c it needed "special treatment" - even though it was nothing out of the ordinary in terms of fabric or spots. It resurfaced a couple days later, and they gave me a discount because of the delay, so I decided to give them another chance. The second time I went, they charged me $4 more for cleaning the same EXACT item I had dropped off before (and only lowered price when I questioned them on this). The final straw was they absolutely ruined a silk Eileen Fisher dress I brought in. The dress had some spots on the front and they told me they weren't sure if they could get it out but would try. Fine. I get the dress back and the spots are gone....I get home only to discover the BACK of the dress (which was spot-free) is entirely discolored and has what looks like rust marks on it. They never said a word about that. I took the dress to another cleaner, and they told me the rust-like spots were a chemical and would never come out. I used Elite Cleaners once, and will NEVER go back. The prices are attractive, but I sent shirts there and one of the shirts (which was Eddie Bauer and great quality) came back destroyed. The sleeve was sliced open horizontally (not vertically along the ironing seem like some older shirts tend do). I returned the shirt and they shipped it off and then it came back and I had to check on it instead of being made aware that they owner had made a decision on the matter. The OWNER stated that the shirt was worn out, which was completely inaccurate. From our conversation, she clearly did not know which shirt she was referring to as she could not even recall the color, style, make, etc. She just kept saying that it was worn out and she would be willing to look at it again. She was unapologetic and, quite frankly, rude. She only agreed that it was WRONG that no one made me aware of the rip and my husband got that great surprise when he went to put the shirt on before work. It got to the point where we were raising our voices as she was only offering to take another look, and I finally demanded my money back and that really that was a crappy solution because that the same shirt found on-line is worth $70!!! She only agreed to return my price for the dry cleaning which was only $17...terrible customer service. Not sure how businesses function this way. I will go back to Palace Cleaners on University near Dominos, which is more expensive, but they never surprise you with a destroyed shirt...The owner is a piece of work.
