He probably already knew that he didn't want to do the work but it would take more time that other types of similar jobs. Thornton Electric was able to get the job done so I'd recommend them over this "company".

It was a tricky project because the floor was not even underneath the doors, so you couldn't just apply a sweep. We contacted multiple handymen but only Aaron insisted on coming in and discussing potential solutions. We ended up having Aaron do a variety of tasks including installing deadbolts / smart locks on doors that didn't have any bolts before, adding thresholds and sealing all our lower floor doors, installing a towel rack into our shower and fixing weather stripping. This was all done at an agreed upon rate and we were very satisfied with his work, professionalism, pricing and timeliness.

I worked with Gareth through my contractor on a remodel for my place during 2021-2022. I was…read moresatisfied with the quality of the work him and his team did. A little more than a year afterwards, I was having trouble with a pair of outlets in my kitchen, and one in my garage stopped working. I called to ask them to come check them out. The garage was a dumb mistake on my part - it was one of the ones with a switch on the outlet itself that had flipped, so that was just a matter of pushing the button. The kitchen outlets we weren't able to reproduce the issue, but he gave me an estimate of a few hours of work to change out those outlets for the types with switches. I was really surprised to be hit with a $260 bill for this short visit of less than 10 minutes where no work was done besides pushing a button and giving me a rough estimate. I am sensitive to not wasting the time of his team, and understand why companies charge a service fee for home visits. I was just really surprised by the amount of the charge, especially given the existing relationship, and that this was pertaining to work his team had installed. I asked if this charge would be credited towards the work that was estimated, and he said he would give me a 15% discount on it rather than a credit (which would amount to far less money given only a couple hours of work). I asked if he would forgive the amount given the prospect of maintaining the business relationship but he said only if we do work within the next month. I paid the bill and let him know we wouldn't be doing business again.

He set expectations well and said he couldn't be 100% certain, but he would start with the least invasive solution, order the part, and we could schedule the actual repair when the part arrived. He also let me know what I needed to do to prep for the future repair, which was helpful. I was contacted to schedule repair when the part arrived a few weeks later. Jake arrived promptly at the scheduled window, shut off my water supply for me, replaced the part, and set expectations that I could possibly see the issue again because without going more invasive, it's not entirely possible to determine the root cause, which made sense for a plumbing issue. He was clean, finished in less than an hour, and also sent pictures of the WIP while he was repairing. I appreciated the promptness, professionalism, and transparency.

I hired Chris to add a power outlet and some light switches in my garage. The job took much…read morelonger than expected due to several unexpected difficulties he and his crew encountered. The problems, we eventually discovered, were due mainly to the fact that some of the wiring they initially used turned out to be defective. Despite the technical hiccups, I was extremely pleased and impressed with Chris and his crew and with the end result. I would not hesitate to hire them again for another job. Here's why: (a) We discovered Friday evening after the work had been done and Chris' electrician had left, that our garage lights sporadically no longer worked. We called Chris to see if we could get it rectified first thing Monday morning but, instead, he sent his electrician back over on a Friday night at 8 pm to address it, because he didn't want us to have any safety issues over the weekend getting in and out of the garage without lights. So his electrician, Thomas, left his family and came over on Friday night and stayed several hours - probably until 10:30 pm - to get it fixed. How's that for customer service? And Chris personally came over to our house after the weekend to check up on us; he personally spent a considerable amount of time re-checking the wiring job just to make sure nothing further was amiss. (b) In addition to Chris' and Thomas' commitment to getting the job done right and to immediately - and without question - fixing the glitches, there was the cost. The job ended up taking much longer than expected and yet Chris stuck to his original contract price, and wouldn't allow me to chip in more for the added effort. Bottom line: these guys are very much on the up-and-up, reasonably priced, conscientious and extremely nice to work with.
