Tax-Free Shopping: For tourists (non-EU/GB residents), the tax-free shopping option is a huge plus. When you purchase your item, let them know you're interested in doing the tax-free rebate. You should bring your passport but the person who helped me said a photo was fine. They'll print out a receipt for you to submit to Planet at the airport. The minimum purchase is 75 euros to qualify. If the purchase amount of your goods is below 2,000 euros, you don't need to get a customs stamp at the airport. Just return your completed form at Planet desk after security or deposit it in the Planet drop box and they'll do it on your behalf. Its most-unique greenhouse architecture allows so much natural light to come through the glass roof. I absolutely loved the look of it. We took a stroll through all three floors. Having never been to the country, I was unfamiliar with most of the shops, but I took note of the few I recognized (Boots, TK Maxx, Claire's.) We were momentarily tempted to try the Chinese restaurant upstairs but thought better of it. Restrooms are also located on the uppermost level. Not super bustling, seemed to be going the way of most malls. And although I wasn't taken by any store in particular, I enjoyed the structure's design & seeing what a Dublin shopping centre has to offer.

We visited this department store a few days over the course of our trip. I wasn't sure at first what I was planning to buy but I kept eyeing one of the Louis Vuitton perfumes that I had previously discovered on a trip to Maui. Their perfumes are definitely on the pricey side but the nice thing is they're small enough for carry on liquid limits, they have a magnetic lid, and they're refillable - and the refills are also cheaper than the initial bottle purchase. The amount of times I sprayed that perfume on myself over my Maui and Dublin trips, I was sold - so that was my first add to cart moment. Next, was a belt. I thought I wanted a Gucci Marmot belt but my cousin convinced me to check out the Celine department - instead I went with a Triomphe belt. It's such a classic and timeless design so it was the right choice. And finally - the ultimate big purchase was in the Chanel department. For a long time I have been eyeing the goatskin grosgrain cap toe slingback heels. I have tried them on in NYC before but hadn't gone through with a purchase - until this trip; it was finally time! Also to add, every single sales person that we interacted with was incredibly nice. Elsewhere, designer stores don't always have the best customer service; however, I felt nothing but kindness when I was mulling over my big purchases - which to me were really big. And they were kind enough to combine them into one receipt so I could get the best VAT refund as well so extra thanks to each of the sales persons who helped me. The VAT refund process was super easy too - I just dropped off the completed form with receipt information at the airport and after a few weeks received the credit on my cad.

The shoes especially reminded me of the fast fashion stores, mass produced shoes that look cute but may not be that comfortable. Some of the stuff seemed really cute though. I had this bright idea that I could fit into a girls skirt (8-9 years old) but alas the skirt didn't have a Zipper so I definitely couldn't fit.

Whenever I'm in Dublin I like to do a bit of stocking up and the O'Connell Street location is one of my faves. The store is bright, spacious, and clean.

They have completely rearranged the store and it's honestly a million times better now and definitely in a much more presentable state for a shop on O'Connell Street. Homewares are now located upstairs instead of in the basement, and there is a couch area across from the changing rooms at the back of the store for people to take a little rest which is a really nice and sophisticated addition, I don't think I've ever seen a seating area in any Penneys store besides at the shoes. Great area, same up to date stock as Mary Street store and saves you having to tip off down there if you're in a rush.

The clothes in Dunnes are of a very high quality and are a very reasonable price. My favourite at the moment would be their "Star Buy" Collection which would have very fashionable items at pocket money prices. I bought a coat out of this collection that is warm and really well fit, and it only cost me €35 a snip of the cost of a coat in other stores. At the moment they have winter clothes in this collection, including a lovely cardigan (black or cream) for just €20 and a long slieve shirt with belt for just €15. In Dunnes Stores on Henry Street, they have a whole floor dedicated to children's clothes and accessories which is absolutely huge. Also a men's section which is quite big also. If you fancy something to eat after all that shopping, there is a really nice restaurant on the top floor. I have been to this restaurant and found the food to be delicious.
