I found this to be a perfect spot to sit and munch & shop. Especially if you have kiddos and ya'll need a restroom break & again, sit & eat. It is super bright with all the natural sunlight coming in on this day. It looks like an old iron train station. I loved it. We walked in to TK Maxx. It looks deceivingly small from the outside. TK is huge inside.

Beautiful shopping mall. In walking distance from our hotel. Initially, my husand and i came here to find a stroller for our toddler, since we didn't bring ours. Found a shop called Argos, i belive. Super easy to use, just pay and pick up right there . Love it!

If you're in the Grafton Street/St. Stephen's Green area, it's worth your while to pay a visit to the Stephen's Green Shopping Center. The main atrium is impressive and attractive. The mall itself offers the usual assortment of stores, so if you're visiting Dublin and need something, this can be your one-stop shopping trip, with a Booth's Pharmacy, Dunnes department store and food hall (which in the US we'd call a grocery store) and plenty of specialty shops.

What the heck is this about?

Pretty weird bathroom experience here the other day. Normally you pay to get in, something like 20c, but I had no cash on me so the security person let me in for free. Very nice Fairly clean toilet bowl and some mild graffiti on the wall, a lovely bit of reading for in-stall entertainment. Much appreciated. Upon flushing is where I encountered my greatest problem. There was no lever to flush but rather a button that had a small label saying to hold the button for 5 seconds to flush. This disgusted me as everyone else's pee hands would have been all over that thing and it's blatantly telling me to break the 5 second rule so all the germs from everyone else's pee hands could get on my hands. This seriously needs to be sorted out.

With its ornate white detail and raised greenhouse frame, I really thought this was a refurbished building from the 19th century, an Irish landmark of historical importance. Imagine my surprise to find out it opened only in 1988 taking over a car park surrounded by punk stalls where U2 played during their salad days. Now it's a tri-level shopping center with inconveniently located escalators and random stores that frankly didn't hold that much appeal to me. The only stores that could be considered flagships are Dunnes, presumably Ireland's answer to Target, and T.K. Maxx, the European version of T.J. Maxx. Otherwise, it's a series of shops that feature goth clothing, novelty items, and a whole lotta shoes. It just strikes me as a waste of prime real estate since it holds such a central location off the main commercial corridor of Grafton Street. It's also right across the road from its popular namesake park. I was in there looking for something to eat for lunch and only found a food court that was quite similar to any that I've seen stateside in a suburban mall including a very unappetizing Chinese fast food counter. Once I got out of there, I ended up dining at Harry's on the Green on the outside of the shopping center. It turned out to be its saving grace.

As shopping centers go this is one of the best in Dublin. It's big and airy with lots of natural light, I'd even go so far as to say it's quite a nice building in itself. And the FM104 booth is a great way to remember why some of our favorite radio presenters haven't made the crossover to television(ah ha ha ha! BURN, swish, high fives all round). The Kylemore on the first floor is good for a quick bite between friends of different tastes. And there's an asian buffet upstairs for the really hungry. The top floor houses a nice gallery. Lots of famous caricatures mixed and mashed in with 'real' art-the way it should be, I don't believe in Gallery's. Oh yeah, there's a load of shops tacked on too.

Stephen's Green Shopping Centre looks an awful lot older than it is: the big steel and glass structure is like a shabby version of Crystal Palace, and yet is only about twenty years old. The shopping centre probably has best location in town, situated as it on St Stephen's Green (funnily enough) and at the top of Grafton St. Shops-wise, the big Dunnes Stores is probably, as they say in the retail industry, the 'anchor unit', but there are plenty of other big shops, too. There's a Tk Maxx, a big Boots and an Argos, the only one in that part of town, if my memory serves me correctly. There's also lots of boutique clothes shops (though passing the shopping centre recently, a number of these seem to be in the process of closing down), and also some stange but endearing shops, such as The Hat Shop (it does exactly what it says on the tin). Stephen's Green is a good shopping centre as such things go, but there is one thing about it that really annoys me. There is an escalator up to the first floor right inside the entrance, but if you want to get back down again, you have walk half way along the building to find one. A bit enervating. There's a few handy shops in Stephen's Green, and I guess that the building is nice and bright and airy, but there isn't exactly anything unmissable there, so if you're visiting Dublin and you don't get to see it, don't worry too much about it, it's not the end of the world.

I like Stephen's Green Shopping Centre because, unlike a many airless, artificially lit shopping centres, it spoils shoppers with natural light, from the actual sun! Although as Cathal says, it now looks a little the worse for wear, to me the glass exterior seems strangely creative in a city full of generic grey square shopping centres. Stephen's Green isn't the trendiest or most modern shopping centre in Dublin. It isn't home to many upmarket boutiques but it is pleasant to walk around in and it has a certain charm (perhaps this is related to the ever-enticing pick'n'mix counter or the eternal smell of warm croissants!). It houses many stores for 'practical shopping' such as Holland and Barrett, Boots, Sony Centre, The Laptop Shop and Dunne's, a number of fashion outlets, the largest being TK Maxx, and some specialist shops for perfume, greeting cards and hats.

It's not the best shopping centre in Dublin, but it's the one I've probably been to the most due to the location. It's the closest SC to where I work and can make it into a good few shops on my lunch break, if I really fly around. The architecture is a highlight. I guess I'm kinda used to it now, but still the big clock catches my attention every now and then. Some shops inside are not the cheapest places: Boots, Benetton, Argos. But there are some value places: TK Maxx, Dunnes. There's also a sizeable foodhall, which has been revamped recently. I've only been to the burrito bar and that was only ok. Toilets are 20 cent to use, but if you have a receipt from the foodhall, that gets you in for free. Or at least it use too.

THE place to meet people in town...you always see at least 20 slightly harassed-looking patrons peering anxiously into your face as you walk by, before compulsively checking their phone for the umpteenth time, just to be sure that it was the shopping centre and not the green itself (and let's face it, who hasn't made that mistake?!) that was the rendez-vous point. It's one of those 'landmark' buildings that everyone knows, tourist or local, and it does have some fairly cool shops...the fact that Dublin now has a Qicksilver shop is one of the best new additions, though there's still the old favourites as well. Home to a myriad of tacky, yet sublimely cheap, girl's clothing shops, it's got pretty much everything you could ask for...homeware, tattoos, groceries, clothes, books...more all embracing than many other shopping centres and better located too.

Stephen's Green Shopping Center is a traditional indoor mall, which is something not typically found in European cities like Dublin. It is huge structure with a big domed glass top, letting in a lot of natural light and making it seem really airy. It has lots of the stores and services one might need all jammed into one location. From Boots to Dunnes to Peter Mark salons (there are several!) to Argos, to drycleaners, to art dealers, this place has just about everything you could need. You could probably live inside here forever, actually. What with the bedding displays and food vendors, you'd never need to leave. You could consider yourself a high-class mole person. I mean mall person. Anyway. Overall not a wholly unpleasant shopping experience, but definitely not unique.

On a good day, it's a beautiful place to stand.

I have never been in a Tiger store before but I was really surprised. They sell all kinds of little gadgets and styling office supplies and other random things. They pride themselves on low prices and nothing in the store being over 30 Euro. They had random iphone cases for only 3 Euro and lots of little unique random things. It reminds me of Ikea a little in that you walk in with no specific purchase in mind but walk out with tons of things. It is a nice store and setup well for browsing with a nice circular path leading you through the store and finally to the checkout lane. Staff are friendly and helpful too. I will be back.

My favourite things I've found here have been postcard sized blank jigsaw puzzles. They're blank so you can design them yourself. They make great little presents or fun ways to send messages to people. On another stationary note they also sell 3 greeting cards for a euro. Yes THREE cards for ONE euro. Mad. Some of the cards aren't that great but there are always at least 3 cool ones. Also they sometimes sell stroopwafflels in the food section. Win!
