I have been a customer for over 20 years. Tina (the owner) goes above and beyond to accommodate my schedule. I have natural curly hair and over the years my hair has gone from a nice dark blond with natural highlights to a striped silver fox brown dull color! Tina has always worked MIRACLES with her coloring & highlighting skills! I walk in looking 50 and come out feeling like a hot 30 year old again. Tina can do highlights, low lights, wash, cut & dry my hair in about 1.5 hours. I have moved with them from the first building and just Tina and a couple of girls. I wouldn't recommend coming here. Not every stylist is the same, they don't listen to what you're telling them. I had long hair down to my waist and wanted a small trim, ended up with a short hair cut that didn't even go beyond my boobs. I wanted curtain bangs, but ended up with choppy bangs that barely go to my cheeks...really upset and disappointed with the results. Giving a 1 star bc kim (I think that's her name) was able to somewhat make it bareable and didn't charge me anything...but this is the last time I'll be coming here and honestly wouldn't recommend anyone. Go to the expensive place, at least ppl there won't butcher your haircut. Update - I went to to Craft and Company in Dallas and they agreed that this was a horrible haircut. I called at least two hours ahead of time to set an appointment for 2:30. I know with haircuts is hard to be exactly on time so I came in at 2:33 with the mindset that I was going to probably wait a few mins. I came and signed in and was not greeted by anyone or anything. I just assumed that I should sign in.. a common courtesy would be to smile and greet a customer coming in. ESPECIALLY a first time customer.. they did not do so.. not a good impression in my opinion. So I'm sitting here waiting for someone to greet me and finally someone asks me how can they help and I told them I have an appointment. Then I realized that when the lady whom I made my appt with didn't even ask me for a name for the appointment. I should've realized that this was going to be an unorganized salon right from the start. They seemed really confused. Anyways they said to give them a couple of minutes. I ended up having to wait 45 mins. The only reason I'm giving three stars is because the guy who ended up cutting my hair was nice and we had lots to talk about. Otherwise, they would've gotten a lower rating. This salon needs to step up their appointment book and organization. read more

Stylists absolutely do not listen, and refuse to do blonde hair color. I went in for a shampoo and flatiron, got talked into a root touch up, and then they RUINED the color by giving me super dark roots with light blonde hair!! They tried to lighten it but failed miserably (still way too dark, and charged me for BOTH root touch ups (including the one THEY messed up.) I spent nearly three hours for what was supposed to be a thirty-minute shampoo and style, and was charged a ridiculously HUGE amount for a completely unsatisfactory job. I went ahead and paid just so I could get out of there, but I will NEVER go back or recommend TK to anyone, EVER. Total nightmare. read more

Went to go get my hair cut by Ken today. They were extremely busy but Ken was very nice and professional and kind. I loved my hair cut and he made sure to confirm the hair that i wanted before he started. I would come back for Ken, but as for the other hair stylists, I'm guessing they care more about not upsetting customers than the safety of everyone else. Several hair stylists will let their regulars come in without mask even though there is a sign saying "masks required" and its obvious that they are regulars by the way they interact with each other. I will come back when they prioritize the safety of others and at least ASK the customer to put on a mask instead of just letting them do whatever. Stylist April was recommended to me by my niece - I don't go often but have been very happy with how April cuts and styles my hair. My hair is thin, fine, straight and flat so especially now that I'm in my 60's I want to look good but my stylist doesn't have much to work with haha! April also has a wonderful personality; she is cheerful and upbeat so it's no wonder she is popular. Good haircut that was fast and relatively cheap. However, I'd say that the customer service is pretty subpar. The individual I spoke with was a little rude and only offered one word responses. I asked him a question regarding the wait time and he wouldn't really answer my question, kinda as if he wanted to keep me from leaving. He also didn't make eye contact with me and was busying himself with whatever he was doing. I LOVE TK Hair Salon! I drive ~30 mins. here to get a good quality haircut, and they never fail to meet my expectations. For Mens haircuts: My brother comes here whenever he is in town to get a haircut. I am very particular about men's haircuts (I prefer a nice, professional, short haircut.) and every time we go his hair comes out almost perfect. We always try to get Thuy for our men's haircuts, she's fast and she cuts VERY well. (I posted photos of her work) For Womans haircuts: I got my haircut here in September by April; she has the hands of a professional. My hair was exactly how I asked and imagine. I get one haircut a year (I grow it out really long and cut it really short to donate), for the past several years at other salons I've had mediocre cuts, but this haircut was exactly what I wanted and more. She took about 30mins on it and she took her time and made sure it looked well with my facial structure as well as what I wanted. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who is wanting a good haircut for a great deal. The stylists here know very well what they're doing, all of them are very well equipped. Have not had a haircut that makes me happy in a while. Yesterday was like dream come true. I asked for Tina (the owner) but she was not available so I tried Henry as he was well reviewed here. I was so glad Henry cut my "difficult" man's hair. I am very difficult to please. Henry aka Hung (pronounced Hoo`ng in Vietnamese) was a pro. Henry's scissors skill was so impressive, one that I have not seen at any hair salon in Dallas, and I made Dallas my home since 1984. Henry took his time on my hair knowing that there's another appointment that has been waiting for 15 minutes. Henry was quiet. I liked that. If you wants someone to BS and share your life stories with, Henry is not a good choice. But if you want a fabulous men's cut, book Henry. read more

I took my daughter to TK hair salon to get a haircut for her birthday. We had a few different stylist. This older lady Tracy was assigned to us. She was playing Pokeman Go every 5 minutes while cutting my daughter's hair. Not only that she is distracted from cutting her hair. She made us wait because there was another customer that she had to wash her hair. We waited for another 30 minutes. She came back and totally forgot the style my daughter wanted. She had shoulder length hair. She only wanted to get a trim. Tracy gave her a pixie cut instead. They charged us a "long hair" fee of $50 which is unreasonable. When I spoke up, the cashier said: "well you can get this frequent customer card to collect stamps to get free hair cut." He and Tracy complained that my daughter's was too much. My daugther went home crying... She said Tracy gave her a boy's haircut not remembering what she wanted; made us wait; then charged us almost double the price. This hair salon ruined my daughter's hair and birthday!! We decided not to go back to this salon ever again. Please be careful who you get in the salon. Their attitude was horrible! read more

I've only had one haircut that I liked my entire life, and it took a stylist 3 hours in Taiwan to complete it. Well, no need to go out of the country for that anymore. After hearing many of my friends rave about April, I booked an appointment with her and got a haircut today. It included a wash, cut (with a trim, layers, and thinning,) and styling. While it was more than I prefer to pay for a haircut, my hair WAS very long, she was incredibly attentive and skilled, and I did take a larger part of an hour. Definitely recommend! It was cut way to short and and the bangs looked horrible. they stylist was on the phone most of the time and didn't seem to be paying attention much. I was a first time customer and I am really not satisfied with my haircut. While the my stylist took her time washing my hair, the haircut itself was rushed and definitely not what I wanted. The layers are uneven and go up way too high, and my stylist thinned out my hair excessively without asking me or discussing what I wanted regarding hair density. I was looking for a medium length haircut with a bit of layering but with the weird layering and thinning I feel like I have a side mullet. I have naturally wavy hair and always wear my hair natural but at the end of my haircut my stylist kept telling me I should straighten my hair. On Friday, 24March2017, my wife and I visited TK Hair Salon and had a positive experience. I got a haircut and can recommend Henry. Henry is a master hair cutter. He mostly used a scissor to cut my hair. I can tell by the way he fluidly cut and sculptured my hair that Henry is an experienced barber. My wife's stylist was Kelly. Kelly's expertise is cut and color. She had worked in other hair salons and demonstrated her many years of experience as a stylist by the way she nimbly, and creatively, used her hair cutting tools while cutting my wife's hair. Moreover, my wife was pleased by the way Kelly used a layering technique when coloring her hair. My wife was pleased with the hair color that Kelly recommended. So that you know, my wife and I do NOT own ANY hair salon business. Our only affiliation with TK Salon is that we were customers who heard about TK from other satisfied customers, and the reviews we read in Yelp.com. I agree with some reviewers they lie about prices when it's time to go up to pay they then tell you the total which is completely different from what they tell you and no way of fighting it because they will argue and act like they don't understand what the heck you're talking about!! I took my 8 year old child to get her hair thin out since her hair is thick... oh man they ruin her hair by cutting some hair in half in some places. I didn't notice until I got home. I told my daughter to take a shower and that's when we notice when brushing her hair. April saved my boyfriend's hair from a total trainwreck! He first got his haircut at a shady barbershop and he ended up looking like he got a bowl cut. (Google it). I looked up salons around Plano, and made an appointment at TK Hair Salon. They were gracious enough to let us book our appointment 30 minutes before they closed. Got there and was super lucky enough to have April as his hairstylist. She spent about 45 minutes on his hair (even though the place closed in 30 minutes) and was extremely meticulous about her work. Final result? We were SUPER pleased. She managed to transform the bowl cut into a decent, well-respected, and professional haircut for his job interview the next day! This happened 2 years ago, and we have been stopping by this salon specifically for April ever since. We pretty much go to her every two months for his haircut. We are extremely thankful for April! She gives you all the personalized attention you need and is extremely careful about her work. Best of all? Men's haircuts range from $10 - $15!!! What a steal. They also give out a stamp card, where after 10 haircuts, you get your 11th haircut for $10 OFF. We love April! She is also very pretty and kind - what more can you ask for?! P.S. She is FLUENT in English (American born!), so there certainly won't be a language barrier hindering you from getting your dream hairstyle! read more

I've been a regular patron of TK's Hair Salon for the past three years. They do an excellent job of cutting hair (and I'm very picky). As with any salon, I imagine your experience will vary with what stylist you use. Cindy has always cut my hair. She's fast, gives me the cut that I want and is easy to chat with. I've gone here before for haircuts (which to be honest are mediocre at best but cheap) but decided to have Tina touch my roots up instead of going to my usual (but expensive) hair colorist. She put highlights and lowlights in my hair and it turned out ORANGE!!! So not only did she rush me out the door (because she squeezed in two more people after closing) and she apologized for not having time to cut it AND she left it WET!!! She charged me $80! I went home and tried blow drying it to see the color(s) and it was HORRIFYING!! I could not be seen in public like this so I immediately went and got a box of brown hair color to cover up the mess on my head! I called the next day to let Tina know I didn't like it but wanted a refund and they refused to give me one! WTF!!!!! I told them I took pics and it was a DISASTER!! Are you for real??
