It was floral and sweet without being so overpowering that you couldn't taste the matcha. The matcha itself seemed to be really good quality, too. It was a beautiful, bright green, and they definitely didn't skimp on the matcha. However, it was grainy and lots of matcha would settle to the bottom even after I stirred it. It just needed more whisking because I was hoping for a smooth, creamy matcha, and this just wasn't it. Also, they only offer one size for their drinks, so if you're a thirsty hoe like me, you're out of luck. Overall, I was impressed with the quality of the matcha but not the preparation. Maybe it was just an off day, though! I promise I'll be back to give it another try. As for everything else, this is such a cute, quiet cafe with a bigger seating area in the back. They have a variety of pastries, savory empanadas, and drinks ranging from matcha and hojicha to coffee and fun options like tonics. My coworkers got the honey cinnamon latte and hojicha cloud, and they both enjoyed their drinks! I got the ham and cheese croissant, which was really good, but I wish it had more ham and cheese. My coworker got the lox bagel, which was gorgeous and loaded with toppings, but it was a little bland. Overall, I really like the vibe of this place, and I'll definitely be back to give the matcha another shot!

The building here was pretty big, with plenty of seating, a large area to order, and a pastry case filled with plenty of good-looking croissants. The most interesting part for me, though, was the roaster in the back and all the bags of green coffee beans. Interestingly, across the street in a much larger building is the Bird Rock Roasting Lab. After looking at the menu, I wanted a carrot cake latte, but I also wanted to try the beans they were obviously roasting. So I ended up ordering a large hot carrot cake latte and a small Americano for myself, along with an iced spiced pumpkin latte for my wife. Since this place was packed, it took a little over 15 minutes to get our drinks. That wasn't because they weren't cranking out coffee, as they certainly were. As for how my two drinks tasted, well, they were both good. I started with the carrot cake latte and thought it was nice. There was a definite sweetness and raisin flavor, which I enjoyed. While I couldn't fully taste the coffee, I still liked this drink. I also tried my Americano and thought it was rather good. There was some bitterness up front, followed by a deep, rich finish that lingered in my mouth for a bit. Weirdly, I didn't pick up that freshly roasted taste that I normally notice at coffee roasters, but even so, it was still good. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I thought the coffee here was quite good, but I would definitely consider ordering online and picking it up to avoid a long wait.
