There were three art teachers showcasing three different cars the kids could make, a big rig, VW better type and a race car. The kids had time to make two model cars, and they are given a little takeout box to take as the figures need a couple days to dry. The positives: (1) only kids participating are included in the 15 kid flat rate charge for parties, so non participating siblings and adults are unlimited up to capacity for the venue. You can bring more than 15 kids, but then you are charged per child or adult doing the art. (2) you can bring your own food and parents and kids can eat anytime during the party. I hate being forced to feed everyone the last 30 or 45 minutes of a party. We catered some Vietnamese food (Huong Giang Food to Go next to Whale Spa. Food was amazing) and ordered from Ameci's pizza in the same plaza (amazing service, prices and pizzas!) (3) venue is huge (4) location is good, it's right next to a Daiso in case you forget anything (5) staff are easy going (6) you don't need to bring any decorations unless you want to since they will make art to suit your child's theme. There isn't really a negative aside from the shorter time frame, we get 30 minutes to set up but the parties are set for two hours. Next time, I will probably purchase an extra hour. Remember to purchase three table clothes for tables that are 2.5 by 5 feet, I got them at Hobby Lobby for 99 cents each. I will be back for other parties.

Even when I asked to increase my reservation from 15 attendees to 19 the day before the event, the team was quick to provide. Robin (the teacher) even delayed the class when one of the attendee's Uber put the wrong address in their GPS and ended up on the opposite side of town. The class was easy to follow, fun, and everyone walked away with a painting they loved! The setup and scenery was beautiful: the patio looked over the beach which made for great photos. The Laguna Art Lounge also worked with the 4 kids in attendance by having them paint their own creations with plenty of glitter and fun colors. The attendees were wowed by the venue scenery and workstaff. The food was great, the wine and Champaign were a-plenty. I was even able to bring my own party favors and set up a display. I would recommend this venue to any body in the Laguna Beach area!

I am 27 years old, I'd say the class ranges from 17-70! There is about 10-ish people in the class. Each person works on their own piece- meaning she is NOT up in the front giving instructions while everyone paints the same dang thing. This is not the type of class. The classes are intimate, and very relaxed. She has everything you need to start your first masterpiece. Really, you don't need to bring a thing! You can choose any medium in the adult class- oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, ceramics, and probably even more. It's is SUCH a great place for a beginner, because you can try all the different mediums until you find one right for you, with no investment in supplies! This is rare. Sher really is a wonderful woman. She is as hands on or hands off as you need. If you need her to sit by you and walk you through every step, she's there. If you want to do you own thing she'll stop by with once or twice with encouragement and her two cents! Most students in the adult class have been going to her for years and doing their own thing, so she's always able to give extra attention to newbies. She is very chatty, it seems like everyone in the class is old friends. She has great stories to tell. I'm a bit quieter while I'm painting, but I do not find the chatter among the class distracting at all. Even though I've painted most my life, i was a bit nervous coming into a new studio- NO NEED! This is the most relaxed, kind group of people I've found. No artsy egos, no judgment, no pressure. Lastly, her children's classes and art camps seem to be super popular. Some of the parents are now in the adult class because they were jealous of how much fun the kids were having. How cool is that!

It was an hours event on Monday from 1-2pm (and is held every 2 weeks). The first half hour is a sing session with the sensational Christa Mae (www.christamae.com) who sings and plays popular nursery rhymes on her guitar. She's very entertaining and engaging. 1 book is then read followed by a craft. The craft supplies are provided by the center. It looked crowded when we were driving in to the complex. Luckily the parking lot was larger closer to the building that we needed to go to. It was such an awesome surprise walking in. Art makes me happy. I kept running around and taking pictures with everything. I even have a few bathroom selfies. I never like taking photos of just me in it but I couldn't help it. Bugs bunny, pepe le pew, winnie the pooh, and wizard of oz just to name a few of the amazing art work. It's like going back in time and seeing all your favorite cartoons. Great art to check out. I booked a party for my daughter and decided to go with the Ultimate Package (the highest package). There were 2 employees helping out with our party. The first 20 minutes after we arrived, they just sat at a table and had their own personal conversations. No welcome announcement to the group, no direction or rough layout of the party. I took the lead, set up the food, had the girls sing Happy Birthday, took pictures, served the girls, etc. I didn't even get a single photo of me and my daughter during this party. Finally after asking when the art was going to start, they said we could start with face painting and nail art. The face painting was not your typical face painting... see my photos below. Then they moved onto jewelry making, with clay. During this project, Employee A was occupied texting on her phone. She then proceeded to have personal conversations with Employee B in front of the girls (while all sitting at the same table). The table was so quiet for a large amount of time. There was no engagement with the girls, or even seeing if they needed help. It was so quiet, that I joined the table and started commenting on each of the girl's clay art, and conversing with them. Employee B did help the girls get more clay for their projects and said some words here and there. Finally Employee A put her phone down and paid attention to the girls for the next project. This project went better as there was more direction and actually an art lesson. In the middle of the drawing lesson, a couple families did a walk-in. I forgot to mention there were 2 other employees sitting around just drawing (not involved with our party). Instead of these 2 employees assisting with the walk-ins, Employee A ended up taking the kids that walked in and no longer assisted with our party. At one point, both Employee A & B were helping with the walk-ins, leaving the girls unattended. I found it odd that the other 2 girls who were available didn't assist with the walk-ins. At the end of the party, they passed out our "deluxe" party favors. It was junk. Literally junk. Like a single crayon and some random plastic pieces. I was embarrassed to have sent the girls home with these party favors. Again, see my photos below. Also, our package included giftcards for the girls, which I had to ask for because we didn't receive them. Employee B did not know about it and had to text someone to confirm that we get it. They did not seem familiar with what is included in our birthday party. The Ultimate Package is advertised as a 3 hour party with a 120 minute art lesson on canvas, but I kept getting inconsistent replies via email and in person *AT* the party- telling me I only get 2-2.5 hrs. Thankfully the girls didn't notice these things and still had fun because they were just excited to be together - which is why I gave this 2 stars instead of 1. I also wanted to mention that the other 2 kids who did a walk-in... the employee was doing the drawings for them. They had an iPad in front of them and she was drawing for them. Hardly an art lesson. Something to think about if you want to just drop your child off. The concept here is great, but they need employees who can engage with children more and not be on their phones. One employee kept saying to the other "What are you on? You must be on something!" in front of the girls. Please keep these comments and conversations away from young kids. ***Update*** Young Art did reach out and offered a class for my kids to re-do this experience. I asked my daughter, but unfortunately she was not interested :( I appreciate the call and offer.

My kids are young and the teacher did a great job with helping them do their drawing and then painting it. My youngest one needed more help, but the teacher did more guiding and let my kids truly make their own picture which both turned out great! They have other types of art you can do besides drawing and painting. They also sell some cool art supplies and accessories.
