This establishment remains a standout from my childhood. The ambiance, service, and cuisine are just as impressive as they were back then. I wholeheartedly recommend this location for its exceptional homemade burgers. Wishing them continued success.

TJ's burgers are pretty good! I enjoyed a Double Bacon Cheese Burger with fries! The meat was thin and flavorful. The bacon was huge and crispy! Everything did spill out of the burger, which made me a little sad haha. Right now, you do have to take your orders to go, no dine in, but there are some tables outside. I had to take my order to go because I didn't feel comfortable sitting outside. Either way the food stayed warm on my way home. I'd go back!

Went to tjs hamburgers for some nostalgia.Sad to say it is not the same prices for a combo are waaay to much almost $17 for a single meat. They forgot my drink I asked the manager for my medium drink he went back and forth with me telling me I had a small till I showed him the receipt.Took to bites a realized it has no cheese which I specifically asked for cheese on it.Took my order back thinking they would remake everything, NOPE they just slapped cheese on it sent it out.No wonder they have empty dinning room this place use to be packed at lunch time.

The buns are nicely toasted and a high quality bread. But no one goes to a burger joint to review to bread. Overall, the burger is okay. The beef patty has a good flavor, but it is very thin and there is too much bread in comparison to the meat. The French fries were great but the fried pickles were disappointing.

Been coming here for years. Today I Placed my order over the phone at 6:50 PM (gave my order and my info). Showed up at the drive thru lane and the employee(female) stated they didn't have my order so I placed it again with her. Waited for 20 minutes in line and another employee (male)came out asking if I was ready to order since they did not have my order inside. I explained I gave it to the female employee who stated she never took my order. I had to repeat my order twice not including the phone in order. Someone dropped the ball & never took responsibility for it. Service & attitude of the employees sucked.

This looks like the foo that works there

Went on Sunday late afternoon. Was waiting behind several cars. I notice employees totally skipping my vehicle. I gave a quick little beep to get someone's attention. One of them looks at me then turns away. Same employee later passed me and when I tell him I'm ready to order, he's completely dismissive. I was calm up until that point. SAME guy then decides to take a different route to OTHER cars. That's when I'm pissed. I get out, and go to the door. Instead of checking on me, they just motion for me to call. VERY RUDE!!! I'm including a picture of that employee. Bunch of jerks. Never again. Managers and/or owners need to bump up their game.

Pro: Burgers still good. Fries and Onion Rings still abundant. Con: They were out of shakes.Their social media has not been updated to acknowledge the "new normal". CONCLUSIONS: Some of us go out of our way to keep unique local businesses alive. I don't want "chain food" to be the only survivers. Social Media is the great equalizer. Your loyal customers are engaged more than ever. They are bringing you new customers more than ever. Don't blow off that opportunity.

1/4 pound cheeseburger. Chili cheese fries. Onion rings.

A San Antonio local establishment with quick service and good burgers. A great alternative to megacorp "food".

FIRST TIME VISIT!…read more Woohoo! Been looking for chili cheese fries and happened upon a review for this place boasting fries with a homemade chili so we HAD TO stop in tonight. THE LOCATION: on the very end of a string of businesses in a strip mall that I've never been in before, so that was cool. Lots of parking, that'll never be an issue. And right off the 410. THE MENU: Burgers, dogs, Mexi-style munchies and a variety of frozen dessert-type items like shakes, frozen fruit concoctions and Italian ice. THE STAFF: I wasn't overwhelmed with a warm welcome and smiles, at least from the guys. Lol! They should really work on that. There was a sweet gal who ran out our food orders and she was great. THE FOOD: I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich deluxe with tots and a sweet tea. The grilled chicken was juicy and cooked well and the bun was lovely, slightly sweet and toasted. Overall, the sandwich could've used more flavor, like a creamy bbq spread and cheddar instead of the "Swiss" cheese that tasted more like American cheese. But overall, 7/10. The tots were extra crispy and the guy who took my order didn't take heed to my request for ranch. I was too lazy to get up again so I settled for ketchup. The sweet tea was nicely sweet and fresh, I'll be sipping this in my dreams. The hubby ordered the bacon cheeseburger with chili cheese fries and an Oreo cookie shake. The burger looked good and he ate it quick, so there's that. This guy can EAT so it surprised us both when he slowed down fast after eating that burger. Lol! He kept saying how filling it was, but then he also killed a large shake before the food arrived, so there's that. He ate most of his chili cheese fries, leaving me a few bites to sample. Not bad. I order a Coco Haven frozen dessert to go and omg is this thing delightful! Vanilla ice cream and coconut Italian ice (?) with a blue snow cone-like syrup drizzled throughout. I loved the texture of what I believed to be Italian ice. Smooth and flaky, a perfect icy dessert. OVERALL: decent eatery, the hubby said we can go back (LOL!) Shockerrrrr! But I recommend the staff tries harder to make customers feel welcomed and comfortable. The next visit will be telling.

Such a cute place with a little kid play area and lots of outdoor/indoor seating. Our waitress was AMAZING, I regret not asking her name. She was kind, generous and empathetic that we has a pair of twin toddlers with us. The food was delicious, I had the Benedict burger (substitute for turkey burger) and tots. My friend had the fish taco and bacon cheddar soup. Both were superb. I will definitely be back to this awesome place in the future. Five stars for everything especially the waitress!!!

07 Oct 2026 Oh my,…read morenot so good. The husband ordered the southwest panini with tater tots. I had the Tex-mex burger, also with tots. Husband said his was OK. My burger sounded like it should be very flavorful: queso, pico de gallo, guacamole. Sadly, it was pretty bland. Also, the burger appears smaller, yet retains a $14.95 - $16.95 price. Tots are $0.25 extra. The burger woes probably can be attributed to the high cost of beef and the use of a lesser cut of beef. I'm sure Tycoon Flats is not alone in this. On a positive note, the menu now lists traditional flat nachos, along with the pile of mess nachos. I will have to try those flat babies. Years ago, they were terrific. Trevor our server was just fine.

I ate here with some friends and we had a great time! I ordered the Pop it like it's hot with curly…read morefries which had cheese, cream cheese, and fried jalapeños. It tasted great and it made me excited to come back and try the other options they have! The curly fries were also seasoned well and very crisp. They might've been a bit understaffed because there was no one at the register when I walked in so I had a wait a minute or two before receiving service. But when she took my order and gave us our food she was super nice. The food also didn't take long to come out either. I very much enjoyed the outdoor area I sat at with my friends. The cars driving by were a bit loud but my friends and I still enjoyed our time and the flowers around the area were very pretty. Highly recommend and I need to come back here!!

Definitely a good start! The restaurant wasn't particularly busy, so naturally, I expected prompt service--and they delivered. Our food arrived within approximately five minutes. I ordered the Frito Pie Chili Dog, while my friend went with the Don't Go Bacon My Heart. Now, let's talk about the food. Flavor-wise, no complaints! Everything was there, and the chili dog had great potential. However, my biggest disappointment was the lack of chili. When you order a chili dog, you expect a generous helping of chili, not just enough to remind you it's supposed to be there! My second issue? The parchment paper. The hot dog was served directly on parchment paper, which absorbed much of the juices and ended up sticking to the food. By the time I was finished, I felt like I'd eaten half the parchment paper along with my hot dog! Not exactly the extra topping I had in mind. The verdict: Good atmosphere, friendly greeting, quick service, and flavorful food. A little more generosity with the chili and a better serving presentation would easily elevate the experience. Would I return? Absolutely! There's definitely potential here, and I'm willing to give them another shot. Just one request for next time: More chili, less parchment! Final Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars.

The…read moreservice was great, the restaurant was clean, and the owner took the time to explain the menu and make suggestions. We ordered Da Slippah, and it was an EXCELLENT choice. He even showed us around and introduced us to his family and staff, which made us feel right at home. The food came out quickly, and the burger was fantastic--but the true STAR OF THE SHOW was the bread. Think Hawaiian rolls, but softer, fluffier, and sized for a burger. These burgers were no joke: meat, cheese, grilled onions, and a secret sauce--and honestly, they didn't need anything else. The grilled onions and sauce were the perfect compliment, and you could taste every flavor in each bite. The drinks came in cans. I didn't notice a fountain setup, so that might be why. It would've been nice to have a cup with ice, but I didn't ask, so maybe that's an option. Overall, this place is definitely worth a try--and we will be back!

I can't speak on the authenticity of this place as far as ethnic cuisine but I can tell you this was hands down one of the best burgers I've EVER had and I've had plenty!! It was a smash burger style. I love my burgers soft and this just melted in your mouth. Wasn't a fan of the fries but who needs them? I told my husband if I come back (we don't live in the area) then I am getting 2 burgers instead of 1 burger and 1 fry! Ordering was simple and fairly quick. The time to receive food wasn't too bad either and that burger was worth any wait anyways! Hope this place stays around!
