    Ginormous helping of Nachos...dive in.

TJ's Baroda Tap has quickly carved out a loyal fan base since new owners reopened the iconic corner pub at Lemon Creek Road and 1st Street in downtown Baroda, Michigan. While the building has seen a few name changes and owners over the years, this latest incarnation is clearly hitting the sweet spot with its mix of comfort food classics, creative specials, and a staff that treats you like family. Though the menu shares some greatest hits with its sister location--TJ's Sports Bar & Grill on M-140 in Watervliet--there's plenty that's unique to Baroda, and locals are eating it up. Our first dish was the towering Classic Smashburger. Two seared 4oz patties brought the beefy flavor, but stayed juicy inside. American cheese, shaved lettuce, tomato, pickles, grilled onions, and a creamy house-made "smash sauce" turned this burger into a two-handed, napkin-requiring masterpiece. It's messy in the best way possible--don't even try to eat it pretty. We paired it with their thick-cut Sea Shore Fries--skin-on, seasoned with sea salt, black pepper, and garlic. You can also opt for Crinkle Cut or Zesty French Fries if that's more your vibe. The kitchen loaded up Crinkle Cut Fries into our Bluegill Basket, which is my "go-to" at the Watervliet location. I love the flaky, tender, and mild-tasting bluegill flesh with subtle sweet notes. The light dusting of seasoning in their mix really accentuates the sweetness of the bluegill. I catch and cook bluegill often and have tried without success to duplicate their seasoning blend. Then came The Hammer. And wow--this sandwich doesn't play around. Picture a full pound of hot shaved ham, stacked with melting American cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mayo, all tucked between thick slices of locally-made sourdough that's grilled just enough to hold it all together. It's smoky, salty, juicy, and completely over the top. The fries were the Zesty variety this time, which were thinner but nicely seasoned. Pro tip: If you can't finish The Hammer in one sitting, don't worry--it makes a great breakfast, too. To seal the deal, we munched on the Loaded Nachos. The photo doesn't do its mammoth size justice--this mountain of chips comes smothered in taco meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, olives, and jalapeños. You can upgrade to chicken, steak, pulled pork, or brisket for just a few bucks more. It's so massive they send leftovers home in a pizza box. (True story: Shelly and I took ours to my parents, and they got three more meals out of it!) The bar itself is warm and inviting, centered around a horseshoe-shaped setup with a solid beer tap list--or "Baroda-Soda" as they like to call it. It's the kind of place where you're just as likely to make a new friend as you are to find your new favorite comfort food. You mostly likely leave with a box of leftovers.

Great food, good atmosphere, family friendly and good selection of beers on tap. They have Blue Gill and Perch which comes in large portions. Fries are a bit unique and very tasty. Haven't tried the smoked brisket, so I have a reason to return. Extra points for cleanliness and tvs.

Amazing service! The menu is FULL of so many yummy options! Looking around we couldn't decide what to get but finally just decided that we'll have to come back! Just a nice vibe and so many smiling faces! Awesome as a local, might just be my new regular spot! We ended up getting the BLT with house-made chips and the onion ring burger with zesty fries!

Large horseshoe bar. Classic neighborhood tavern food. Generous portions. Fabulous BBQ combinations. I recommend the bbq tacos or burrito.

Rios Mexican Grill is one of those hidden gems you're so happy to stumble upon on a nice summer…read moreday. It's essentially a roadside taco stand, but don't let that fool you - the food is incredibly fresh and full of flavor. It feels very local and family-run, which adds to the charm. We visited last August during a family trip, and the fact that my mom, who usually avoids roadside food spots, was the one who recommended it says everything. We were honestly shocked (in the best way). Ordering is simple: you place your order, get a number, and wait for your food. There are benches available for seating, though no bathrooms, so it's good to plan accordingly. We ordered a variety of items - tacos, burritos, quesadillas, chips with salsa, and Jarritos, and were happy with everything. The portions were generous, the ingredients tasted fresh, and everything was well-prepared. I even enjoyed some leftovers the next day! If you're looking for delicious, no-frills Mexican food from a local spot, Rios Mexican Grill is definitely worth checking out.

You order at the counter or a kiosk, they hand you an in-house pager and when it flashes, you get your food....and for this they guilt you for a tip at the time of payment... On top of that, there is no fountain drinks, you fetch your own out of a cooler. I ordered a steak burrito and my wife ordered the taco bowl. Again, had to get your own utensils from the counter. After I took the foil off the burrito, it immediately began to un-wrap and fall apart into the foil...(for that I could have ordered the burrito bowl)....was very difficult to eat. The taco bowl was just ok. Bottom line, the food was far short of great....mediocre at best. Sorry, won't be coming back.
