I would NEVER recommend this salon to anyone. I went in on a Sunday a little before 11 and asked if they could do a pedicure and a manicure. I guess I should've asked then how long it would take but in my 20 years of getting my nails done, I've never spent four hours at the nail salon. They started with my pedicure right away, which actually was nice. It did take longer than expected, but at least I was sitting in a massage chair... but then comes the manicure. I asked for short acrylics with a micro French manicure and showed a few pictures for inspo. I asked if he could do it which he said he could: if he would've been honest and said no, I could've just went with a solid color. I kid you not, this manicure took just under 3 hours. And looked NOTHING like what I requested (see pictures below) . I ended with acrylics that were much wider than my true nail bed, longer than I asked for (even after asking him to shorten). my cuticles were irritated, inflamed and painful!. I would've been there for even longer than four hours if I didn't finally say something two hours and a half hours into my full set, asking if he would be done soon. The French tip looked NOTHING like what I asked for. He painted the white on about five times thicker than I requested. I asked him to make it thinner, which he barely did but at this point I was late for my afternoon plans and just needed to get out of there... so I said thanks and I tipped 20% (he was nice even if he did an awful job but looking back I shouldn't have tipped anywhere close to that). I was so mad at myself afterwards because my nails were nothing like I wanted. I work in medicine and needed something subtle; not bold outdated pink and white nails. Not only did I spend literally four hours at the nail salon. I then spent most of my Sunday evening filing my nails down, trying to make them look in proportion to my actual nail beds and make the french tip thin like I requested... I ended up painting over them cause I still hated them and now my nails look worse than they ever did before I walked into that salon. Save yourself the time, money and heartache and look elsewhere. read more

Always friendly, clean service. I go to Tammy or Jack and both do very nice work. I recently started getting nails done again regularly and am always pleased with my service. read more

My mom used to go to Tj's since before it was evenTj's, back when jack and Tammy were employees and now owners. So I figured coming years later, it'll still be great... but unfortunately my nails look like I was practice. The lady who did my nails was very nice and also accommodating when I asked her to unstick my pinky nail polish and skin. BUT I got a gel polish manicure and I still have leftover polish on my fingers and she didn't even get my entire nail bed. I'm pretty disappointed as it was very visible but I already complained about the sticking, I felt it wasn't worth it at that point. She did her job, but wasn't a good job by any means. I posted it on my own social media how disappointed I was and I had a few people reach out about how it has gone down hill and no longer worth going to. I hope they can take this into consideration of fully training their staff to keep the reputation they once had, up! read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!!! If you like $50 dollar 15 min cold water pedicures and flies landing on you the whole time. This place doesn't deserve any stars. read more

85 dollars for the worst set I ever had done. Asked for coffin got thick square nails, and polish all over my hands and missing chrome on the sides. Terrible shaping rude nail tech. The chrome used was defective, bubbled and smudged. Establishment has uncomfortable chairs, no AC on a 100, degree day in Ukiah and it's dirty read more

So I have been coming here to see Jack and Tammy for the past 24 months. I absolutely love the quality manicure and pedicure that I get from JACK. He is truly a fabulous nail artist and does many cool designs that are classy and tasteful for me. I recommend make an appointment with Tammy or with Jack they are both superb! I highly recommend this business! read more

Horrible is even too nice to describe this place. Filthy and would bet money that the nail tech I had today wasn't even licensed. Worst "cold water" manicure I've ever had in my life. Nails weren't even filed and the edges feel like knives. I wish I would have just walked out when they tried to put new color on top of an old color. read more

Never again. My wife and teen daughter made appointments for Spa Pedis, like they do on a monthly basis. 1. Daughter received a 15 'spa pedi' which was splash in the water, file nails and paint (daughter did say she didn't put a top coat until after they had left). 2) wife alerted her girl that the water was too hot and the woman tried to force her feet in the water saying "oh, it's good for you". 3) wife got cut TWICE during the trim process. 3) gel polish is uneven and has a sharp point on the big toe (how does that happen with the polish). Now the best part - wife shared her disappointment in daughters 15 minute spa pedi when Jack immediately denies and says "we have a camera". My wife tried to continue to explain - and Jack kept pointing to some corner saying "we have a camera". He refused to listen to anything my wife tried to say about their experience with responding with "we have a camera" louder each time. My wife finally said "then let's watch it NOW"! He promptly shut up. My wife was willing to pay for what they received (and did).....but will not be going back. This location was great with Tammy running it, but with her husband Jack there now it will probably ending up closing like the court house location due to his attitude and the huge drop in quality. read more

I have never had a worse experience at any nail salon ever in my life. They were rude, argued with me when I was trying to tell them what I wanted, and didn't listen when I kept telling them my nails were uneven. My fingers hurt, my nails look horrible and I am never giving them my business again. read more

I saved up almost $100 to get simple French Tip acrylics and i feel like a wasted all my money. usually this nail tech is really good, im not going to say their name, but idk what happened this time. the nails are super chunky, uneven and thick and not what i asked for at all. i'll provide pictures of the nails vs what i asked for. they weren't super pricey, being $50 but i still wish i'd said something before paying. i tried explaining that i didn't want a lot of white and for the white to be only around the tip of my nail but they didn't understand what i was trying to say. read more

I asked for the first photo (screenshot) and the nail tech gave me the second photo. They looked nothing like the picture, the nails were lumpy in certain spots and began to peel off of my nail underneath within 3 days of getting my nails done. While I normally don't care about prices, the fact that this was $65 and nothing like what i asked for is ridiculous. read more

Hands down the worst manicure i've ever paid for. I went in for a regular nail polish manicure on a short square nail, and left with the messiest work ever. Somehow there was black nail polish and top coat all over my finger, yet not a single nail had been painted thoroughly (each nail had a pretty noticeable gap between where the side of the nail ended and where the polish stopped). I was also very shocked to see that most of the staff failed to wear their face coverings correctly (mouth AND nose completely covered), and also failed to wash their hands or sanitize between clients. I would never in a million years go back or recommend this place to anyone. If you're thinking of getting your nails done here, I highly recommend you reconsider. read more

Bad. For two reasons.1. My nails were destroyed - they are now super floppy and thin / bending all the time after my gel manicure yesterday. 2. My gel manicure is already showing the tips of my nails - I got is YESTERDAY. If you like to have your nails feel healthy and strong- do not have a service here. Especially natural nails, especially thin or fragile nails. I use gel for extra strength and this service provider took away the health of my nails. So frustrating. A message to TJ nails, it is bad business, rude, and disrespectful to force a client into doing something when they explicitly ask you not to do in the middle of a service. STOP DOING THIS. read more

I dont even want to give one star because my step mother got me a $100 giftcard for my birthday. I misplaced the giftcard the day after I got it and I called to see if they tracked their giftcards like the other places ive been to do, Nope. They dont. They treated me like I was trying to lie and steal for one. The owner wasnt nice at all and didnt want to even listen to anything I said. My step mom just got charged for $100 and I didnt even get to use it to get mine and my 5 year old nails done like I had promised her. I am pretty upset. DO BETTER! I CANT BE THE FIRST PERSON TO LOSE A GIFTCARD. read more

I can't believe they did me like this!! My nails were unfinished barely got the glue and fake nail on. Had me waiting an hour for someone to come back and finish what they started! Until I finally just up and left. They were rude when I asked for them to take them off. No way I'd recommend this place!! read more

I've tried at least 5 other nail salons in Ukiah and this is the best. My gel manicure lasts over 2 weeks and pedicures have been great. I appreciate that all services are completed in a reasonable time. My go to in Ukiah. read more

I went to see Sam today for a very long overdue mani/pedi. I thought I died and went to heaven.it was THE most relaxing and healing service I've had in I can't tell you how long! Me, my friend and her mom all went to this spa and got acrylic nails. It took 2 hours to get all three of us done even with an appointment. My friend and I got all black and the black is black in darker light and blue in the sun. My friends moms nails are very uneven and have gaps between the cuticle and the new acrylic! Unbelievable. . . read more

First off what happened was my appointment was scheduled for the wrong date after confirming the day I made it. My time is important!. She made time for me anyways because she realized it was her mistake. So others had to wait because she messed. I don't normally get my nails done here but thought I'd give them a try and it's been disappointing to say the least! I'm having a hard time typing because my thumb nail is so big compared to the other nails that Tammy didn't replace/fix. I asked her to fix it because they don't match anymore and I was willing to come back another day so she could fix it appropriately but she said no I'll file right now!! Well she filed and it's barely smaller and it's missing the polish because she didn't want to take the time to do it right! So now I'm walking around this very moment with gargantuan thumb and I don't plan on hitch hiking although it would be perfect if I was!! But I have a car!! I just grabbed my piece of pizza with my thumb because it's so darn huge... definitely not Tammys best work. Not going back there again really disappointed... read more

Decided to give this location a try since the downtown location was not great. Neither location is good. David did my nails and they are VERY thick and the white is too far down and looks awful. Going back tomorrow to hopefully have them fixed. read more

Julie did my gel manicure and it looks perfect. So much better than what I received at Ukiah Nails across the street...5 total layers on my nails so they'll be stronger than the three layers I received at the last salon. Much more attention was paid to my cuticles and nail filing/shaping as well. Totally worth paying $32 (cash...I think credit costs $35) vs $30 for this. Only knocking one star because of the lack of polish selection. I went in wanting black but it wasn't a color offered to me at the time. Also, zero hand massage, just a quick application of lotion. Maybe this is just how they do things on the west coast? Where I'm from you pay even less and get way more...cuticle lotion and heated softening, massage, etc are included at half the price. Anyway, Julie did a great job at making my nails look gorgeous and she was nice. No huge gaps in my polish and zero polish on my skin so it will grow nicely without flaking on the edges unlike my last gel mani. Tip your esthetician! I watched another lady leave without tipping a single dollar! So rude. Do your nails at home if you can't afford to tip someone who provides you a salon service. read more

I like this nail salon. I used to see Jack and Tammy @ Elaine's but since they had moved, it's rare parking in downtown Ukiah so I am glad they opened this location. There is always parking and Tammy does a great job on my nails. read more

I looooove TJ nails & spa!!! Tammy is my girl! She's fun to be around and is very nice!! And her craft is one of the best!! I'm always satisfied when I leave! Thanks Tammy!! read more

Had the older woman twice now. The first time (around 2 years ago) she shoved a tool into my skin and blamed it on my weak cuticles while my finger bled everywhere. My pedicure about a week ago had lukewarm water. When I put my feet in I said the water was perfect. She then put cold water in for another 3 minutes or so which resulted in room temp water. The foot massage was basically her rubbing her thumb up and down my shins for a minute or so. She asked if I wanted a flower. I asked her for a feather. She said she couldn't do a feather so I asked her for a design but stressed three times that I didn't want a flower. My design was a basic flower. I only came here because my aunt made my reservation. Why come to this location when the one by the court house is vastly superior in quality and experience. read more

I love TJ nail spa. Tammy usually does my nails but if she is busy Sweet Jack is there. Always a good pedi and Gel fill. I have also used David and Ana. Experts !! Try them and relax and enjoy!!! read more

I am giving this two stars just for the fact it seemed like a day care. Pedicure and manicure ok. I felt so sorry for one of our local teachers whom I assume was trying to relax after a day of working with little ones to end up in a place where employees/owners?? let their kids run wild. read more

Disappointed.. Was recommended here to go to Tammy through a friend so I tried it. The pedicure was ok but the massage lasted maybe 2 minutes and then was done. As for the acrylics I asked for pink and white but got clear and white. Not what I wanted. There was also a ridge close to the base of my nail that was left there that looked really funky. She kept telling me how my last set of nails were really cheap. (Mind you I had been going to the same place for 6 years and loved them) and then the price was ridiculous. Plus 5 extra dollars to take off my last set of nails, which wasn't even done with acetone, just popped off with a plastic nail. Um if you had said that it was extra when I called and asked then I could have just taken the things off myself. They were old anyways. I'm from the city so I'm used to quality, and for the price with the rude comments I wasn't impressed. I'm giving it 2 stars because if you pay with cash you get a discount and the salon was clean. read more

I loved my experience at TJ's Nail & Spa! Everyone was very nice and welcoming. I HIGHLY recommend Tammy. I came in asking for a difficult set of nails and she did them perfect! I am 100% satisfied! Favorite nail salon in Ukiah. read more

I have gone to TJ II about a dozen times and seen different people for mainly gel polish manicures. I would not recommend them for this. I have yet to have a good gel manicure here. I was there 2 days ago to give it another try. The lady that helped me was very nice. But looked like I just woke her up. She wasn't clean and used her nails to clean mine. Then she used a brush to smooth the clear gel on the skin on my finger tips. It was the strangest thing! The polish has completely come off of all of my fingers now two days later... For 40 dollars I certainly expect better. I did have a great experience with a man there that did a pink and white though! read more

The man that did my nails did not talk to me whatsoever, although I did not expect a full conversation a few kind words or even a hello would have been nice and expected. Also when he asked me what shape I wanted the nail to be, I got acrylics, I asked him what kind and he said square or coffin. I knew what coffin looked like but did not know what square was. When I asked he said that the COFFIN was circular, which is incorrect. After a while the other lady working there brought up a picture on google, which I expected them to have a picture on hand. I choose the shape I wanted and pointed to the picture. This was my first time going and I did not know the process and he ended up making them square. Also, and the most important, was when he CUT ME!!!!!!! He was shaving down my nail and cut me on two different fingers. He also doused the two OPEN CUTS with nail polish remover and other painful liquids. At the end it was very expensive and I would not recommend going to this specific nail salon. I have not gone to TJ Nail and Spa 1 so I give you no review on that one. read more
