Customer service is absolutely horrible here. I stood in line waiting to pay and went to a lit counter. The cashier just kept walking around behind the counter talking to other cashiers and didn't even acknowledge me. Eventually, he turned off the counter light. Another cashier had to ring me out. Love shopping at tjmaxx but at this location I always get the same cashier lady who harasses me into getting a store credit card. Even after I politely tell her I'm not interested she still hounds me about it and then when I keep saying no she gets an attitude with me. read more

Not my favorite T.J. Maxx. Some departments were very unorganized and there were shopping carts all over the place (everywhere but the cart corral). The manager on duty, who happened to cash me out, was extremely bossy to her employees. I believe this is the same person who, about 10 minutes prior, was yelling at someone near the back of the store, which totally caught me off guard and made me stop what I was doing and look up. It was that loud. Line was 10 people deep from the time I got to the check-out area until I left. The check-outs were open and moving quickly, but opening a 4th register would have been even better. There were boxes waiting to be unloaded in the check-out aisle making it really difficult to move around. Pros: Cashier was friendly to me. Inventory appeared to be moderately stocked and the variety was above-average. Stopped because I was in the area. May or may not be back. read more

Horrible customer service. Manager wouldn't accept a return for an expensive brand of defective shoes worn once. Won't be going back.

A nice little TJ Maxx for the folks at Vernon Hills. The collection is good although it could be better. I especially like the choices in handbags, perfumes, home decoratives, kitchen tools & gadgets. The store itself is well maintained, pretty organized and neatly kept. Such a stark contrast to the adjoining Ross store which is in downright bad condition. Thank goodness! read more

I scored an awesome deal on a Michael KORS winter coat here. And I ended up grabbing a few other items. They had some Vince boots, Sam Edelman, and some other top designers. So the stock was pretty impressive. The store was clean and easy to find your way around. Many times the shoe section seems a mess, but it was very organized here. My only issue was when I went to check out I have the cashier my rewards card. He forgot to scan it. Since I was dropping some cash I wanted my points! So he grabbed another cashier to help him void and then re scan everything. He was super nice about it but the other cashier rolled her eyes a few times and was trying to rush him along. She seemed very frustrated. It's not my fault they had to do it... I'm the customer and I want the points for the $$! Not a fan of the "attitude" I got. read more

This TJ Maxx WINS! My first time here today and it was spacious, clean, and everyone was so nice and so helpful!! Cashiers make small talk and seem really excited to be there, displays are great and the store layout makes sense! Only downside is there is literally no men's clearance. I dropped just under $100 with NO problem (problem for my wallet, though). Low tax rate too! Will be back! read more

I have shopped at this store for years with no problem. I currently purchased a wallet charger. The tag was not attached nor did i have tge receipt. I nicely asked for a credit since it didnt fit my phone. I treated pourly. I was told it was used etc. I looked at the manager who was rude and said used.. She said look there is a ink mark. Probably came that way. Agsin i asked them for a 19.99 credit. I was told no. She made me feel like a criminal. It wasn't used etc. I no longer will shop at this location. As load as possible she stated they have a policy. No tag or receipt no return. They musy have forgot to put that on all my receipts. I suggest u take your business to a friendlier location. read more

I like this TJmaxx...we actually have an affair going on. There are days where I leave and I am very satisfied and there are some other ones that I leave disappointed and heart broken. Its ok. I still come back for more the next day. List of things that I have bought here consists of: suitcases (large and small), hats, glasses, shampoo, parfume, work out clothes, other clothes, bedsheets, nuts, candles, wine glasses, phone cases, ladels, make ups, make up removers, fuzzy socks....list goes on, so much more. The staff is friendly, the place is small, the parking lot is never crowded. I have no problem with this place. I dont like shopping, I do like this place tho because there is nobody around. If you are lucky, you will be able to find alot of brand name stuff for a fraction of the retailer prices. MK jacket for 90 bucks? Do I need it? No. Am I gonna buy it? Yes. This store has a lot of very good things at a low price. But nothing was exciting to buy. This store is cramped, messy, and small. I went to other TJMaxx stores that were very nice like Phoenix Az and Racine Wi. This store has to do better! It's a huge disappointment! read more

Wow ok, I am shocked that the tumbler glasses I bought here and took home to be washed for the first time cracked as I was scrubbing the inside, and it cut my hand very badly and two separate places. Off price retail chains are hit or miss - part of the territory. This location is usually pretty well organized. I usually stick to kitchenware, luggage/purses, homeware. This is a great place to find small gifts/stocking stuffer items. There have been many cute holiday items for less: nice tree skirts, metal pumpkin table centerpiece, wrapping paper, etc. Come with a plan or lots of time/patience and have some fun searching for your next IT piece. read more

I've seen a definite upgrade in this store recently. They got a remodel- the staff is super friendly and helpful. Most people get upset when they can't mark things down more- or if things on clearance are broken and personally think they should be cheaper but- your at an off price retailer! They can't keep cheap prices if they have to mark. things down for the smallest thing. While in line a woman scratch a purse she wanted to buy and then asked for a markdown. They explained the policy - she got mad- and even then they took off a dollar- it's not much but you paying 150 on a 400 dollar purse. If you don't like half priced good quality merchandise go to Ross pay even less and only get to use it once. read more

I usually enjoy TJMaxx, but this has been bothering me. Love their items and prices but one day I was in their and a "manager" Ann or Anna was getting a big kick out of torturing an employee on the phone and then laughing about it with other employees and customers. I guess the girl was sick and called from the hospital and this manager threatened to fire her if she didn't come in. Then family members called and stuff and the whole time this Anna is announcing it to the whole store laughing. How does a person like this become a manager? I went in recently and I guess the girl quit, then they asked her back and then they said she couldn't come back??? All sounds not quite legal to me. I like to shop, but not in this kind of environment. read more

Got a Citizen Eco Drive watch for about half the retail price which was cool. I saw that a cd rom disc was underneath the packaging which the sales associate did not include in the bag. I found out three days later that this cd rom disc was an interactive guide to the watch since it was an elaborate watch. I went back to see if the cd was still there but was thoroughly disappointed to find out that it was no where to be seen. When I spoke to the store manager he told me to look online as if I didn't already try that. This was a gift and I find it a bit rude to tell the recipentant that this expensive watch had a cd with it but he needed to look up the information online on his own. The manager also said that when another watch with a cd came him he would call him that he didn't care about it. I didn't appreciate this comment as it made my purchase seem worthless especially since it was a big ticket purchase item. I understand it could have been a honest mistake I think it is bad customer service that this store manager basically said too bad so sad for me. Also bad customer service since it seemed like someone threw away the disc. Only one employee remembered that this watch came with a cd. No other offer was made to contact the employee who sold me the watch to find out about the disc just that I'd be contacted if another watch with a cd would come in. Never mind that this specific watch had its own features. Irritated and completely disappointed with the lack of customer service for the store. Probably won't be visiting this store location again. read more

yes i was very upset. i bought some kitchen knives and one litterly broke when i was opening the package and the other broke when my daughter was using it. there were four in total. i took them back to the store and the manager or supervior(anna she wouldn't give me her last name) which ever .she is was very rude and ignorant. i was concerned not so much for my refund as i was for other customers that would be buying the same knives. i told her she should send someone and remove the knives from the shelves. i knew there were some back there i had bought them the knives the day before. she completely ignored me . that pissed me off caused that should she did not give a dam if someone got hurt. i was looking for the district managers number to that store. so if someone out there knows it please post. i believe that people in a supervision role should be more professional. that anna person is just giving the store a bad light. really give this visit no stars read more
