So excited and have been looking forward to their opening. I did go in on their grand opening day and it was hectic! Went here on Oct 7, 2025, our cashiers name was Barbara. She was either very high on drugs or coming down off drugs. She was all flustered and clumbsy and seem to get agitated over every single thing. We had some candles , spices, a comforter set, sheet set and clothing. She partially wraps the candles except one and got irritated when I asked that the third one be wrapped also because the spice jar is banging up against it and I didnt want anything to crack. Then I asked to be sure the security tag is removed and she said there is none and then of course it beeps at the door and then she gets upset that we had to go back to her to get it removed. TJ Maxx should really do some drug testing on the workers and havve training in customer service. The interactions with the workers plays a huge part on customers satisfaction as well as determining if we want to go back to that store to deal with rude people. This is always my go to store for a lot of things. Most my of outfits and my kiddos outfits and even decor. Very reasonably priced and much rather go here than the south hill mall that only has things that rip in 2 days or a small item like a shirt that's $100. TJ maxx is definitely the best option if you're trying to save money and they always have such a great selection. Of course some days are better than others and so but usually it's amazing. read more

Went here yesterday waited in line for what felt like forever just to buy one piece of jewelry just for the very rude and unfriendly lady at the jewelry counter to tell me she couldn't check me out at her register and that she'd take me up front and wanted to make me wait in another long line after just waiting my turn to be helped.. I don't get why they even have that register there if they don't even trust the lady to use it. And when I tried to ask her what was going on she just turned her back to me and walked away like how friendly! Wish I could give no stars read more

Honestly I love TJ Maxx stores but this is one of the worse locations. I made it to the (postage stamp sized) parking lot, turned around and went home. The store might be nice, the staff is probably great but the location gave me anxiety. read more

Selection at the Puyallup location is like shopping at the Dollar Store. I have shopped at most of the area locations and realized that the store selection is based on the geographic location and demographic of the area. If you want a better brand quality and overall selection of all items, you will have to drive out of the area. read more

I am a frequent shopper at this location, never had a bad experience until today. I brought back a hair crimper because it burned me at the handle where it certainly should not be getting hot. The cashier was very friendly and said she had to ask the manager as it had been used which is understandable. However the manager was extremely rude and short with me. Said that the policy is they don't take any beauty products back and I was unaware as it is not stated on the receipt anywhere. She rudely pointed to the return policy on the wall which I have never seen before (I don't pay attention to signs with a bunch of verbiage behind a cashier) which she said states returns are subject to restrictions. The policy is understandable, she gave me store credit which I am thankful for but I cannot get over her rudeness. She literally look one look at me and rolled her eyes, again was very short with me, had a terrible attitude and extremely rude. I will not come back to this location if this is the kind of customer service a manager in a retail setting is giving. I feel sorry for the employees who work under her. read more

This was the smallest TJ maxx I have ever been to. It lacks in many ways: selections, sizes, variety, workers and shoppers. Caution: the most frightening Parking spots, entrance and exit. This is such a sad store because the building is brand new but the inside feels very empty. I feel bad because puyallup is missing out on the full TJ maxx experience. Worst customer service that I've experienced. I asked the girl if she would look into price matching a necklace that was a $5 difference than all of the others in the case. She refused before I could finish my sentence. Once I finished my sentence, that they were all lower in the case, she still continued to refuse to talk to a supervisor about the issue. The store is completely customer service handicapped. First of all, no I do not want your stupid debit/credit card. No means no. Stop asking or pressuring. Secondly, you can come down off that high horse, you can come down off that high horse, it is not a privilege to shop in your store... In fact, at times it feels more like the ghetto - with you watching our every move like every customer is a shoplifter. Some of us are good paying people you know. Also, You are paid to assist me- Everything else comes secondary. Maybe Place your energy and helping your customers, rather than finding another employee to pawn them off on. Sorting hangers does not pay the bills - paying customers like I do. Lastly... I have made three trips from home to your store to home again today, Because each time you've been too lazy to explain the "rules" of returning/exchanging items... This is my go to Tj Maxx other than it being the closets to my house being about 15 minutes away the past couple visits I've made, I've been followed and starred at by one of the employees .. I ignore her and continue to shop I check out and let one of the cashiers know how uncomfortable I felt while I was shopping here.. the last time around I was in an aisle and an employee just looks at me for a good minute like shes pretending to look for something .. not even 5 minutes of being in the store I walk myself out.. you feel the energy change ... what is it with these people. seems like Management hasn't looked for nicer open minded employees. read more

The store seems dirty for a new store. Good selection and the prices are very impressive. I can only shop here when I have time to spend looking since it is not always organized. Employees are always very helpful and friendly and even though it is not the cleanest or the most organized, this is one of my favorite places to find a really good deal on clothing, cooking gadgets, baking gadgets or clothes. read more

This is going to be my first review I have ever made but I have never been so angry. I came home to my moms foot all swollen & bloody because some plates that were "packaged" together at this TJ Maxx fell apart & landed/broke on my moms foot. That's not what has made me so mad though, what I am mad about is that some girl named Jodi & her little coworker friend decided that they needed to treat my mom as less than a person.. I plan on going in & speaking to a manager tomorrow. Hopefully they'll know how to actually treat customers right. If not, shit will go down. read more

Went there for the first time just to check it out and possibly get a few things. I was really disappointed with not only the size of the store but how little selection they had. I originally went there to dry to get some shoes for work. But napped they don't have a shoe department for men and even the one for women is pathetic. I would go there to get shirts and stuff here and there but that's about it. read more

YES!!! Omgoodness I have been to many other locations but this one shines above all others!! Holy cow, talk about going above and beyond, I felt like I was shopping in a high end retail store. It was clean organised and All the employees including the manager were so pleasant helpful and amazing!! I will never shop any other location again!! Disappointed with the customer service.. Bought a 3 pack of Calvin Klein briefs and one of the pairs was a completely different fit and lower quality (I realized this after I wore them, so this ruled out a return/exchange). I was hoping to get a refund, or at least grab another pack of briefs, and the manager told me that nothing could be done since they would not be able to send them back to the manufacturer. While at T.J. Maxx in puyallup tonight, the lights in the fitting room shut off completely leaving me in complete darkness. I shopped a full cart and I needed to try on the last few items that I had. I did not realize the store was about to close so I continued to try on my clothes. The fitting room attendant did not express to me that the store was closing and the lights would automatically turn off shortly after the store closed. While taking off the clothes that I was trying on and reaching for my own clothes the light turned off. It was pitch black. I could not see where my clothes where or any of my personal belongings so I was unable get ready to leave the store. I called for a fitting room attended,she explained it was not her fault it was policy and the lights turned off automatically and there was no way for her to turn them on. I then asked;"could you please bring me a flash light so I can find my things". She acted like it was an unreasonable request and she was even unsure if they even had a flash light. After begging her to go ask she went to go find one. I had to stand there in the pitch black until she finally came back and threw the flashlight over the door. I still had a few items to try on so I asked if I could come back tomorrow and they said that was also against there policy and they would have to put everything back. I was extremely dissatisfied with the customer service their and I fear for the safety of there future customers. Someone could really get hurt especially with their unwillingness to help. There needs to be lights until the last customer leaves the building or they need to make sure everyone is out of the fitting room before the lights turn off. I was told the the lights are on a timer and 5 min after 9:30 the lights turn off and they are unable to put them back on. That is really unsafe; and I'm also having a hard time believing that they have do not have a light switch that they could turn on. read more
