Well, I can't figure out if this was due to the supply chain shortage or not enough workers stocking, but a lot of the shelves in the areas I was going for were empty. I also barely saw any employees out on the floor and there were only two people at the registers... I did get a couple potholders but there weren't really any choices, so I just had to settle. We get to the shoe department and there were a few other customers that were being helped. My wife grabbed two shoes that she wanted sizes for, I grabbed one, and the lady in front of us grabbed two. For the other customer, and my wife and I, they didn't have any of the sizes for any of the five pairs of shoes. Statistically speaking, there probably should have been at least one size that they had, but didn't. I thought this was kind of ridiculous. So its safe to say, that when I'm looking for shoes, I probably won't be going to JC Penney's.

His attitude towards me was not very inviting. If you are going to offer such a promotion then management should teach cashiers what to look for so as not to questions those of us that have served. I hope he has some type of knowledge on what Memorial Day is really about and not just a big party day. This would not stop me from going back and I get that there are people who pretend to be Veterans, but I was not one of them and don't care to be treated as such.
