I recently noticed what appeared to be a crack in the drivers side side window. I wanted to get it taken care of - before it started to spread - and became a bigger problem. I checked out TJ Autoglass - they said they could fit me in that day and that they had the replacement window in stock. When I came over - the technician went out to my truck with me to inspect the window in question. After looking at the "crack," he advised it is just a scratch on the glass - and not a crack. He advised that they could replace the window if I wanted - but it was not a safety issue. I needed a very small windshield chip repair. The technician didn't know the name of the material used to "fill" the chip and it appeared to be a drop of glue (maybe) added. It didn't fill the area that was beginning to spread. I'm sure I gave away $69.00 and consider it a lesson learned. I had scheduled a repair with another company through my insurance, they canceled on me 90 minutes in to my five hour window and never called or responded to rescheduling, four attempts to reach them by phone failed when they're automated system kept hanging up on me. This was after waiting two weeks for the appointment and they weren't going to be able to reschedule me for two more weeks!!! So I called my insurance back and they got me connected with TJ's and they had availability for me next day. They called me back a couple hours later to see if they could come today, to which they did! The technician was super friendly, showed up within half an hour and had the repair done quickly! I took my vehicle there, reluctantly, well I was right. The dealership I bought the vehicle from, asked me to drive to Manassas, even if there are plenty of glass shops around, this after I was offered that the glass repair was going to be sent to me. TJ tech drives my vehicle to the back, comes back 3 minutes later saying is fixed, anyone doing glass repair knows how long it takes for the glue to dry. The tech says to me: you still can see it but it will not expand, crappy crappy service, from the attendant to which I said, Im looking for TJ, he comes out and she does not say anything to him. First, I was not given the full price over the phone even though I asked for the estimate and had a full discussion about whether to submit to the insurance company or not based on whether price was more or less my deduction. Secondly, the new windshield had a scratch on the inside and when I turned back around and came back, they told me it wasn't scratched. After about 20 applications of filler, it finally fixed it. Third, I drove off a second time and my rear view mirror fell off the windshield. I was told, " What do you expect? It's not a factory replacement?" After telling the guy I wasn't leaving until he fixed it, he finally did. The way the lady at desk talked to me was completely rude, blaming me the customer, for not listening, even though I could repeat the whole conversation we had. The technician was rude on multiple occasions, even saying he wasn't going to come back out and look at it. He even acted very childish and unprofessional when he said, mockingly "Oooh, you want your pretty, expensive car to be perfect. I bet you paid a lot of money for your pretty car." I had been in touch with TJ for a week about getting a windshield replacement. He offered me the best price in the area and I told him I would be going in the following Monday to get the work done. I called him the morning of to make sure they were available he told me to bring it in and they would take care of me. Little did I know it would take them 2 hours to do the job when on average most companies can get it done in 1 hour. Our son had his front windshield cracked from a high velocity pebble coming home from work a little after this past holidays. We had someone look at it, and much to our dismay, said it could not be repaired, and subsequently needed to be replaced. Went to go pack my car for vacation and found a giant crack across my windshield. It was the Friday before July 4th weekend. I called my insurance who in turn called 4 places. I called 10 or 11 on my own. The earliest appointment available from anyone was Monday... 3 days after I was already supposed to be there!!! This place is top notch. I e-mailed them Monday morning around 8AM and received a response within a couple of hours. They quoted me a very fair price; actually the lowest price from several local companies. I dropped my vehicle off at 4PM, expecting to pick it up the next day since they were scheduled to close at 5:30PM.
