The restaurant is small and probably not the best place for larger parties, but the staff was friendly and helpful throughout the meal. I found myself in Beaverton on a Saturday afternoon, which is rare and usually upsetting. However, Tito's Taquitos has been on my list of places to try for sometime now and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is in a cart located in Breakside Brewery food cart pod with indoor and outdoor seating options. Heads up we had to wait 40 minutes for our food, but perfection takes time and all you need to do is grab a beer to wait. I got the taquitos with citrus pork. The taquitos are filled with potatoes and topped with an optional protein of your choice, pickled onions, radish, a sauce, and queso fresco. The taquitos were fried to perfection and the accompaniments made for the perfect bite. I can't wait to go back, one of the better meals I have had in recent memory. I also sampled the mushroom, marinated beef, and citrus pork racos as well and they were each delectable. The salsas are flavorful and corn tortillas had the perfect texture. I'm from LA so I am always trying to find good tacos. However, I have one rule for Mexican food: you have to try what's in their name, because it's what they're famous for, so I got the taquitos. They were quite weird. The corn tortillas and crispy shell were the best part. I don't know why they don't give you the option to fill the taquitos with the meat instead. The potatoes didn't have any flavor and their hot sauce just tasted hot and not good, so they couldn't be saved. The only thing saving this meal was the crispy shell. I got the birria and you can see in pictures that their birria doesn't look like other birrias, doesn't taste like it either. The menu says it comes with cilantro but I got some microgreens or something on mine. I'm used to white onions and cilantro on my tacos, the onions were pickled red onions, which is certainly different. I won't be coming back to try the tacos. I didn't get a drink but the bar looked nice. I will give them that. Service was okay, I ordered takeout because I arrived about 30 minutes before they closed. I would strongly recommend their brownie with vanilla whipped cream and seasonal fruit. They are not the cheapest for the size, but they use quality ingredients. The Taquitos were super fresh and crispy, without being soggy or greasy, and the garbanzos al pastor an awesome vegetarian take on the Mexican classic. The taquitos were not my favorite. I had really high expectations and maybe that effected how I expected the taquitos to taste. I thought they were pretty average. Portland in general does not serve the best Mexican food and the trend continues. The fish taco on the other hand was amazing. I really enjoyed that. The fish was very crispy and the tortilla fresh. If I ever went again I would get the fish tacos. The taquitos weren't worth the hype in my opinion. Additionally, I will add that the line moves pretty slow. One of the awesome tacos in Portland I have eaten so far. They used to be in breakside brewery pods and now have shifted to this new place with an extensive menu. Their tacos are out of this world with hand made fluffy corn tortillas and very tasty toppings. They have vegan and vegetarian options too. I had their potato stuifed taquitis with shredded chicken on the top. It was too good. I also tried their carnitas taco, and I could not stop at one and ordered another one. They have started their chicken wings pod at the breakside brewery called Alitas. Which you must try too. My wife ordered their garbanzo taco and she really liked the new taste and I would try it next time. This place is a must visit if you are looking for an authentic Mexican cuisine. I am a fan of their both restaurants and I will be a frequent customer. Also, from April 1st they will start their licence to start the full bar for cocktails and beers. This taquito truck is legit!! We had a braised beef taco, potato taquitos with avocado creme topping, a shredded chicken taquito, fresh agua Fresca, the brownie and 3 leches cake desserts. All of it is supreme! They look like they came from a gourmet kitchen, all the ingredients are fresh and flavorful. These tortillas- I don't even know what to say, they are incredible!!
