I contracted with Granite Stoneworks & CabinetWorks to install countertops and backsplashes, and…read morethe results were unacceptable. The bottom edge of one backsplash was cut crooked, and the caulking was messy--uneven, poorly applied, and visually distracting. I've already removed and redone the caulk on the makeup counter. I contacted the company about the issue, and they did come out to inspect it. They acknowledged the problem and said they would follow up. That was over two months ago. Since then, I've reached out multiple times--by phone and email--and have received no response. No update, no repair, no accountability. For a project that should have added value and beauty to my home, I'm left with a flawed installation and zero customer service. I expected better craftsmanship and professionalism. At this point, I wouldn't recommend this company to others.

I was ghosted without an apology on our first appointment, and when the installer was late on the first day, I was sworn at by the owner for "micromanaging". I could write pages on the hell they put us through (we purchased counters and cabinets), but I will save the trouble and just beg that if you don't want a mountain of frustration and regret, run from this company.

Very impressed!!…read more Phil of the Remodel Shop did a super job on building our home. To start off we got into a snag regarding the zoning of our lot. Phil went out of his way to resolve this problem, which saved us the stress of either doing it ourselves or finding another lot. He gave us some great ideas that saved us money without sacrificing quality. The workmanship of Phil and subcontractors were super. They were easy to communicate with and very courteous. Our home was completed on time as scheduled. Really impressed when we saw the completed job. Upon finishing the job our house was ready to move in. No litter left behind.

The work him and his flunky did was very low quality. Phil is a con artist and a scam. The people he used for subs were a joke. He cut corners every way he could. Within 4 years almost everything had to be re done. I find out on CCAP that he had been in my house 16 times before and got sued every time. Lots of other lawsuits against him. Look it up for yourself. All these court cases are before I bought the house. When he came here he acted like he didn't know where anything was. Asked me where the bathroom was and he already knew! What a con man and a pice of shit!!!

We had DeLeers come out to look at a small remodeling project. At the appointment, we discussed…read morebudget and ballpark estimates, and Brian felt confident we'd land roughly in the $20k range. He used phrases like "on the high side" and I can't imagine it being more than that," and made us feel assured that our budgeting was appropriate. Given that, we agreed to a deposit of $250 for him to go ahead with a formal quote, per company policy. When the proposal came back, it was $45K, which is more than double what we had discussed. While I understand that quality work and materials are costly, I don't understand how his verbal estimates were so grossly inaccurate, especially when he said he's been working there for 18 years. While I understand the deposit was intended to cover his time in gathering the estimates, and that he "doesn't work for free," a large part of his job is properly estimating potential costs for potential clients, and he did not do that. We agreed to the $250 deposit based on incredibly inaccurate numbers, and when I requested our deposit back, we were denied (twice.) While I don't think it was his intention to be deceptive, we felt swindled out of $250. I was very disappointed that they weren't willing to refund us.

After too many frustrating experiences, I am so glad that a friend recommended Van's when I needed replacement windows in 2009, and I was so happy with that experience I hired them again in 2013 for siding. Here's the difference between Van's and pretty much everybody else I've dealt with: they provide customized professional work for less than what the amateurish one-size-fits-all companies charge. Not allowed to name competitors, but in windows and siding you know the companies I mean: big names, lots of advertising and phony discounts (that is, jack the price up so they can give you 20% off) mostly job the work out to fly-by-night or untrained subcontractors. Van's pays great attention to detail and like I said, customizes the job. Maybe that customization isn't so important on a 10-year-old house, but is sure is on a 60-year-old one. Every one of my windows was a slightly different size, and needed finesse to make them look like originals. And the siding job required similar skill. I can't recommend them highly enough - and I"ll never use anybody else!

The employees who put our window put dents in our aluminum siding which was impossible to find to match since the aluminum siding was at least 20 years old. They actually thought it was ok until I showed the salesman. It wasn't being picky it was unbelievable I then actually watched them as they worked and inspected their work. I had them do things over because of their sloppiness .I guess dents in new trim are acceptable. After they left, I found more damage(more dents, bent screen) The sloppiest workmanship ever. I would definitely steer clear if I was having work done or if building a new home. The salesman was ok but it must have been frustrating for him. It definitely was a nightmare. Please take my advice, there are a lot of businesses out there who provide good workmanship.

We provided the panel from the old dishwasher for the purpose of color matching to our existing cabinetry. It took over 2 months for the dishwasher panel to be completed and was no where near the color to match our existing cabinetry. So they promised to " fix it". Well the improved panel was definitely darker but still not a match. Somehow they lost the "old" panel that was to be used for color matching purposes and obviously didn't return to us. Despite my misgivings about the color, they went ahead and installed it. After they left, we noticed they made a mistake with the install and we called within a half hour of their departure. They never called back. Luckily, our handyman was able to fix that mistake. They were unprofessional and definitely not customer focused. I would not recommend them.

They answered our questions and were very responsive. Their service and communication was great. The floor system looks really nice - we love it and we've gotten a lot of compliments on it. Some perks about this type of flooring: (1) The stairs have a great no-slip texture. (2) It looks much better than a plain epoxy or paint finish and easily as nice as the carpet we had previously. (3) The flake flooring in our basement is much warmer than I expected; certainly warmer than the ceramic tile we have in the bathroom. (4) It's easy to take care of and the pattern in the flake doesn't show dust/dirt easily. (5) We quoted new carpet for other bedrooms in our house and that confirmed the pricing on the flake flooring system is reasonable, especially considering the durability of this flooring vs. carpet. We're very happy with the flooring and our experience with A & B was very positive.
