We live in an old farmhouse with a basement that's not exactly friendly. We decided to go with Sure-Dry to spruce it up a bit and make sure everything stays dry. So far they've been great for us. The most recent example was today. I had spent the entire morning trying to get our sump pump to work, and had tried everything to thaw the pipes. I had come to the conclusion that maybe it was the pump itself that was having issues, so I decided to give them a call. The person I spoke with was very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional, and had someone sent out same day to take a look. I believe his name was John and he was excellent. Super friendly and knew his stuff for sure. In the end it did turn out to simply be frozen pipes, but John took care of it, and not to mention had to work outside on the coldest day we've had in a long time. Since 2019 when Sure Dry installed the final trough and sup pump our basement has been dry. Not one drop of water. Since 2018 when the final brace was installed. Each annual inspection, bolt tightening, has shown the walls have not moved or bowed any further. We purchased the air purifier and dehumidifying systems a year ago and have seen improvement in health and home's air quality and odor. Illnesses are shorter in duration and do not hit everyone in the house. This is a cancer survivor's home where illnesses can take a person down for months. I am saddened that I have to write this post about a company that prides themselves with customer service. Last spring I had a salesman from Sure-Dry come out to see if they could pitch the 16x19' slab on our back patio so that rain water would run away from the house instead of towards it and the foundation. Our house was built in 2004, so the concrete is near perfect in shape and just settled 2" on the side that faces the house. We called two other mudjacking companies and were told it can't be done because of the two bigger steps poured when the slab was put in. The Sure-Dry salesman said it would be no problem because their polyfoam lifts more than mudjacking and had us watch videos on how easily it could be done. We were very impressed and could not wait to have it done next spring. I stated multiple times that I was told it can't be done and my ONLY concern was to have it pitched so water runs away and he responded this product will definitely do just that. We also wanted the seams sealed with their Nexus Pro sealer. Next spring rolls around and Sure-Dry calls to say they are coming to perform the work. No one tells us that the guy we were working with no longer works with the company until we tried to get a hold of him and couldn't. So they arrived and tried lifting the slab and 4 hrs later they only were able to get 1/2" of lift out of the concrete and called saying that rain water will no longer run towards the house and it's now pitched away like we wanted. So I came home and used my level and just sat there as the bubble shot to the side towards the house visually telling me they did nothing. So I got out some water and spilled it and watched it puddle by the house. They also forgot to fill holes which I called the foreman and he was able to return to fill them. Then we called them back to ask what they will be doing next to get the concrete pitched away like we agreed on. They seemed surprised that we were not happy and said the concrete was lifted to its maximum recovery height. The height wasn't the issue. I wanted the slab pitched so rain water wouldn't run towards the house. Finally after many phone calls they did come out and tried to lift the concrete once again as they said there was a little more wiggle room. So once again I took off work and sat there 5hrs watching the concrete raise 0". So the polite foreman and his crew said the manager Austin would call me back. The next day Austin calls and says there is nothing more they can do and throws the amount owed at my face explaining that I signed the contract and have to pay. He said the company could not do anything else and then sent us the bill. They did not take any money off the bill. So I asked why we still had to pay if they did not fix the problem, they said in the contract it states this, "Contractor does not represent that PolyLEVEL® will lift the Customer's slab to meet any criteria of levelness, but instead that it will lift the slab as much as practical." meaning we still had to pay even if the concrete doesn't move. What a joke. After another couple calls and having the manager and director come out they didn't want to meet me at least in the middle but instead tried to sell me more work on the front driveway. They couldn't lose any more money because of the amount of product they had to use... Why is this my problem?? If I don't get a job done at my work regardless of money/time/product used I dont get paid so why would I pay? Again a couple more back and forth calls they took only $350 off our $2000 bill. So now we are still left with the problem we started with and the $1650 bill. We tried to get a hold of the owner Doug Newhouse multiple times and he never called us back. I am saddened to say that this company has the worst customer service I have ever worked with. If I would've known they would not do the work intended, I would have just removed the concrete myself. 5 stars. Before contacting Sure-Dry I had water in the basement every time it rained. The estimator was amazing and professional. Had an internal drainage system and new sump pump installed and couldn't be happier. The crew left the space just as clean as they found it and haven't had a drop of water in the basement in over a year since install. Would recommend this company 10x over to anyone in the Fox Valley with water issues. read more

The sales rep was very professional and nice as well as the crew who did the job. However, for the cost of over $2,000 to apply the clear concrete sealant to my garage it turned very white and hazy when it dried. There were puddles of sealer left when the crew was finished and I thought a good coat is better but I believe it was way over applied. I was told it would dry clear and even after 36 hours it was still hazy and very white. So I called the company and left messages and also emailed the company. Never got a response or anything. Very poor customer service after the project was done. I spent about 9 hours sweeping and mopping my garage on a weekend. One reason why I wanted to high professionals was to avoid labor and time on my end but in the end I paid a lot of money and it still looks slightly hazy after several weeks. Sure-Dry installed an egress window in our basement. They installed a different brand than promised. I discovered this a few days after the installation and also realized the crew hadn't left any warranty information on the window. Very fishy. The rep claimed it was an oversight and offered to replace the window with the one promised. I didn't want them back (also did a poor job protecting the lawn and with clean-up), so I declined. They then offered a $100 discount (2.5%). Before I could call to discuss, they charged the balance to the credit card number I had given for the deposit. This was an unauthorized charge. However, rather than dealing with them any longer I just dropped it. Avoid Sure-Dry. Questionable business practices and below expectations (given their higher prices) on quality and clean-up. read more

In the middle of July we hired Sure Dry Basements to install metal plates in our basement to prevent our walls from moving. The first sign that we were not going to be happy was the way they slapped the concrete onto the holes that they needed to cut in my driveway. My husband called them and asked that it be replaced or redone. As requested, we sent pictures to John Watermolen. And we waited...no response. After a very hard rain I went downstairs and discovered my carpet in the basement was so saturated with water, when I stepped on it, the water bubbled up. We immediately called Sure Dry; until I had the plates put in, I never had water in my basement. A technician came out and informed us that there was not enough wax around the rod leading from outside to my basement walls. He tore up the corner of carpet and told us to put a fan on it and dry it out. The carpet dried, but I was left with a huge mud/clay stain on my off-white carpet. We again called, this time contacting Cory Metcher. He sent out another person who agreed that there was not enough wax around the rods. Then we made more phone calls to get someone over to clean our carpet....it took over a week to get someone to agree to that. The carpet cleaning technicians were very competent but warned us that the carpet probably would not come clean due to the mud...they were right. So then my husband contacted Cory, Doug Newhouse, the owner of the company, and Jamie to request that we get compensated for new carpet. After we finally got a phone call back, we were informed the cost to replace the carpet for our 15 X 20 family room would be about $600 (probably very cheap carpet) but due to the fact our carpet was 8 years old, they would only give us half of the money. It took another 2 weeks to get the $300 check! Not once did Doug call us back. The buck was passed on to others. This was the worst $8000 ever spent! I sure hope I don't have any issues in the next 20 years! read more
