Do not take your car to these people. Spent $150 to figure out why the engine light went on. The computer shows that nothing is wrong. It misfired and needs a reset. They refused to give us the paperwork showing what they did. Refused to reset the error code. They had my car for an hour and a half and did nothing. I should at least get my paperwork when I've spent $150 to have an error code investigated. How is this business still functioning? Reporting to the BBB. I think my $150 entitles me to the paperwork regarding the work done on my car. Even the dealership provides a detailed account of the work done - that's how they show that they didn't just steal your $$. read more

An establishment filled with nothing but liars and con men!!!!! I can not speak of other locations but this one located on Long is a complete sham!!!! Save your money and yourself the stress. I took my car to them for a new battery and gladly paid $250 because I thought they were respectable and honest. A week later my car would not start, I had the car towed back and was told the battery died because I left my car charger in and they would replace it since it was under warranty but now I had a busted brake line and three more needed replacing totaling $957.00 I reluctantly paid the $957.00 because I was not wanting to chance driving without brakes. I picked my car up Monday September 18th and did not drive my car again til Thursday September 21st only for it to cut off on me while driving on the freeway. I had the car towed back to this location to get a call a week later stating it would be $1,200.00 to fix my fuel sender and gas tank. My gas tank is not leaking or damaged and I have a brand new fuel sender purchased in November of 2022. I informed them I would not get the car serviced by them anymore, I have just received my car off the tow truck and my front driver tire is completely flat and off the rim when I sent it there full aired and on the rim. I brought my 2013 Toyota Corolla in on Thursday August 13th. I had previously bought the "lifetime" alignment and have free tire rotation. My appointment was set for 12pm. I arrived with my vehicle at 11:40ish. I told the clerk that I would be waiting for my vehicle in the area. (because of COVID the indoor waiting area is not open, that's alright, not a big deal) I walked to a nearby breakfast eatery. An hour after dropping off my vehicle I get a call saying that I need new tires and that one of my tires actually has a nail. This is EXACTLY almost word for word what they told me last year (June 2019) when they convinced me to buy new tires. I said, how is it possible that I need new tires when 1) my tires are barely a year old and 2) because of COVID I have driven less than 10K miles in a year. Not to mention, last year when I purchased my tires, I paid EXTRA so that my tires would have some sort of "Warranty" in case they were damaged or needed service. They said, "no" it only gives you a discount when you buy new tires and that if I wanted two new tires it would be about $107 for each. I said, "I will NOT be buying new tires, I just want my alignment & tire rotation." They said, "okay, it will be another 45 minutes." I walked back and was there by 1:30pm. They then inform me that they were unable to do my alignment because I need new screws or something for the back of my tires which "oh by the way" is about $400+ with labor and parts. So overall, they wanted me to spend a little under $800 in order to get my FREE TIRE ROTATION & LIFETIME ALIGNMENT for which I had previously already paid an extra $200 and for which I had paid EXTRA for the tires last year when I purchased them. I missed my morning shift at work, wasted 2 hours of my morning/afternoon and money in the past for all these "warranties" and in the end left extremely disappointed because there was literally NOTHING DONE TO MY CAR. Literally no apologies, no "I'm sorry for wasting your time and money" NOTHING. I have been a customer of this location for at least 3 years now, but I will definitely be looking for another place because these people just want to take your money & DO NOT DELIVER ON THEIR SERVICE. read more

I needed new tires for my car, the ones I wanted they did not have in stock. But the clerk/manager? called the OP location and they had 4 of what I wanted. They got my car in and installed them. It took approximately 1.5 hours to install them. They did replace valve stem caps which I purchased at Auto Zone several months ago because they were for nitrogen, and Tires Plus doesn't use nitrogen so they put new caps on. I got the coupon honored and a discount on top of that. The tires are doing excellent, they're quiet compared to the old ones which were probably original (43k+ on the car). This is my 3rd set of tires from Tires Plus, and won't be my last. I cannot believe all the negative reviews I've read (everyone has opinions). I've been to Boulevard Tire and Shore Tire in the past and Tires Plus is hands down way ahead of them in customer service. I will recommend them over any other tire store. I went into Tires Plus a couple weeks ago with a slow leak in my tire and asked how long it would take. I was told I'd be next customer. After 20 minutes my truck was still in the parking lot so I looked in the shop. not joking, I couldn't find 1 single mechanic . Don't know if it was break time or what. Finally pulled the tire off and it literally sat off the truck for 13 minutes. Nobody came in and said anything until I asked the service desk. They finally told me that the nail, even though on the tread of the tire couldn't be fixed! She then proceeded to immediately look up tire prices. I said no, I'm not buying new tires....put the tire back on and I'll go to a reputable tire store. I then took it to Mr Tires on Hickman Mills Drive. They got me in immediately and fixed the tire. It's been 2 weeks and no more issues with warning lights for low pressure. Save your hard earned dollars!!!! read more

My rear passenger side tire kept losing pressure so I took it in. Walking in I saw an upset customer complaining about how expensive their oil change was. They had used all synthetic oil without asking, and like any normal response, the customer was pretty upset. It was pretty sad to witness and was easy to feel for the patron but the staff member did not seem to care. When it was my turn, the process was fairly quick in regards of checking in. My personal experience was okay. I had to walk to the shop from my office and was rather disappointed they don't offer water. Had I not had to go to work and keep myself distracted, the wait time would have been extremely long. On top of the upset customer in front of me, I'd say my experience was average. read more

Went in for a simple tire rotation, was given a $1000 estimate for rotors brakes and calipers. Told them I'd think about and went to a different mechanic for a second opinion, surprise-surprise.... rotors brakes and calipers were just fine. NOTHING needed replaced. Be CAREFUL with this place. They aren't service-minded. They're SALES minded. And yes... they tried to tack on the awful credit card, "promo" discounts and of course, new tires. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THE CARD!!!! In fact just go somewhere else. I took my car in to get a tire patched, which they were able to get to and that was fine. The guy (I think it was Joel or something like that) offered their credit card and when I declined he continued on saying he would give me a free oil change if I signed up today so I gave in. I told him my address AND gave him my drivers license that has my address on it, yet he still took the lazy way out and left an old address in the system from years ago. I had no way of knowing he did this, I didn't see the computer screen. I asked him if I could go ahead and pay the balance that day, he said I had to wait for the bill and pay it then. Sounds easy enough, had he done his job. Over a month later I get a call from a collector saying I am delinquent on this account- I am not at all familiar with this as I've never had a late payment, but upon further checking it was found the bill(s) were sent to my old address and I didn't pay it because I never got it. It took far longer than it should have to settle, for whatever reason the company they use for their credit card had a hard time understanding things like "they entered the wrong address" and "I never got a bill", they were too busy blaming me for the oversight. They did an "investigation" and found it was no fault of mine, so they waived late fees and assured me this was not being reported to credit bureaus.... Low and behold they DID report it, dropping my score 75 points!! Now I get to file an appeal so it doesn't sit on my report for 7 years, all because of the lazy clerk. If I could give a negative score I would and then subtract from that. I brought in my car for a low tire to be fixed. I left my car there as I was in no hurry. The next day I was called and told it was ready and they patched the tire but I had a battery needing replacement and an air filter. I thought this was quite odd as I just had the car in at the dealership for standard service and we all know how everyone wants to upsell anything wrong with a car. The dealership gave my car a very clean bill of health- including the battery. I came into pay and again the man attempts to tell me I need a new battery and filter and again I decline. I pay and go out to my car only to find my car will not start. Internal lights are working but the clicking tells me I need a jump. I get a bit suspicious how this is all going down. I go back in and let him know I need a jump and he immediately LAUGHS and says he told me I needed a new battery. I admittedly lose my cool and ask for a jump. He saunters out and says their battery jumper is broken. I said, "Really, I walked here to pick up my car and you and no other mechanic have jumper cables?" My mind was like 'what kind of employees don't have jumper cables that work at Tires Plus' and he is telling me in the entire shop there is NO WAY to help me get my car started. He replies, 'This isn't our fault.' I walked home and found a friend to come get me and take me back over to jump my car. What kind of shop is so lacking in customer service to help someone that dropped their car off? Very very unprofessional how they run this business and their total lack of customer-centric employees. I am pretty sure they left a light on in my car because I highly doubt my battery would lose complete power after getting a clean bill of health from the dealership's service check (and they did check the battery). 3 stars falls to 1 now. A progressive decrease in review ratings in not what I had hoped for when I started doing business with this Tires Plus location. I came back to get an oil change and tire rotation. It took almost an hour for an oil change. They didn't do the tire rotation, so at check out time I had to ask them to bring it back in and rotate the tires. A pain in the ass and a time eater, but nothing to get too worked up about. So what's my beef? I hate it when people are full of crap. All 4 of my tires are wearing evenly and have 60% tread left on them? That's AMAZING! I just replaced both tires on the left side of my car due to vandalism. In retrospect I should have brought the receipts in and called them out. I'm mostly disappointed that a simple service took over and hour. 3 guys stood around my car and were chewing the fat while they were completely Christmas treeing the inspection form. I'm certain that my fluids never got checked nor did they check the headlights or blinkers. I sat at a table where I could see my car through a glass door the entire time they were working on my car. I guess I am somewhat to blame here. It's hard for me to pass up a good deal. A synthetic blend oil change and tire rotation for $28 total is hard to pass up. I for one live hard by the motto of "if it seems to good to be true, it probably is". The value is only good if they do the specified work and operate with honesty and integrity. At this point I give up. Screw Tires Plus and their bullshit artists. I'd rather pay the dealer to do reputable work. The extra money is worth the peace of mind. These are the kind of clowns that will forget to put the oil cap back on your car or won't seal the filter properly, because they are too busy socializing with each other and fudging the inspection sheet. Good bye for good, Tires Plus. TRUST IS EVERYTHING WHEN IT COMES TO THE SAFETY AND OPERATION OF A VEHICLE. The people here remind me of how businesses used to be, they go above and beyond to take care of their customers. It was 6:45 p.m. when I walked into the store, with a closing time of 7. The manager Brian Jones asked what they could for me. I needed a tire replaced, but said I could come back the next morning when they opened. Brian had me roll in the bad tire, we found a replacement and then he said, "hold on" as he walked into the shop. He was asking the technician if he could replace my tire that night and it was closing time at that point. Brian came back and said they would take care of me now and not to worry. 30 minutes later I was on my way with a new tire. I'm old enough to know this is not the norm with a lot of businesses and they went out of their way to help a customer. I'm going back there and hope anyone who reads this will too. read more

Today my left front tire blew out...was able to get off the road into a parking lot. It was 4:30pm. I called Tires Plus roadside assistance and the customer service gentleman tried his hardest to find a tow for me and the earliest was going to be 90 minutes. I then called this Tires Plus and spoke with Julien, he stated they would get it taken care of. My tow was there in just under an hour and got to the store. Julien and Dylan took great care of me and had me on the road in no time. I always have great care at Tires Plus!! read more

I have lifetime alignment with Tires Plus (it's a great deal at around $200, especially for someone that drives over curbs too often..). I like that they are open on weekends and it's usually easy to get an appointment and the work is completed in a timely fashion. The employee who was working the desk was very friendly and engaged me in conversation while I was waiting, which made the wait more enjoyable. read more

Went in to get my sisters oil changed had an appointment at 3 pm and they didn't get it in until around 3:30. Then they told me they were not offering the standard oil change but didn't give me a reason as to why they weren't. I get my bill and it's $72 compared to $40 something. I left and looked at the receipt and it said i need a new battery but no one said anything to me when I was leaving?? The man I was speaking with was nice but didn't say anything about my car battery, what oil they were using, or how long it would take. Very disappointed. read more

After 2 different appointment issues, when I had an appointment and was told on arrival they did not show it in their system and that I did not show up in their records. I was on a tight schedule today and could not change my plans. I do not know how many hundreds of dollars I have spent at this store, but I am done. If it was possible to give them 0 stars, that's what I would've gone with. I had a blow-out on my way home from work and was visibly upset when I walked in there. I only had the donut on my car and needed a new tire stat. They guy at the front desk was very rude and basically told me to go elsewhere because they were closing soon. I understand if you have clients backed up, but this was an emergency and I KNOW how long it takes to put on a new tire. If I'd had a better jack, I would've just bought one and put it on myself in the parking lot in 10 minutes. But they refused to help out a customer in need. I am so disappointed in this place. I brought my car in to patch 1 tire. Told it was an hour to wait, fine I get it I am a walk in. Then I'm told I need it replaced, cool whatever I can do that. They have a tire in the store no problem. Just kidding they don't they have to call another store it'll be just 30 minutes get delivered. Over an hour later it is still not here. When it is finally here the guy waits 30 more minutes before even acknowledge the guy who brought the tire from another store. I have never seen or experienced such terrible customer service. I told him if it wasn't possible on my timeframe let me know and I'll do it later only to be assured it could be done. Going on 2.5 hrs and it's not done. Great service, on short notice. Just needed 4 new tires. Called at 8:30am on a Sun morning to see if they could get me in. Was told by Scott that they were full with appointments for the day, but if I could drop it off, they would squeeze it in somewhere before they closed at 5pm. Dropped off at 9am. Received a call at 10:05am letting me know it was done. Granted, it was only tires, with no alignment or other service requested, but still impressive. Thank you! read more

A few weeks ago, I was preparing to take a trip to the west coast and I noticed my tires were pretty worn and the last thing I wanted was to wind up with a flat on a long trip. I was on my way through Shawnee before departing on my trip, and my dad has gone to this location to service his car for a long time, so I called them first. A man named Nate answered the phone and I explained my situation to him. In my mind, if I heard a customer say, "I'm going on a long trip..." my first instinct would be to offer them the services they need at a reasonable cost -- they obviously have enough expenses to worry about, right? Instead, when I told Nate I was going on a long trip, it must have signaled dollar signs to him -- why not try to gouge someone who wants to make sure their car doesn't break down on their road trip? Of course the first tires Nate quoted me were also the most expensive. He talked about the "fuel saver" quality of the tires, even though I told him I drive a Prius. In the end, I wound up going with those tires because I've always gone for cheap tires and I wanted some that should last longer. So, job well done Nate, you up-sold a customer who wasn't even planning on getting new tires when he woke up that day. That was $464 that literally fell into the lap of Tires Plus. But that wasn't enough. Nate and Tires Plus got greedy. A few hours later, I get a call from Nate. He gives the good news that the new tires have been installed and are good to go. But of course there HAD to be bad news. He started with the small stuff, recommend changing the air filters, yada yada yada, then he drops the hammer -- my rear struts are "blown." But his guys can replace them for like $600 (and he can throw in a $50 discount!). Fortunately, my gut (and my bank account) told me to get a second opinion. When I got to the West Coast, I looked up a highly-regarded mechanic and stopped in to see what he thought of my struts. He looked over my car, drove it around, came back and handed me the keys. Said there was nothing he could see or feel when driving it to make him think there was anything wrong with my struts. So there you have it. If you have something on your car that you KNOW needs to be done, Tires Plus can probably do it, and might even throw in a discount. But don't believe a word Nate or anyone there says when they recommend additional maintenance on your car. Nate took a gamble that I would take him at his word and drop another $600 and NEVER know I'd been taken advantage of. Well, I'm hoping by posting this Nate's gamble backfires to some degree. If anyone reads this review and decides to take their business elsewhere, then mission accomplished. It never ceases to amaze me how these repair shops throw away the chance at gaining a life-long customer by trying to screw them over right from the get-go. read more

Great business. Great location. The entire staff, from manager Jamison down, is friendly and professional. Always willing to go the extra mile for customers. We had our oil changed and tires rotated right before vacation. We noticed shortly thereafter that there was a slight shake in the front end. We called them on a very busy weekend day and told them we were leaving for vacation the next morning. They got us in that day, balanced the tires, and it was smooth sailing after that. Went in for 2 new tires. Ended up getting an alignment and new brake pads and rotors. Which was fine. With an appointment, it took almost 4 hours. Which was also fine, but one of the tires blew out the next day while driving around town, nothing crazy. They did honor the warranty and we had an appointment, so my husband got an alignment and 4 new tires 4 days later. It took 3 and a half hours. They quoted him an hour and a half. My college aged daughter heard a clunk while she was home driving over winter break. She stopped at tires plus (the nearest "mechanic") worried about damaging her car further. She was offered a free brake inspection, during which the rear right bearing was discovered to be bad. She was told they could fix it for her and they wouldn't charge labor. When my daughter told me the price, I thought it seemed high for the exterior of a drum brake with no labor, so called Advance Auto Parts on the way there... $46 complete (exterior, bearing, seal). When I arrived, I looked at the part (Had a damaged seal.The bearings themselves were out by the lift, so couldn't see state before removed). When I asked about the part cost, the guy said, "That's how much they are, let me show you." He showed me the screen that showed the part at $103 from ADVANCE AUTO!!! When I told him I, a regular consumer, could get the part for $46 from Advance and knew that what he was showing me was not their cost, but marked up price and asked for some justification of the difference, the answer I ultimately got was "we have to keep the lights on and pay the tech". Wait a minute... if the tech isn't being paid for labor, what are they being paid for? I did get asked "So, do you not want us to do it?" I'm already not trusting these guys... there's no way I'm having them reassemble the part and driving on it. Had I thought they could put it back together so it was safe, I absolutely would have driven it away. So... long story short, maybe the car needed the whole assembly we got. Maybe it just needed a $10 seal. I have no way to know that for sure. I do , however, know a couple of things with certainty. First, we paid $103 for a $46 part and that the guy behind the counter would have been perfectly content to let me believe that was their real cost for the part. Second, I know without question is that their sales practices are dishonest. They are designed to provide a sense of fairness and comfort to unsuspecting consumers, making them think they are getting taken care of, when in fact, they are getting the shaft. This seems to be a pretty clear example of an unethical business that preys on people who don't understand what's going on with their cars. And to be clear, I don't care about the $60. I get that these businesses have some mark-up associated with getting parts... ordering, pick up (if they aren't delivered), etc. and I get that they have to be profitable to stay afloat. I care very much that they aren't honest. I won't be back. read more
