I had been a Tires Plus loyal customer for 10+ years, but am no more. They constantly try to sell me repairs that I don't need (cooborated by an independent garage I used as a second opinion). They performed a rear brake overhaul and less than two years later the still under warranty right-rear calipers failed. I brought it in and they replaced the wrong caliper. I brought my car to no less than three Tires Plus locations; not one of them would fix the correct caliper. I am having to pay out-of-pocked at another garage for a still under warranty part. This is unacceptable business practice. Calling corporate is no help, as the company seems to be rotten from top to bottom. This is one story; I have many more like it; I stayed too long with them. read more

I must have run over a nail because my tire was leaking fast, and I made it to this place. They convinced me to spring for four new tires. This was not so much a mistake in that I didn't need the tires -- it was a mistake because these guys are incompetent! As soon as I left, I noticed a noise. I brought it back several weeks later thinking that it had to "settle", and they convinced me that it was because I hit a curb. (In fact, I hit the curb after the noise.) So they got another $73 out of me. This brings it to about $1200 or $1300. It's still making the noise, so I take it to another mechanic who tells me that they bent the disc rotor. He also says they'll never admit to it. I take it back to Tires Plus and sure enough, he denies that he bent the rotor. He says, "Bring it back, we'll take a look at it." I would have to be a proper idiot to bring my car back here. So $1300 or so, and I have new tires and a noise. I think it's lowered my miles per gallon also. You know, these corporate chains stake nothing on their reputation and you're better off going to Craig's on New Haven / 192 or Buz's Automotive on Aurora and Wickham. I was traveling northbound on I-95 with my wife and youngest child, and still two and a half hours from our destination, when the tread on our front passenger-side tire shredded, the other three weren't in the best shape. I had my wife call to see if they could get us in to replace the tire and they told us to stop by and they would get us on the road as quickly as they could. We arrived and I walked in, and they got our car right up on the lift and an hour later we were on the road, four new tires and a better sense of confidence In a safe trip. Rude customer service. They try to sell you on services you don't need, but you could get them for way cheaper at other places if you really need them. I was trying to get a better understanding for why this one employee was trying to sell me this service, but he started getting frustrated as I asked more questions. I guess when he realized he wasn't getting commission from me he felt like he was wasting his time. Otherwise, I'm not sure why he was acting that way. Went somewhere else tell me the hose is fine. Waited 2 hours nothing was done all I wanted was hose changed out. Man, seems like people don't like to change it. Stay away from this store! Went in for oil change and tire rotation and after being told vehicle was ready by the manager I went to pick it up. I had marked the front drivers tire and rear drivers tire with "DF" and "DR" with a red mark to see if they had done their job. THEY DID NOT! I confronted the mechanic about and he told me that the manager hadn't told him to do it (even though it was clearly written on the work order). If I hadn't marked the wheels, they would have gotten away with their lie, I no longer trust Tires Plus with my vehicles! Goodbye $$$ read more

I waited while they put the new tires on and the waiting area was comfortable enough. Luckily, I didn't have to wait long, they had me out of there in a very short amount of time! This place does ok work and pricing is good. What I do not like is that unless you spend a lot of money they bypass all the normal checks other tire places require like; 1. Checking the pressure for each tire. 2. Check the wear/tread of each tire. 3. Check to see if the TPMS light is on/blinking to verify the sensors work. 4. Put away the donut tire, and/or jack if it was used. I really don't know why they do not do this basic stuff and apparently they think the customer should do those things. Stopped by earlier this week for an oil change and I will definitely go back! The great service and unbeatable prices have me hooked! Usually, when I walk into a shop, it's almost always uncomfortable. Guys get all macho and condescending when a woman needs work on her vehicle, but I digress. This staff, however, was extremely respectful and willing to help! They were efficient and did offer maintenance suggestions, but did not pressure me into buying anything or getting any other services done. They printed an estimate for the other things they suggested be done and that was it. I appreciate the respect of letting me decide what I wanted and not lecturing me about what's best for me. Positive experience when I set up an alignment & overall inspection appointment. Upon arrival, everyone was pleasant, upbeat, and efficient. All the customers after my arrival were also greeted happily and efficiently. My estimated wait time was 1 1/2 hours, but I was out in about 45 minutes. The prices were reasonable too. Previously had a balancing and alignment, and after some vibration in one of the tires, took it back under warranty. After dropping the vehicle off, I get a call, citing substantial work needed on the front brakes. They provide an estimate of about $350.00. I decline the work there, and take it to another TIRES PLUS, this one located on Rt. 192 in Melbourne, Fla.. Now the work to the front brakes will cost $2,000 at least. (At no point was there metal on metal squeal of failing brakes). In addition to everything else, they lost the key to my locking lugs and I had to buy a replacement set. Checked out YELP for nearby brake outfits and found C&D, located on North Harbor City Blvd (Joe & Jim), with a great review. Jim from C&D calls back and will do front AND rear brakes for under $800, and threw in an Oil change to boot, and did NOT lose the locking lug nuts. I did not trust TIRES PLUS due to an earlier, similar inspection leading to an alarming, dangerous and expensive job, which, upon going to another mechanic, turned out to be vastly overblown. I don't trust them. On the other hand, C&D did a great job, with twice the work for less than half the price. read more

Stopped in based on a Yelp. Had low tire pressure warning. Salesman filled it and when asked about rating on tires said they appeared to be originals. In fact they were. He said they would be rated for 70 thousand miles and must be close. In fact my mileage was 62000. Knows his stuff. Bought a new set from him. Good experience. read more

I ran over a bolt on my way home from work this evening. My husband met me to change my tire, and I quickly drove the damaged tire to Tires Plus because it was the closest tire store that I found on Yelp that was still open. Even though I arrived at 6:50pm, 10 minutes before they were set to close, Justin Ledesma , the store manager, immediately walked to my car and inspected the damaged tire and said they would repair it. Shawn, another employee, left the job he was working on and spent the next 15 minutes fixing my tire, working even past closing time. Then, when I went to pay, Justin told me not to worry about paying because it was just a tire repair. I can't say enough about how impressed and thankful I was for their efficiency, helpful attitude, dedication to their job, and superb customer service. I went for a simple oil change several months ago. My truck started leaking oil almost immediately but everytime I checked it, it still showed as full. I could see that there was oil leaking around the valve cover. It never needed any oil added and when i took it to get fixed 8 months (to someone else) later it was still full. My truck had been grossly overfilled causing the valve cover gaskets to blow. I guess they assumed I was a stupid woman and would come to them for the repairs.
