They tried to charge me $200 more for road side tire garante plus a fee for recycling my tires that I specifically said I wanted to keep and had 80% tread left (one tire was not repairable) I said I was being taken advantage of with the price change and they asked for proof of my quote which I had... also did not put my spare "donut" tire back in my spot in van. I stood my ground with line forming behind me and left paying $703 and some change. By the way, the store added roadside extra expense without asking me assuming I would just pay it. I went into Tires Plus today needing a simple plug and patch for a Tesla tire after running over a screw. The screw was cleanly in the center of the tread--textbook repairable. Before even inspecting my car, the employee immediately started suggesting I "probably need new tires." Once we actually looked at the tire, he claimed it was "almost to the cords" on the inner edge and urgently tried to upsell me $1,800 worth of new tires. Big mistake. Huge. He messed with the wrong gay guy. My dad's a mechanic--I'm not some clueless customer you can scare into a sale. I checked my tires myself and knew I had about 50% tread life left. To be sure, I got two second opinions from other shops. Both confirmed what I already knew: the tire was absolutely repairable and nowhere near bald. I ended up having the tire repaired at Costco with zero drama. For fun, I asked for a quote on new tires--$1,000 for high tread performance tires. Imagine that. Tires Plus tried to exploit me, and I don't take kindly to manipulation disguised as "professional advice." Do better. read more

I waited an hour for every fat technician to take their McDonald's break at the same time.. I came in for an alignment. They broke two other parts on my car. The mgr claimed he was only aware of one damaged part caused by his crew. I waited two hours having an appointment. . They broke my car and didn't say anything about it. F U ! read more

Avoid this place like the plague! My son who lives in Carson City took his work truck in to have a tire repaired and asked them to check the brakes since they were making noise and not working as they should. They fixed the tire but told him his brakes were fine so he left Tires Plus confident that things were fine. A few weeks later he had difficulty backing out of his driveway because his brakes were apparently "locked up" which prompted him to take it to a competing tire shop in the area where he dropped it off for repairs. The manager called my son back asking him to come back and look at their findings as they had never seen damage this bad on brakes. On several of the wheels the brake pads were completely worn through to where the caliber pistons were now contacting the rotors (see attached pic)! My son drives up and down the hills to and from Lake Tahoe on a daily basis and I feel lucky that he didn't have a complete brake failure on one of these trips! Tires Plus should feel lucky because they would have had a major law suit on their hands if this would have happened and my son were seriously injured or killed! This kind of business etiquette is unbelievable to me especially when Tires Plus is IN THE BUSINESS of not only selling tires but BRAKE JOBS AS WELL! read more

WAY overpriced for basic things like oil changes, and I caught them lying about things they "checked on ", like needing an air filter (even though it was replaced that last week.) Typical scam mechanic BS. But the topper is their garbage credit card, and credit company CFNA. With an APR of 28%, they're a TOTAL rip off. I'm getting an interest on my bill of $150 a month. It's more then I actually pay them a month. Will never go back to this place due to THAT alone. read more

When you choose to align yourself with a company that steals money from their customers by not taking EFT/ACH payments from most banks, the customer gets stuck with a late fee of $29. When I have to waste my time trying to fight this type of thing then the company aligned with them gets the blowback. Quit using them as your financing company. read more

Zach and Cameron went above and beyond to help me out. My dad and I were on vacation from California and my tire blew out on the freeway on my way back. I had just changed them less than a month ago at Costco. They were very responsive on the phone, despite being extremely busy, and offered their sympathy when I showed them the busted tire. They then gave us a clear answer on what we needed, no upselling BS. Initially, the new tire was $200, but they worked on getting it fully covered as it was a manufacturing defect. Ended up paying only $50 for labor. Since we were a rush to get back to Cali, Zach and Cameron were able to push us to the front of the line and we were in and out within an hour. Three times I went back to have a simple dismount/mount and balance. First time I called their corporate number, made reservations and took it in, this shop told me they don't communicate with corporate, so I made another reservation face to face. On my second visit for the same work, I was then told sorry, only new tires with stickers would be able to be mounted. Third visit, I was told again sorry, but their lifts could not handle the weight of my f350? Crazy, to think that a company such as this is incapable of communicating with it's customers and to provide required information. Tires plus has lost a customer with seven vehicles for life. Over the holiday weekend I found myself stranded on US50 with two flat tires caused by a pot hole (thanks NDOT). I randomly showed up on Sunday with two wheels with trashed tires. I had them install 2 rear tires and do an alignment. I later had them install 2 front tires and do an alignment. 10,000 miles later my rear tires were weared out. So, I had to replace my 2 rear tires and took it to someone else for the alignment. Rear tires were mis-aligned. Biggest issue is a serious loss of trust in their work. I will go back for oil change but not much else. Properly they owe me about 2/3 rebate on my tires, cost of installation of tires, and the cost of an alignment somewhere else. I went in for a simple mount and balance on tires I provided. I had a quote from all other competitors for $60 but no availability for appointments so I made one here. I ended up getting charged $160 for just a mount and balance. They filled the tires way under the factory recommended, so the tire light came on and they were too lazy to reset the sensor. I ended up doing that myself. They also dented my fender on the car. Upon the manager(also the person that did the work on the car) looking at the car all he simply said was go get a quote to fix the dent and bring the quote to me. Not a single apology or anything. When they realized we were tourists from Idaho, with now two families stranded in Virginia City, the pushed our repair to the front of the line, and we were headed back to Virginia city. I brought a vehicle in with two tires that had slow leaks, they fixed the leak in one, but put 103 pounds of air pressure in the tire, it should not have been more than 80 pounds. They said they could not find the leak in the second tire even though it was very low when I picked up the vehicle. I took off the tire and discovered that they had way over tightened the lug nuts, they could have stripped the threads. I took this tire to a different tire store and they had no problem finding the leak. I will never go back they are completely incompetent. read more

I am a new resident of Carson City and had an oil change scheduled yesterday. My appointment was for 11 am. It was a Saturday and they were very busy. Many people were trying to get their cars prepared for the predicted snow storm coming in a few days. There was a line at the counter. However, I was called for my appointment right on time and my car returned to me in 60 minutes. I was very pleased because they were trying to help everyone and many were told it would be 3 - 4 hrs maybe. How refreshing that they honored the appointment, had great attitudes, did an excellent job, and finished in the time frame expected. I will be a repeat customer at Tires Plus. read more

Been a customer here a long time. Appointment at 10 because they had to order parts. 10:30 car still not in the bay. Asked them, they said, 10 does not mean an appointment , it just means you bring the car in at that time! Huh? That makes no sense! Staff at the front cussing. I asked for the manager and was told he was out. Told them I would call him, they said, tell him we said hi! Not good customer service . All I can say is they seem to not care about their customers and their time. At least 3 times now ( shame on me for keep going back) I have made an appointment for a tire rotation and balance. Appointment means an appointment, it's scheduled. Several times I have waited in excess of 1 1/2 hours to get my car even moved to get started. I would ask how much longer after about the first 30 minutes. Twice I have waited so long even with an appointment, I got my keys back and left. I've gone here for tires a few times and have never had a bad experience. They have gotten me in and out quite quickly and the guys who work at this location are super friendly. I personally wouldn't want them doing anything more than tires but they always have good deals and the prices are hard to beat. Had a blow out in Dayton and the local shop wich was closing in 15 minutes, didn't want to help us out. So I put the spare on in their parking lot and drove to Tires Plus 30 minutes before they closed during a snowstorm and they had me on my way in 20 minutes with a new tire. Okay, I should have written this review LONG ago! But better later than never! PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!!! I brought my little Ford Escort in for her "frontend" worked on and a aliment (just got two days before 4-NEW Big O tires). Now, I bought my car for $200- because she was 'PERFECT' in her body, inside and out, but needed engine rebuild (my other half had fun doing that :-)). Now she is running great and ready for her first trip, to Utah to visit my son, just needed a little bit more work. WHAT THEY CHARGED ME WAS RIDICULOUS!!! I had paid over $1000.00 for this work done :-/. Them, "You need this done, You need that done" plain bullying! Talking over me, around me and through me! Okay car fixed (my belief, have receipts and everything). Two days later I leave FIRST THING IN THE MORNING...Yeah get to see my baby (son) and am a 'Happy Happy' :-) I DID NOT GET TO UTAH!!! I made it to Wells NV and was at the 'Flying J's' Truck stop got gas and was leaving when stopped by a concerned Truck driver. My front two BRAND NEW TIRES were showing SERIOUS cords!!! Can you say 'Shredded'! My one back tire was showing CORDS!!! and the other back tire rubbed raw! WOW, you could hear my jaw drop to the ground.!!! I had to stay in wells while their only mechanic worked on my car. He was sweet, kind, understanding and VERY patient with me :-) He had to order in MANY NEW parts and 4- NEW tires (yes my Big O covered it under warranty) as well as give me another frontend job. I was their for about a week or so while he fixed her up. Tires plus took out new parts my other half had put in?! Lets just say they stole from me and mine! Upset...YOU BET!!! My vacation time was spent REFIXING MY CAR!!! Not seeing my son!!! I admit that I've had some decent waits at this place, but who hasn't had to wait for service? But listen to this! My Check Engine light went on the day before Thanksgiving. I called, and they were completely booked, but the man I spoke with said to come by then, and he could at least run a 10-15 minute diagnostic to tell me how serious it was. Turned out that some pipe thing (sorry for the crappy terminology), was loose. He grabbed a screwdriver, tightened it, and VOILA, I was done! And NO CHARGE!!! I wish I could remember his name!!! I gave him a $20 for being so kind!!! I'm from the Bar Area, and I swear that this is Carson City service! No one would have done this in the Bay. Bought tires and other work for over $1100.00 at this location. One of the tires has a slow leak. I called to make arrangements for getting the leak fixed. First available appt was two weeks away. Rep said I could bring the car by first thing in the morning and expect to leave it all day. When I told him I couldn't leave the car all day, he informed me that was "just the way it is". Tires Plus is probably the worst place for service in the world (and this includes everyone I have been to). They sell tires but if you need a rotation, a flat repair... do not expect them to help you. I had a confirmed apt. for a rotation, I arrived at the proper time, they told me that they might have it done in three hours or so, but they would not guarantee a time before 4PM. Since I needed to wait for the work (which requires all of fifteen minutes, I was not leaving my vehicle for three to six hours. I was told that I could come back in two weeks. I mentioned that I was getting ready for a long trip, the clerk told me that if I don't rotate on a 5000 mi schedule, I void the warranty. The solution was to schedule with a competitor (Les Schwab) who did it the next day and for free. read more
