Scheduled an alignment online for Saturday AM with closest Tire-Rama store (Sullivan Ave, Spokane). Head in for appointment and gents at the counter say the Tire-Rama online reservation system isn't tied to their in-store systems and they have no way of honoring or even being aware of an online appointment. Okay, that sucks, so I ask if they have any openings I might be able to fit into. Nope, mechanics are only in M-F from 7:00a-3:00p. If you need work done, go to Golden Rule Brake or Les Schwab/Discount Tire for wheels or tires. I thought Tire-Rama might have changed from the Alton's Tire days (before Alton's got bought out/changed their name) but no such thing. Apparently tigers can't change their stripes. Definitely should have read through other recent Yelp reviews before wasting my time. read more

Long time customer, they get the job done. Hoping this will help someone else because I wish I would have done things a different. When any service has a price increase, that should be told to the customer at the being of the interaction. If any service has a price attached to it, that should also be identified upfront. Being told at the time of payment, is just poor customer service. Never assume your customer knows anything and as customer, never assume you are being clearly communicated with about cost. ZERO Stars although Yelp doesn't allow for zero stars. I made an appointment online several weeks ago to get my alignment done on my vehicle at 10am today 12/29/2023. Showed up with my email confirmation in hand and the guy behind the counter says to me that "I" have a problem as their online scheduling system doesn't actually schedule an appointment with them and that I should have called to confirm my appointment. Hmmm. I said that this is not a me problem its a you problem and that I have my confirmation email and he advised me that yes this is a 'me' problem and that he cannot get me in for several weeks. Hmm again, its my problem that their system does not schedule itself and I should call to confirm even though they sent me a confirmation email. After many years of having my vehicles serviced at this location (yes online appointments also) as they are close to home, I will never go back to them. They have lost a long time customer as of today. I have no problem giving my money to a local more expensive mechanic. read more

came here today, with a tire in need of repair. Not only was the staff kind, but very helpful getting it fixed for me and back on the road! I'm disabled, hearing impaired and on the autistic spectrum, and yet they were very nice to me. And I'm thankful they were here for me. I will definitely bring my business here, these are some great men here!!! Two thumbs up!!! The price for repair can't be beat! Took my suv for a bearing. They charged me $800 and only reused the damaged bearing no new parts whatsoever. $800 for grease and labor. Their people must not know what they're doing and I got charged for tye time it took then to figure how to do it. read more

The customer service is that of something I've never experienced before. They're are so prompt in making sure you're helped and comfortable. I went to other places near here to shop for winter tires. Received quotes for a full set for my recently purchased AWD Ford Explorer. Man did I have sticker shock. So I went on to other websites and saw pretty much the same costs. The next day I was at the Taco Bell drive-thru and saw this place on the street behind it and remembered that I had regularly used them when we lived in Coeur d'Alene years ago (we moved away for over 12 years to AZ and Colorado). So I walked in, was greeted immediately and told the gentleman at the counter what I needed. He looked up my vehicle and then took me and showed me the same tires I had been quoted at another shop. I asked him when they could install them he said if I had time they could do it that day. The real kicker to this isn't just that they gave great service... but the cost was more than $200 less than I was quoted elsewhere. These guys are great and will be getting my business. Went to have my tires checked and filled. I've been having issues with my dashboard display was not reading the correct tire pressure of my tires (usually it'll say my tires are filled more than they are). For that reason, once one tire gets a little below what is recommended for my car I'll go in to have them all checked. The guy who came out to fill my tires was very condescending and actually laughed at me when i was explaining my dashboard issue. I had to ask him if something was funny. He really didn't care at all for what i had to say. He filled the tires and made sure the PSIs were all the same. I appreciated him doing the physical service, but he could definitely use better customer service skills. Even if i wasn't using the right terminology, he could have been so much nicer or just tell me that a different mechanic would be able to help with that. Felt like the stereotypical "car guy" talking down to a woman. read more

Took my car in for a 60,000 mile service. Among the highlights: Brake service: They did not put the cap back on the brake fluid fill. From what I'm led to believe, over time, this will cause the brake fluid to thicken and fail, causing my brakes to fail. However, this point was moot, because ... Differential service: They drained my differential, then filled my transmission with differential fluid. Driving home, the differential snapped within about 10 miles. I spent two hours stranded on a dark, rainy interstate waiting for roadside assistance. Additionally, the fluid in the transmission would lead that to fail down the road. This led to an over $8,000 repair, which they did cover. Needless to say, I will not be returning. read more

Just got a new set of Firestone Weathergrip all-seasons on my Impala and they're fantastic. Took my suv there last year for brake work. I paid $800, so I figured the parts would be top quality. This year, I noticed my brakes were grinding and pulsating. I took my car to a different shop, and they told me the last person to service my car put on cheap parts!!! How does this happen??? I paid a lot of money for something that I ended up having to pay money on again to get done right not even a year later.......... I will never return to any Tire Rama location, ever! read more

Went in for an alignment and a tire repair. They said I can't have an alignment because my upper and lower ball joints are bad. I have an established honest mechanic who I've been going to for years and years but he doesn't do tires or alignments, so I go to him and see do I need this. He says absolutely not and the over$1400.00 quote they gave me is BS. Needless to say I won't be returning to this establishment for anything.... read more

They will try to suck your wallet dry. Clear cut crooked shop. Said an employee during a repair, 'it's my job to keep your tire rama credit card full.' They will try to slip in unneeded repairs. Example, we just took a vehicle in with a steering issue. We were quoted $1000. When asked what the cost of just fixing the steering issue (what we asked them to fix) minus the needless repairs they quoted, the cost was $450. He was not forthcoming with this information when first asked, and was condescending towards my fiance (who is female). read more

Day before snow fell I got great service with 4 new tires. They actually opened their doors 10 minutes early

My car needed brakes, so I took it in for an estimate. My boyfriend recommended this location as they had worked on his car and he was pleased with the results. My quote was for four sets of brake pads, four rotors and four sensors. After getting other quotes, which recommended the same work, I scheduled an appointment. They replaced three rotors, two sets of brake pads and one sensor then told me to take my car to the dealership for the rest of the work. I won't be going back!! read more

My wife went here to swap snow tires, they are "first come first serve" so you do have to show up early but they were very competitive on pricing and more than half the dealership. I just got a nail in my tire and they patched that for free this morning too! I was very happy with my experience and will recommend them to my friends. read more

Tom and Adam were amazing! Got my tire repaired in about 30min. This is the fourth time I have had a screw or bolt stick into my tire and I have gone here all four times and had it fixed. 30Jun2009 Re: Alton's Tire - North Point, 910 E.Holland Wanting to purchase local and patronize Spokane business, I agreed to go with the recommended brand from the sales person at Alton's (close to Wal-Mart North) business. Upon driving away and down the street, the Touring tire *claimed* to be soft and quiet, was rough and noisy. Now my Mercedes has tire noise to deal with. Returning immediately and complaining of the excessive tire noise, I was told it was a mechanical not tire noise, which is bunk, as it was not heard when I drove in an hour earlier. I requested purchasing a better and/or different brand of tire, and was treated with distain and like I was bothering them. To add insult to injury, I (also) now have an (expensive) OEM Chrome Mercedes wheel with rim scratches from the R&R. To validate my position in this digital age, I *always* take a few minutes before releasing my car for any work, and take tons of digital pictures should a matter arise, and with this, have many per each fender, wheel and tire, to validate this (scratched wheel) statement. In conclusion: I trusted the sales persons recommendations for a soft and quiet tire, and expected customer satisfaction upon purchase without argument, and received neither. Would I return to Alton's for any further tire or auto service work = No, I will go elsewhere. read more

Either incompetent or scam artists. I brought in my diesel SPECIFICALLY to have the batteries checked. They said the batteries were fine, but the alternator needed to be replaced. $450 later, the mechanic was astonished to find the that the batteries were, indeed, bad, but he couldn't tell because of the old alternator. I know damned well that the batteries can be checked independent of the alternator. I recommend that everyone to stay away from this place. read more
