My calipers were falling off the car!! I took my car to Tire Discounters to get new brake pads and rotors on the front. I agreed to the quoted price and let them start the work. I received a call later as they were working on my car and they said my calipers were completely seized on both sides. Prior to this I had absolutely no trouble with my brakes at all. I was always able to stop without incident. I wanted to get a second opinion somewhere else but they said they had already taken them off and had to replace them and it would be an extra $250. I reluctantly agreed since the car would have been undriveable. A little over a week later I was out on a drive in the car with my wife and 10 month old in the back seat. While driving down the road at speed I applied the brakes and felt like I could not stop. There was horrible vibration and shaking in the front end and I heard metal grinding. I was fortunately able to pull to the side of the road. Upon initial inspection in saw the caliper was completely falling off of the rotor and was barely hanging on by one bolt. The caliper had also damaged my rim and knocked the weights off to balance the tire. I had to have my car towed back to tire discounters. They fixed the caliper issue for free but didn't offer to rebalance the tire or help me with the small damage to my rim. I will not be going back to this place ever again for any service of any kind. The work was questionable and I felt like they thought I was a bother to them. read more

I dropped off my car today for a new set of tires and due to timing I had to pick the car up after they closed. I looked the job over and there are several issues. First all the tires are mounted backwards. The sidewalk that says inside is outside , all 4 of them. So I am not a tire expert but I think that means the tread is now running backwards. Also the material they use to lubricate the wheels with is all over the rims. They didnt even bother to clean it up. It's not one wheel it's all of them. And last my vehicle door jamb calls for 35 psi rear and 33 front. It's right there easy to read. I've got 35-36 on all positions. What's the point of a tire professional if they are not even going to install and inflate the tires correctly. Very disappointed!! This place is trash and these people are crooks. I came here to identify a leak and these crooks wanted me to buy a brand new tire for over $300. I went up the street and NTB FIXED it and didn't try to rip me off. DO NOT COME HERE! UNETHICAL and CROOKED. When I confronted them about it they gave a BS response about safety. Right, so all other tire places don't adhere to the same standards? Looking at all the other reviews, putting in tires backwards isn't a safety issue? I know Tennessee people are dumb but don't assume I am. Run from this place and do your business elsewhere. Btw if you look at trends if you're a thinking Person, all the women gave 5 stars and the men are 1-2 stars. Hmm. I heard a ticking sound while driving and thought I had a stone in my treads. Looked and found what looked like a bullet! Went immediately to Tire Discounters because it was the closest place and they had helped me out previously when my Mom's car showed low pressure and there was no tire gauge in the car (I'm on crutches so hard to maneuver right now). They got me in immediately and pulled out a 3" pin from the tire and repaired it for under $30!! The tires are only a couple of years old so they saved me a bunch of money! Update: I went to Maxi auto (a local shop) and they were able to pin point immediately that my sway bar links needed to be replaced. With the type of noise I was experiencing (a knocking sound) this was a pretty basic diagnosis. So either the staff at tire discounters failed to fully inspect the vehicle, lacked the knowledge, or simply didn't want to help me. read more

Took my truck there had them put in 4 tire sensors everything's great had them put tires and fix flats on 3 other cars 2 years later 2 sensors got out in November and they would not stand behind them took truck to competition and they replaced them and told me there's has a 5 year warranty on them now 2 months later the other 2 go out so I will have to go get them replaced. Called there corporate office and know one to talk to at this point they have lost my business. read more

The whole process was quick and easy. I was so impressed with their service that I left my truck with them to correct a wheel bearings issue when we picked up my daughters vehicle. I travel to CHA from ATL for work once a month and this past week, my tire went flat on the highway. I was able to get to Tire Discounters and Tim and Allen took such great care of me. Tim told me about an Uber service they have free of charge for their clients and I was able to get to work and be picked up later and brought back to pick up my car once my tire was replaced. I'm really grateful for their care and service and would 100% recommend them! read more

I took my truck in for a brake job and a tire rotation. They "lost" one of my hub covers & didn't tighten one of my lug nuts. The truck had a shimmy in it while driving more than 10mph. I took it back in to be fixed. Evidently, they didn't button up the brakes right, and let something get between the pads and rotor. I will give them credit that they did fix the problem, but it took them several hours longer than quoted. This is the second time that repairs took considerably longer than quoted. I went here for just an oil change and they tried selling me on doing an AC leak test and sucking out my refrigerant and putting new refrigerant in to help my AC (which was pretty bad, but later I bought a can at Walmart and filled it myself for $15 it's easy just watch a YouTube video on how to). Anyway, it took them about 35-40min to finish with my car, even though there was only one other car being worked on there. I just wanted a quick oil change. The price for the oil change was around $30, but when I got my bill it was over $50.... they had replaced my air filter and charged me $20 extra for the part and work WITHOUT asking me and I had replaced my air filter LESS THAN 4 WEEKS PRIOR. So it was still good... I didn't think the employees were positive or overly professional. I felt like I was getting hassled to have more work done on my car than I wanted and I'm sure that works on a bunch of people who don't know much about cars. In short, I'm giving a 1-Star because I was charged extra for a filter I was not asked about, the service took long, they were not very professional or positive, and I didn't like how the employee was trying to push a bunch of extra charges on me. read more

I brought my husband over to Erlanger for surgery and my back tire was going flat. I drove to Tire Discount and they repaired my tire. When I went to pay for the service I was told it's on them. They didn't charge me. God bless these people that really blessed me today. I am needing 2 new front tires and I will go back to this Tire Discount and get it done. When the temperature started to creep up on the unprepared air conditioner in my domestic SUV, I had to take action. Driving along the busy Gunbarrel corridor in Chattanooga, I noted how many bays were already filled in the auto repair businesses on the busy street. I thought of the brand new Tire Discounters ahead. Upon arrival, I was pleased to see that there were several bays vacant. I pulled in and the team got busy on the AC and a tire rotation I requested. Technically, they got on the job before I actually completed approval for it. "Oh well", I thought. "They're new". I had some work to do while waiting for my vehicle so I was glad to see a well appointed waiting area. The clever design not only featured comfortable seating, beverages and HDTV's, but desk space with plenty of accessible power outlets for my devices (Woot, Woot!) I learned that there were some seals to the AC unit that would have to be replaced. The bearer of bad news actually gave me the impression that he was truly sorry for the higher price of the total repair. "He's new" I reasoned. As time passed my "To Do" list began to shrink. I would have liked an update more frequently, but I again thought to myself "They're new". The room filled with other customers, so I was glad that my adventure in auto repair began earlier in the morning. Eventually, I got the update that I was awaiting. Soon, my credit card was in and out of their grateful hands and I was back in my very cool (temperature) vehicle and driving away, lighter in the bank account, but happy! read more

This place fixed my breakes in August 2019 me and my son waited there for 6 hours while they ordered breake parts from auto zone and they kept sending the wrong ones they played around for hours goofing off and listening to music really loud they wouldn't even start on my breakes until I asked them a bunch of times I didn't have the money for repairs and was walking to get a loan but the service guy said Don't do that we have FlexTires here but my repairs were 382.00 and i didn't know that FlexTires would charge 952.00 until later anyway they finally fixed it but it was making a awful noise for weeks I have gone back multiple times but they just laughed and said the dust plate is rubbing so I drove it for 2 weeks like that until one rainy day my car wouldn't stop it almost killed my 8 year old son till they even looked at it they said they forgot to the bolts in breakes and they would fix it for free but why this never should have happened I shouldn't still have to pay for this the general manager George just thinks I'm after money but I'm not I just wanna go to a place that would actually care if your car is put back together why don't they care why why why? read more

The guys here are phenomenal!! We have always been treated fairly here. We have brought both our cars here for various service (brakes, suspension, tires, etc...) and every time we have left with a smile on our face. Their outstanding service began the first time our car was serviced here. It broke down on Gunbarrel Road right in front of the shop. Brought my own tires to get mounted and my Jeep alignment done. Gunbarrel location shop management and technicians made me feel like I was an important customer. Manager ever came out and helped me offload my new tires from my vehicle and carry them into the shop. Service was fast I was probably in and out in less than 1 hour for 4 tires offs, new ones on and a front end alignment. Really fast quality work. Cost seemed pretty competitive with other companies in the area with similar services. I'll definitely be going back to them for other service in the future due to this experience. read more

I have purchased many tires/Services from the Gunbarrel Road location on Tire Discounters as I tend to be a very loyal customer. Today, they lost my business. I have been back four times since I purchased my last set of tires for the same reason (tire sensor light that keeps coming on). Turns out they placed the damaged/flat tire that precipitated the need for new tires as my spare. I specifically told them at the time to put the original spare back in place. Very careless. Today, they tried to charge me over $300 for a tire to correct their mistake. I will never use this company again. I gave them the opportunity today to do the right thing and they declined. Advice - if you need tires/Automotive service go somewhere else. As a consumer, I fully understand mistakes as we are not perfect. I will never understand or support a company that is negligent, dishonest and will not correct their own mistakes. read more

My first experience with Tire Discounters was excellent! Tim gave me a warm friendly greeting at the door. I told him I needed my brakes looked at as I think they are bad. He went to my car to get my mileage and also walked around my car looking at my tires. When he returned he took me back to my car to show me my front tires were worn to the tread bar but also I had the belts showing on the inside of one of my tires. I appreciated the extra time he took to make sure I was traveling on safe tires. He gave me a great deal on two new tires and they got me in and out quickly! My brakes were fine as it was my front tires causing my concern. I appreciated Tim going the extra mile for me! I will definitely go back there again! read more
