Ever since Auto Tech gave me some free services at their old Adams Morgan location in the early…read more2010s, I've held them in high regard. So when my local mechanic couldn't fix an issue that cropped up with my car in September, I went out of my way to bring my car from NW to Auto Tech's Trinidad shop. My car had a P1454 check engine light (fuel tank pressure sensor/EVAP system issue). Auto Tech did a diagnostic and recommended replacing the sensor for $519. They said they weren't completely sure it would fix the problem, but they warned me that if I took the car to a dealer, the dealer would want to replace the full EVAP system for at least $2,000. I trusted Auto Tech's advice and authorized the $519 repair, but the check engine light came back on the next day. Auto Tech then advised I replace the rest of the EVAP system, quoting me over $1,500 just for the parts. I decided to get a second opinion from the dealer anyway. For a $195 diagnostic fee, the dealer identified a clogged fuel vent tube, cleaned it out, and fixed the problem. This tube is attached to the same fuel tank pressor sensor Auto Tech replaced -- meaning that Auto Tech never took the time to check for a blockage in the immediate vicinity of the part they replaced. When I called Auto Tech to provide this feedback and express my disappointment with the misdiagnosis, they blew me off. They insisted they had been right all along, offered an obviously insincere apology, and hurriedly got off the phone. I am deeply disappointed with Auto Tech and can no longer recommend them due to their failure to properly diagnose this issue, bad advice about how much a dealership would have charged, and dismissal of my feedback.

The service I received today at the Goodyear on Bladensburg Road NE in Washington, DC was…read moreexceptional. Dwayne provided outstanding customer care from start to finish. I initially called to confirm the tire size on my truck, which I originally purchased from this location about two years ago, as I was considering getting replacement tires from the Chevy dealership on highway 210 in Maryland. However, after speaking with Dwayne and receiving a quote for the same tires I previously purchased, my plans changed immediately. Dwayne was patient, attentive, and genuinely committed to helping me. He took the time to research the information I needed, called me back promptly, and kept me informed throughout the process. That level of communication and professionalism speaks volumes about his customer service skills. Even with the location's busy schedule, he never appeared irritated or rushed, even when I had to call him back multiple times. When I arrived, I did not have a long wait because the tires had already been ordered earlier that morning. Dwayne continued to keep me updated and assured me that my truck would be taken care of with great attention and care. This is the type of customer service--and fair pricing--that creates loyal, repeat customers. Because of the excellent experience I had today, I will continue to return to this location for future tire needs and any work on my truck. Thank you so much, Dwayne. Your professionalism is truly appreciated.

I recently went in for an alignment and was greeted by two incredibly pleasant employees. From the…read moremoment I walked in, both were welcoming, attentive, and genuinely helpful. As I was checking out, I mentioned that this visit felt completely different from previous experiences. The store manager, Jessica Paredes (though at the time I didn't know she was the manager), asked what I meant. I explained that the older woman who usually works the front has always been mean, dismissive, and honestly difficult to deal with. I arrived today expecting the same attitude. But today was a GOOD day--no attitude, no nasty looks, no negative energy. I was relieved and truly happy, especially for a Friday. Jessica apologized for my past experiences and shared that she was the new manager. I immediately told her I would definitely be returning as a customer. Honestly, the only reason I gave the location another chance was because I didn't feel like driving farther--but I'm glad I did. Dwayne, who assisted me first, was also extremely helpful and kept me updated on the status of my vehicle. And I have to give a huge shoutout to Mr. Clarence, the mechanic--he is absolutely awesome and highly professional. His expertise and thoroughness gave me confidence that my vehicle was in great hands. From a customer's perspective, the front desk is the first point of contact, and the person in that role should understand just how important customer service truly is. Customers should always feel welcomed, valued, and comfortable--especially when spending their hard-earned money. I want to thank Goodyear for making a management change that clearly prioritizes customer service and respects the customer experience. Leadership matters, and Ms. Jessica Paredes is proof that great leadership sets the tone. The improvement in morale, professionalism, and overall experience is a direct reflection of her presence. Excellent job to Ms. Paredes--leadership starts at the top, and it shows in how her staff engages with customers. I appreciate the positive changes and will absolutely return

I brought my car here after the temperature gauge started running higher than normal during my…read morecommute. I initially thought it might just be an aging coolant issue, but I didn't want to keep driving it and risk turning a cooling-system problem into an engine problem. Their technicians inspected the heating and coolant system rather than simply topping off the reservoir and sending me home. They found that the coolant level was low and traced the issue to a leak that needed attention. They also checked the hoses and other components of the cooling system and explained what they found before doing the repair. I appreciated that because I wanted to understand why the temperature had been fluctuating instead of just being handed a repair bill. While they had the vehicle, they also checked the heater operation because I'd noticed that the cabin heat wasn't getting as warm as it normally did. The technician explained how the coolant system affects both engine temperature and the vehicle's heating system, which helped everything make much more sense. After the repair and coolant service, the temperature gauge stayed exactly where it should during both stop-and-go D.C. traffic and longer drives. The heater also returned to normal operation. I love that they didn't immediately recommend replacing expensive parts. They inspected the system, identified the actual problem, explained the repair, and then verified that everything was operating properly afterward. That's exactly the kind of approach I want from an auto repair shop. Plus, everyone was professional throughout the visit, and the technicians clearly knew what they were doing - very reassuring!

Cons They had my car for 24 hours and i had to call them to ask for updates. They gave me 8k estimate for a full scope of work that was needed.
