We stopped in right after opening in hopes to get our tire pressure checked after our tire pressure light went off the previous night. We were doing a lot of travel that day and simply asked him to check it quickly. The worker at the time was rude and seemed to be put off my our ask. We tried to give some grace as they were down a few workers thay morning. The tone and demeanor that he gave off seemed as if we were being an inconvenience to him. I came in to get my left driver side tire fixed because i had a flat and they started telling me all this stuff was wrong with my car they said i need new brakes and rotors all around my car and that my arm controls on my car was bad and that i needed a wheel alignment and that my tires were bald when i just got a new tire on the right side a month ago and they quote me 1.3k i took my car to s&s tires they did all 4 brakes and rotors for $700 they also said my control arm is fine and that tire barns put my lug nuts on my tire wrong and that tire barns is trying to scam me for money. We drove through Merrillville enroute from North Carolina to Wisconsin. Our Honda's undercarriage skid plate fell off and was dragging after driving through a foot of snow. We stopped into the Tire Barn without an appointment. I didn't even know what town I was in! They gave us a coupon to eat next door; told us it would be 40 minutes before they could look at it. We returned in that timeframe. Elisa told us the car was done, their mechanic did a temporary fix and hooked it in place using zip ties. She suggested we have it looked at when we get home, so that they could secure it properly. We made an appointment to get in this morning at our local Honda dealer. They found NO abnormalities with the skid plate. The tire Barn used BOLTS to secure the part in place; then sent us on our way - with NO CHARGE! I was like, "Are you kidding me??!" Elisa said "Ya, we are happy to help. Take care." Companies like this should be recognized for kind, expedient service. I want to thank EVERYONE for their time in helping us out. This would be a PERFECT opportunity to take advantage of someone who is literally passing through town and will not likely be back again. We got STUCK in SNOW in 12 inches of snow in Indianapolis. Came in town for a White Sox game we were leaving the hotel to leave and there was a nail in the tire. It was a Sunday and didn't know where to go - found this place near our hotel. They quoted an hour and half to fix to plug the hole so we walked across the street to the mall 40 min later they called and it was done!! They were so friendly, fast and affordable!! Today i was a first and last time customer. I purchase a Groupon for a wheel alignment. I went online to schedule an appointment for 4:30 pm. I arrived early at the Merrillville Indiana location , only to be told that they take their last appointment for that service at 3pm. When asking for clarification on why i was even able to make the appointment, the manager Jim Solik was unkind and unapologetic. I have wasted money on fuel to drive there as well as spent time away from my family unnecessarily. I find it absolutely unacceptable. read more

The customer service was OK but when I had discuss two good new tires, they had gave me two Ironman man tires and had Gaven me an 40$ up charge. after we had told james solik that over the phone we agreed on 130$ per tire and for 2 tires it would be around 270$ for a two Goodyear tire he has made the appointment. the next day we come in a he puts Ironman tires on it and charges 310$ and after we tell him he closes shop and we wait to question him about it. he stood in a 17year old face and tried to start an altercation with him. he tried saying that he gave us the cheapest tires when we said good year tires. read more

Had to do a walk in after the Firestone Service Center appointment I made online wasn't noticed by the staff. I had a slow leak from the smallest Nail/Wire? I had ever seen poke a hole in a tire. just wanted to give a great review to this location and their staff. I was passing through on my way back home and I had an issue with all four tire pressure sensors malfunctioning on my vehicle. I was worried I had a computer glitch or tire problem. After a thorough inspection, they adjusted all four tire pressures to full psi, reset sensors and applied a bead sealant. Just tried to stop and see if the Tire Barn on 3450 W 3rd St, Bloomington, IN could look at a tire that was loosing air. I had purchased the tire from them this past winter and was hoping they could take a quick look at it. There were two young ladies at the front desk, neither one acknowledged I was there. One of them played on the computer while the other one was to interested in making a tire sale to even say we will be with you in a minute. I know it's hard to find anyone to work these days but if you are working, please learn how to deal with customers. I have an appointment set for Saturday to get my tires rotated, hopefully it will be a better experience. I was truly disappointed with how I was treated today. Great job! Very professional. We had brand new tires put on at another shop and were having balancing problems. Kyle and Jim were very helpful and explained all the possible outcomes. They found all the tires to be unbalanced. After checking out and driving the car just one block away it felt like a brand new car!! Great ride now! So happy!!! While on a road trip, we had a sudden loss of air pressure in one tire. We were referred to Tire Barn where they quickly diagnosed a cracked rim and put on our spare tire. We were able to buy a new wheel from a car dealership but the dealership didn't have an appointment to put it on our car for 10 days! We went back to Tire Barn and they had us back on the road 45 minutes later! DEFINITELY recommend!!! read more

We were visiting family in NW Indiana. On our drive from Florida the low tire pressure sensor came on. Stopped at Tire Barn in Merrillville. They put our car up on the rack, checked all our tires to ensure no damage and added air as needed. They spent about 15 minutes checking everything out - then did not charge us as they said no tires or major service was provided. The staff were very nice. What a great experience. read more

Tire Barn lost a customer! Absolutely horrible! Dropped the truck off at 11:00 am for new tires and alignment. Never heard from them that the truck was done. Drove there at 3:00 pm to find the truck sitting in the same spot as dropped off without new tires put on. Tech couldn't get the lug nuts off and didn't call to let me know. Then they stated they would provide a free alignment for my trouble. Called to get a report of the findings of the alignment only to find out they didn't even perform an alignment. I limped into this Tire Barn on a donut after convincing some strangers to help me remove an inconveniently-timed flat at a Newton County rest stop. A very handsome mechanic repaired my tire and put it back on AT NO CHARGE within about 15 minutes. I've always had positive experiences with the chain, but this encounter was just awesome. My jaunt to Chicago could have been ruined by the tire debacle, but it concluded with me feeling warm and fuzzy about humanity, thanks in part to Tire Barn. read more

Ever since they got rid of that guy that used to work the counter, customer service has been SOOO much better! I've been bringing my car to them again now, off & on for the last several months. The discounts are usually better than other places, & if I remember correctly, they do competitive pricing. Every time I brought my car in, they got it in the shop fairly quickly, & always check with me 1st before making repairs. If money is tight, they explain which repairs have to be made now, & which can wait for a little bit. They are very patient with me, & the mechanics are awesome too :) read more

I have an 2007 BMW X5 and have been have issues with vibration coming from my wheels. I've had the BMW dealership, balance the tires twice and after a week or so, the vibrations comes back. I brought my X5 into Tire Barn. I had them balance a wheel that I was told was bent, only to find out that it wasn't, yet they did find the one that was slightly bent and was still able to balance it without an issue. I am now driving without any problems and I want to thank Tire Barn for a job well done. I will recommend them for tire service. read more

Horrible costumer Service, tires are cheap only drive on my brand new tires 175 miles and had to replace. Didn't have replacement in stock so now I'm driving on different tired because thel they don't have tire in stock. Tried to come up with solution but tire barn manager doesn't really care.
