*edit* Guest Services contacted me based on my review. They identified several issues that occurred. The manager was using an old Groupon code, which didn't credit the correct amount. Additionally, I was upcharged for an optional "full synthetic" filter for an extra $10, which was never mentioned to me. As a result, they offered to send me a $30 refund, as I had been in from out of town and could not return to the store. It was mailed promptly. I went to this location for an oil change and tire rotation. I had purchased the service from Groupon which clearly states "Full Synthetic Oil Change with Tire Rotation or Aquapel Glass Treatment". When I pulled up, there were no other customers in the bays, and I was directed to pull in. I shothis wed the employee I had a voucher from Groupon, he told me the price $153, and said the voucher would be applied at checkout. After watching 2 or 3 cars that arrived after me, get their oil changed and pull out, they finally got the tires rotated and the vehicle on the lift to change the oil. After another long wait, I was told that I was ready to go. The employee was unable to check me out due to the Groupon voucher seemingly not working. He said he would have to call someone, and after a few minutes informed me that his manager was on his way back to the location and would handle it. (The manager was out picking up a filter they didn't have for another customer who was stuck in this particular hell with me). At this point I had been there for an hour. Once the manager arrived, he attempted to check me out, couldn't had to place a call to someone else to figure out the system. He finally got it all put in appropriately, and much to my surprise said I owed $48 and change. At my surprise, he said that there is always a small amount left over with Groupon. I said that $50 wasn't a small amount, he shrugged and pointed to the paper he had used to guide him that stated all Groupons only covered oil, and nothing else. I pointed out the voucher clearly stated the tire rotation was included, he shrugged and said all the Goupon people say that. I told him that I had been here for well over an hour at this point, he shrugged again and said we have a lot going on. Obviously, someone is wrong with how the Groupon is presented (eitther Jiffy Lube or Groupon). Based on the slow service, and seeming indifference of the "manager", I'd guess it is their "policy" that is incorrect. At the very least, since this seems to be a known issue, they should inform the customer before the service not after. I would at least have had a choice on whether to continue. The Groupon cost $79, and the redit this location gives is $73, sure doesn't seem like a good deal. Either way, based on the extremely poor service, I would recommend staying far away from this location and their shady business practices. read more

This actually felt illegal. I went there for a tire change in October last year nothing crazy, however the manager worked on it I won't say who but easy to find out. It took him 4 hours and 25 minutes to change all four tires that's more than a hour on each tire. Not only did it take so long he BROKE OFF my sensor and blamed it on me! He wrote it off as broken on arrival when another worker literally gave me my sensor back ripped off instead of telling me he threw it in the trash! How can you say it is broken on arrival when it worked PERFECTLY fine before. I only knew because of the other worker he also charged me extra than agreed upon $20 more for 3 hours extra it should've been and a broken sensor. I wish it ended there. There's a HUGE poster that legit says "military discounts" he flat out refused it I don't expect it but when there's an actual poster saying so I did expect it. It is now the end of February for about half a year they've told me they'll fix it, THEY MADE GO THERE FIVE SEPARATE TIMES! But now they suddenly changed and said no that is what felt illegal to me. How can you tell me you WILL fix it but now you can't? When I'd call for an update and request the manager who worked on it he would groan and give it to a different coworker.A coworker that wasn't even working that day he would not take responsibility over it it's a $40 part I can fix it but you go to them so you don't have to deal with this. What ended up making me decide to make a review is i called HR I explain the situation they said they'll call me back it's been 3 weeks and I've called many times they're ignoring me. PLEASE go to legit anywhere else. Do not go here if you do do not have the manager work on it he could break it and not take responsibility. read more

July 2021 - It's not easy finding a good reliable automotive maintenance company but I think I found one this week. Leticia and the crew in Valpo did an excellent job! I received an oil and filter change and requested a change in the cabin filter. The service was thorough and quick. It was well worth the 16 mile drive from Merrillville. I had a chance to talk to a longtime customer in the waiting room and he was quick to endorse everything that they do. read more

I needed some help as I was putting my car in storage. Leticia and Charles helped me quickly both with tires and fuel stabilizer, which was tricky to get into the tank due to poor bottle design. I really have a mixed review of this business. Here are the negatives... 1. I pulled up and one of the employees came out and told me it would be 15-20 minutes and asked if that was OK. I thought, "wow, that's good customer service to come out to give me an expected time." let's just say they missed it by about 30 minutes. 2. I had a coupon from the Internet for $15. I asked if they took the coupon. They looked at it and said, "yes we do." When I went to pay, that very same employee told me, "no, we don't take that coupon." 3. Looking at my bill, they overcharged me. The price charged was higher than the price quoted. 4. The employee could not spell my name. On the sixth failure, I told him, "yes, that's it." There were some positives... 1. The waiting room was clean and the restroom was adequately clean. 2. They have a television in the waiting room with a programmed loop that was pretty decent. 3. They had an elderly lady who came in for an oil change and two different employees tried to talk her out of an oil change because she didn't need it, saying that she had over 50% of life left in her oil. Ultimately, will I go back? NO! It was difficult to get in and out of and I really just don't do business with people who say one thing when they are trying to get your business and another thing when they want you to pay. read more

I am so impressed with the Jiffy Lube in Valparaiso, IN. I took my car in for an oil change not knowing that my car did not require an oil change yet. The manager and service tech promptly pointed out that my Honda computer maintenance system indicated it was not time for an oil change. Kudos to Jiffy Lube's manager and tech for their honesty. Fast, friendly, and knowledgeable service every time I go in for an oil change. They are always honest and up front on how long it will take and how much it will cost. Also they don't try to sell me things I really don't need. They do make me aware of anything that may be needing repair in the near future. Oil change was very quick and I didn't feel like they tried to upsale anything. My only problem was with whoever was actually in my car. My car reeked of cigarette smoke when they were done with it and there were oil marks on my door and door handle, and drops of oil on my window buttons. Unfortunately I only found the drops of oil when I tried to roll up the window. Despite washing, my fingers smelled like oil the rest of the day. Just disappointing. read more

This is my second worst experience with this location. The first experience I wanted to get an oil change and I was waiting 20-30 minutes for someone to even acknowledge me. The employees were having their own conversations and acted as if they didn't see me sitting at the garage waiting. 30 minutes later someone comes out and says, "they don't have power." Ultimately I had to drive all the way to Merrillville 61st Ave, which is a pretty steep drive from valpo. Yesterday Monday August 22, 2022 I arrived at Jiffy Lube at 3:50p, I was waiting for someone to acknowledge me or provide some form of customer service and it never happened. I waited for a good 20 minutes, I saw every employee look but not one person came up to my car. I will not return to this location, it's an irritation that the lack of customer service is not there. This is the worst location to go to and I will be going to the Merrillville location from here on out. read more

Brakes needed done on the way home from Grand Rapids, MI to Springfield, IL. They got us right in, showed us all 4 wheels, and explained everything. We ended up only needing the back 2 pads and rotors. Staff was friendly, honest, and service was fast! read more

Awful! I went there to get an oil change which they did, but told me I need brake pads because my back ones were really bad! They didn't have time to do it, so I decided to go elsewhere and get them done, I was going on vacation soon and wanted them fixed. Highly recommended! Best service we've ever received! My husband and I are driving cross country from Ohio to Oregon and in Valparaiso Indiana our radiator cracked. Our timing couldn't have been worse. It was a Sunday afternoon on Labor Day weekend. We thought we were going to have to wait for another 3-4 days before someone was open to work on it. We initially talked to Christian at jiffy lube which lead us to coming there. Once we got there Buddy confidently said he could replace the radiator. Kyle helped us get the part right away. From breaking down to leaving jiffy lube, it was less than 3 hours. Which saved us multiple days on our trip and hundreds of dollars on hotels and repair fees. This is probably some of the best service we've ever received. They went above and beyond to help us out. Buddy said he would fix it even though it would run after 5 o'clock and that's something that's rare to see. Someone who cares that much for strangers. Amazing customer service! I can't say enough about these three guys. Definitely would recommend this jiffy lube to anyone. Very kind, fast, efficient and helpful! Thank you again! I love this Jiffy Lube! They've always steered me in the right direction and always charged me less than other places for services. I feel they are always honest and up-front with me about what needs to be done to my car, what's immediate and what can wait a while. I just went in today for an oil change and I was coming straight from a doctor appt so I had been out all morning. I decided to stop and grab a slice of pizza on my way in so I had a small pizza box in my car when I got there. I left it on the passenger floorboard and I just now realized that they threw it away for me! I thought that was so nice. They always go above and beyond. read more

The Valparaiso Jiffy Lube is excellent. In addition to the standard oil changes, they do car repairs. They've done excellent work on my two cars, including brakes, valve cover gaskets, oil pan gaskets, serpentine belt, etc. They offer one-stop shopping; they'll take your car to another company if it needs something Jiffy Lube doesn't have (like alignments). They do excellent quality work, their charge for the work is reasonable, and they work quickly. Plus, they stand behind their work. It's a pleasure to have a reliable car repair shop close to where I live. read more

Terrible experience! They drained out my differential oil instead of the old oil when doing my oil change. I could not even make it home after visiting this Jiffylube. The management did not reach out to me to apologize for their almost detrimental mistake. They did fix it, after hours of repeatedly trying to contact them.
