This guy quoted me a great price, so I let him install them. So Tom's replaces my tires and the mechanic came to me and said that he installed a "missing" bolt from one of the ball joints. First off, I was shocked it was missing and second, I was shocked Tom's mechanic even caught it, let alone replaced the bolt. There was no charge. The fact that he checked my suspension system and all I was having done was a couple of tires, really surprised me. But God only knows what would have happened down the road if he didn't see that bolt missing and replace it. No more "house" mechanics for me. If you want the job done right, go to Tom's. It's obvious to me now, that you get what you pay for! I'll be taking my cars to Tom's from now on.

I called them up at 4pm with two hours left in their workday and they said that they would be willing to stay late if possible to fix it. I was able to get towed there fairly quickly and they actually were able to get my starter replaced and get it going back on the road again 2 minutes before closing at 6 PM. It's my first time there, but since I'm moving to Valparaiso it will probably not be my last time. They seem like a great bunch of guys there! Valpo Muffler is one of the best I've found the area. We have used their repair services twice in the past six months for exhausted related issues, and both times have been fantastic. For each issue, the owner, John, personally inspected our car and gave a free estimate for the repairs. The work was done quickly and in line with the very reasonable cost they quoted. What makes Valpo Muffler exceptional though are the little things. It's wonderful to find a mechanic who is not only good and fair but also friendly. When unexpected exhausted issues cropped up with our Honda Civic, John got us in that afternoon and completed our repairs in less than a hour. Of course, more complicated issues would have taken longer, but it was wonderful seeing a mechanic put his customer's needs first. A few things to note - Valpo Muffler does service most automotive issues but it is only a non-electrical mechanic meaning they only service issues with drive train, engine, exhaust, etc - they do not handle body, electrical, or computer services. They also will give you no-fuss, free visual estimates right there but any diagnostic testing will come with a fee. With this in mind, you cannot find many mechanics much better than the folks at Valpo Muffler.

They would be happy to replace the front sway bar ASAP. I had no time to shop around and agreed to the estimate and repair. That was a big mistake!! While the problem was fixed. The final cost was way more than reasonable. I have since found that the parts were on average 40% to 50% over actual cost from Mopar. Needless to say, this was very disappointing and while I visit the area periodically and have used brown tire services in the past, I will not use them again and advise others to avoid service there or at the very least get a competitive bid from another repair shop. I decided to put the old broken axle back but they recommend me to let them rebuild the old axle for me for cheaper cost. In the last month…read moreI've had some car issues and the check engine light came on which because my car is an '18 it has sensors that when the check engine light goes off a whole bunch of other lights do as well. I've had issues with the sensors being out of alignment because of whatever on the road. But when my check engine light came on I knew this was something completely different. So I take it to a Honda dealer seems smart ‍. They find nothing when they do a diagnostic they asked if I had jumped my car recently (I had not) and ask some other things which I don't remember. But they said nothing is wrong now but it may be going to go out. Fine. Well a month later same thing happens this time supposedly ALL of my fuel injectors are bad. My dad is like I don't think so talked with a employee at Advanced Auto who said I had a better chance at wining the lottery than that happening. So Honda wanted to charge me about $1300 to replace them all. I knew I had an extended warranty and I was sick on the dealership by now. So I look to see where I can go and Heinold and Feller was on the list which is perfect I go to Orangetheory in Valpo it's on the way. I take it in one evening and they are going to look at it the next day. Well after someone who did a more thorough inspection looked it was not my injectors (although they did need a cleaning) one of my spark plugs was cracked. I was so just relieved at they found the actual issues. Because several people said sure they'll fix/replace the injectors but there is probably an underlying issue. Todd my sales rep was so helpful and explained everything over the phone for me. I'm not sure who my mechanic was but I really appreciate the for everything and letting me know if I still have misfiring issues to come back! I will definitely be going back for any future car needs including my oil changes. I'm sorry if this review seems more like a diss at Honda but Heinold found what Honda missed probably twice. And they clearly know their cars and they take care of you! High recommend!
