We stopped in after our tire pressure light went on the previous night. The first employee told us we would be behind 6 cars in front of us and it would be hours before we could get it look at. I went back inside to see if they sold digital tire pressure gauges and unfortunately do not. This time a different employ told us to pull around to a bay and he would check it for us. After about 5 minutes of waiting in near the bay, we didn't see the employee. I went in to check and he was on the phone. I completely understand someone could have called within that time, but to wait 8 minutes with all the other employees dismissing us at the pay seemed odd. Firestone has lost a loyal customer along with my entire family who are also loyal customers. The customer service at this location is horrible! The female that answered the phone on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 has zero care or concern for anyone. She is very rude, unhelpful, uncaring and has zero people skills. I will never do business with Firestone again! Their warranty program is BOGUS! Don't fall for it. At the end of the day they do not back their products or even care about their customers. manager was absolutely horrible and would not honor the lifetime warranty OR even the 12 month for my front end alignment even though i was clearly eligible since work was only 7 month old. Manager was rude, mouthy, demeaning, and insulting. told me i was getting lifetime warranty in Aug when i went there but then denied me even a 12 month. had to go to portage to get it done. Decent experience, I had called around to 6 different Firestone locations in the direction of heading home only to find this one was the only on readily available to take my service truck. I was told by the other locations that they were to busy and could not accommodate me. Coming from the flat rate technician world, if I knew my service advisor was turning away work, I'd be mad as hell... nonetheless. I appreciate this location tending to my needs. The accommodations and professionalism was evident. The waiting time was redunkulous... I came in for one tire to be replaced and get the vehicle serviced. Left with a serviced vehicle and 4 tires. Being in the repair industry I couldn't help but hear one of the younger fellas there putting his salesman hat on. Absolutely terrible, called to make an appointment for my tire rotation at 2pm, so I showed up then for the appointment and it took 3 hours for them to get my car in. Then proceeded to worsen my tire rotation. And had to pay another place just to fix what Firestone screwed up. I called the Merrilville location because I have been buying my tires from Firestone for more than 15 years and until today I was a happy customer. I explained that I had a bit of an emergency, I am a volunteer firefighter and have had to stop for air on late night calls due to a slow leak. I was told they could get me in quickly. Not much less than three hours later I am told that the tire isn't repairable and that they don't stock the size either (2020 Stinger). I wasn't told why it wasn't repairable even after I asked. I had to Google it and find out that they use a patch and plug repair that requires a half inch on either side. I looked at the tire and not only was there an inch nd half I could care less about the patch I just wanted a plug. I suppose it's better to have a slow leak and a nail in my tire than a plug according to them. Then I get in my car pull out to 30 and my TPS shows 45, 39, 38 and 37 PSI, I had just left Jiffy Lube prior to going to Firestone and my TPS reported 33 in the front and 34 in the rear as it should when I left there. I called to see if they would fix it but Danny wouldn't even let me talk to the manager about it. Anyway I found the service and professionalism to be very poor. I don't recommend this location whatsoever. Other customers coming in with complaints while I was there too. Mark and Danny should be ashamed of themselves. read more

My truck came back with cracked rims, and my wife's car with a broken lug. They don't quite know how to torque anything. I called, explained the issue I was having with my vehicle and they told me to go ahead and bring it in and they would take a look at it. They said I could either bring it in today (which was 01.27.20) at the time) or Thursday. During our almost 20 minute conversation, he Never once mentioned anything about an initial inspection fee. I was thinking great, they can get me right in today, So I end up taking my car in (on a donut tire). I get there, explain everything again and just now being told about the $40 inspection fee!! Well, that should have been my first notion of the dishonesty, but I was naive and went ahead with the inspection because I was already there (well played firestone - you got me there!)...and I was driving on a donut tire. Dropped it off at 11.30am, ran errands and finally about 4.30pm, I call to follow up on it. They still had not even brought it back yet and said I was next. I finally get a call awhile later telling me they can't get to me tonight, but will get to it tomorrow. So now I have to leave it over night and hope they get to it tomorrow. Next day comes (01.28.20) they call and tell me what is needed to be done to fix my car, $1900+. I tell them I will be down to get it and he tells me to give him 45 minutes to get it put back together !? I get there to get my car and he charges me the $40 inspection fee, but then refuses to give me the quote in writing. I told him I was going through an organization to help me pay for the repairs because I am currently the victim of domestic violence, single mom, no help, no child support and he still refused ! I told him, if he would have told me ahead of time he couldnt give me the quote in writing, I would have never went there, because I know the organization won't help without detailed information and the quote. So now I just spent $40 (groceries for my kids) for no reason at all... a complete waste of time and money that I didnt have !! read more

Southlake Morrow Ga on Mount Zion. I dropped my car in for an alignment and tires rotating at 1:15 pm. I went back to get around 4 and no one looked at it. I then left again. When I came back the tech Jamel did not do neither because he said I needed two new tires. Which is understandable. 1. They did not look at my car in the order it was dropped off. 2. When I got my car back I noticed the next day my work planner was missing from my trunk. I called several times inquiring about my important planner only to receive attitudes from the manager. The ladies who work there were nice, but the manager was RUDE. He didn't give me his name. My plans are to reach out to corporate and call again hopefully Shawn (another manager) will be nicer and help me locate my planner. read more

I took my vehicle in for an alignment after having new tires put on. I booked my appointment online and dropped my vehicle off with no issues. Was called an hour later to pickup my vehicle and was advised my vehicle did not need an alignment (it was within the specs) and was only charged an inspection fee. These guys were awesome. We had some car trouble on our way to Merrillville on a Sunday night. No other shops were open. These guys stayed open and waited for us to get there, and literally only charged us $30 to tighten a loose bolt (which was the only problem). They saved us at a time when they could have charged us an arm and a leg, and we would have had no choice but to pay it. I highly recommended them. read more

The staff in front are pleasant and knowledgeable. That's where the good stuff ends. I've been here 5 times in the last year. First, I bought 2 rear tires for my pickup. Then, a few months later I returned to get the other 2 replaced. They were all Bridgestone Dueler A/T's and cost about $300 each mounted, balanced, etc. I had to return trip 3 to have one of the tires replaced due to a slow leak. Trip 4 two months later cost me a $160 tow truck trip because another tire went flat while I was on I-80. I noticed the valve stem was split on this tire and another was bubbled out like a balloon ready to pop. I showed the tech and they decided to replace all 4 tires. They were nice enough to charge me $250 for the mileage on the tires. Could've been worse but I feel Bridgestone should have a claim and cover everything including my tow. read more

Had my rear brakes done on 8-8-18, went to use my emergency brake because of the incline I was parking on and it does not work. Took the car in to see what going on knowing it worked prior to having my brakes done the service writer told me to drop it off give him 2 to 3 hours to check it out . Came back 3 and a half hours later to be told the mechanic who did my work while putting on the new brakes the e brake fell apart and he did not tell anyone. So now I have been waiting for 5 hours and they still have not touched my vehicle for service. Lesson learned, I was warned about this location and learned by experiance, will never use them again and I will pass this on to everyone I know. read more

Update: All I can say is wow. I have been a customer for quite a few years and never had problems until now. I spoke to the manager, Joel and he told me everyone lied to me about my car to get my money. Sears lied about not having brakes, Lexus lied about the ABS problem and they could have fixed it and I lied about not being able to stop the car because I had 8mm left on all of my pads. At the end of our conversation, he stated we can agree to disagree. I agreed to move my business. This was such a disappointing experience especially when management fights with you regarding the issue. There is no compromise for my safety. read more

DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE TO! I repeat DO NOT GO HERE FOR SERVICE YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF!! On my birthday my husband and I went to the mall and my SUV died right in the parking lot a few feet away from Firestone. My ABS light was also coming on in the car on the way to the mall and everyting was working fine so we were afraid it might be something more than just the battery. So we went there for help and first of all he wanted to charge us $30 for towing my truck A FEW FEET to their garage! After complaining he said he would knock off that amount and not to worry about it. GENE said he would have to charge us $100 for a diagnostic test to see what the problem was so anyway we left and went to the mall while they worked on my SUV. He calls twice while we are shopping changing the prices he originally quoted and also tried getting an additional $250 out of us for a transmission flush!!! I said just fix what needs to be fixed so we can drive it! He cut me off on the phone and said I AM NOT FINISHED SPEAKING YET! I was shocked. So anyway of course all I needed was a new battery and we requested a balance of my tires too. We get back to pay the bill and he charged us not $30 for towing but $45!! Which he promised to take off and now he wouldn't. He also gave me back the wrong key which unlocks the nuts on the tires. So by the time we left we had to pay $261 for a new battery, balancing the tires, and towing my car a few feet!! DON'T GO HERE YOU WILL GET TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF AND SPOKEN TO LIKE A PIECE OF SHIT!!! As the previous reviews state this is a dishonest location. My tire had a screw in it and I took it there for a plug. They looked it over and came out an hour later to tell me that the screw was in the sidewall and that the tire would have to be replaced. I asked him to fill it up with air so that I could make it an hour and a half back home so that my regular mechanic could take a look at it. I didn't actually inspect the tire but later realized that the screw was actually right in the middle of the tread which is a very easy repair. My mechanic repaired it in less than 15 minutes.The bad thing is the service writer knew that I was from out of town and had to travel an hour and a half back home. Instead of doing the right thing which was to repair the tire for me they stuck to their story and increased my risk of driving the car back home with a slow leak in my tire. read more

Horrible customer service. Lied about breaks needed on the back. Replaced them, still squeak and grind. They SHAVED OFF THE FRONT ROTORS THAT WERE 1 MONTH OLD (Installed badly by them!!!!) WITHOUT PRIOR CONSENT!!!! STAY AWAY FROM THESE FRAUDULENT AND DISHONEST PEOPLE. I have no breaks because they are refusing to service their brand new rear break job done a week ago!!! It takes 3 times longer to stop, but they willfully and negligently sent me out driving the vehicle stating the breaks have been repaired. I asked them repeatedly to repair their shoddy work but they are refusing. I filed a complaint with the Indiana Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division to have them investigated. I'm glad I found this place! I was looking for a great deal on some all-terrain tires for a beater i bought to save my new mustang gt from the brutal winters we get here! I called all over NW Indiana! Internet cruising too! I found a great off-brand tire for my mini 4x4 and Hector, the guy at the counter and on the phone with me for the 3 phone calls I made over a few days, lining-up these tires, hooked me up! They had a sale, buy 3, get the 4th free and I ended-up with new shoes for $280! lol! everywhere else I went, it was approaching double! And, they even did a few: "while you're down theres... " no extra charge! I had been working on this truck myself to save money and left a few loose-ends along the way... And the mechanic took care of them for me! Awesome!
