The narration was informative, and seeing the massive cargo ships and waterfront activity was a unique experience. The boat was spacious, with both indoor seating and outdoor viewing areas. We ordered the chicken tenders and fries, and they were surprisingly good--definitely above average for food on a sightseeing cruise. We also opted for the 42 oz souvenir drink, which was well worth it if you plan on enjoying a few drinks during the cruise. It lasts the full three-hour experience, and the bartender was fantastic--friendly, personable, and made a great drink. Unfortunately, it rained during part of our cruise, which likely impacted the experience since we couldn't spend as much time outside taking in the views. Of course, the weather isn't something the company can control, and there was plenty of indoor seating to stay comfortable. Overall, this was a fun and worthwhile experience that I'd recommend to first-time visitors, couples, and families. Between the scenic views, interesting narration, better-than-expected food, and excellent bar service, it was an enjoyable way to spend a few hours on the Savannah River. I'd definitely return--hopefully on a sunny day next time.

There was some history mixed in along the way, which was interesting, and the whole experience was relaxing. The food was probably the weakest part for me. It was served buffet style with fried chicken, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, plus fruit. It wasn't bad, but it was all pretty lukewarm and just didn't leave much of an impression. That said, I don't think people are booking this for the food anyway. You're booking it for the views, the boat, and the experience. We had fun, enjoyed the ride, and I'm glad we did it.

This is a wonderful option that the city of Savannah has for people to get around because driving in Savannah can get very congested. The staff were very helpful, but they also maintained and upheld boat safety. It's important to know what's going on in Savannah when you are there because if there's a big event at the convention center, get congested and you may be waiting over an hour to get on the ferry. There's a schedule that they have posted on their website, which is pretty accurate.

We loaded up and left promptly. She gave us some knowledge of the area on our way. She talked the entire way of lots of things we passed! We had a disabled person with a walker and she was very considerate and helped her get her walker on and off the trolley and made sure she was first on things and ahead of the group. She also had a cooler of free waters that I thought was very considerate! The itinerary was a bit different than the website I booked from. We went from their office to the boat ride, then lunch, then the lighthouse/beach area then dropped off people at their hotels and then back to their office. She said that the ticket was good for a couple days and that if you called them they would be there within 15 minutes and drop you off where you wanted within an area. I truly think that this is the best way to see Savannah, especially if you have never been or it's…read morebeen a long time (or if you have bad knees, like my husband!) It was about $45 per person which might sound a little steep but they take you to 16 stops all over the city and you can get on and off as many times as you like (just show your ticket!) They run about every 15-20 minutes and if you stay on for the entire ride, it's about a 90 min tour. Joey was our first guide and he was so awesome that we decided to stay on 2/3 of the way through (we only got off for a "pit stop".) He was hilarious and had dad jokes for days. We really enjoyed him. They also gave us some good info...if you're interested in the squares, sit on the left, churches on the right. Every seat near the window was excellent for taking photos. I'm glad I brought an external battery, I was taking so many pictures! There is no AC but they did give us fans! And there are a lot of good coupons included in their handouts. If you are a fan of the book or movie Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, you will see the Mercer House as well as other important spots mentioned in the book. The old part of the city is rally quite remarkable. The tour also takes you to the port are and the newer parts of the city, but the main focus is definitely the historical area. Than Goodness the town capitulated and General Sherman spared it from being burnt. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly and comfortably paced. Be aware that you cannot commandeer the entire seat, not even for backpacks and such. Two persons to a seat.
